Rachel Zegler once again backtracks on controversial comments, this time apologizing for her anti-Trump comments some considered a threat aimed at President Trump and his supporters.
The actress who is set to play Snow White in Disney’s live-action movie had an epic meltdown following Donald Trump’s landslide win over Kamala Harris.
“May Trump supporters and Trump voters and Trump himself never know peace,” Zegler said in a statement released on her Instagram. She also said, “F— Donald Trump.”
“This woman is a pig”
Following her comments, the actress again received massive backlash and was even called a “pig” by conservative talk show host Megyn Kelly who demanded Disney remove Zegler from Snow White.
“Hello, Disney! You’re gonna have to redo your film again, because this woman is a pig, and you fired Gina Carano for far less than this nonsense. She has to go. I’m sorry, Disney, she has to go right now … There’s something wrong with this person,” said Kelly on her podcast.
Rachel Zegler’s apology
Regarding Zegler’s apology, she said she let her emotions get the best of her.
“Hi everyone, I would like to sincerely apologize for the election post I shared on my Instagram last week. I let my emotions get the best of me,” Zegler wrote on Instagram. “Hatred and anger have caused us to move further and further away from peace and understanding, and I am sorry I contributed to the negative discourse.”
She continued, “This week has been emotional for so many of us, but I firmly believe that everyone has the right to their opinion, even when it differs from my own. I am committed to contributing positively toward a better tomorrow.”
Back in December of 2023, Zegler also backtracked on her comments she made about Disney’s Snow White, where she said Snow White doesn’t need a man, doesn’t need to be a love story, that Prince Charming is a stalker, and it’s “weird, weird.”
Disney has since reshot Snow White and delayed the film’s release by a year, which now gets released on March 21, 2025.
