Even after Deadpool & Wolverine blew the doors off the summer box office, Marvel Studios still doesn’t have a plan for Deadpool 4 or even a new Deadpool project.
That’s according to Variety, which reports that “the Marvel brain trust is feeling no sense of urgency on the long-gestating ‘Blade’ reboot or even a new ‘Deadpool’ outing.”
Let that sink in: Marvel finally has a real hit on its hands — a global phenomenon starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman — and they’re just… sitting on it?

Jackman & Reynolds Rumored for Avengers
While there are no official plans for another Deadpool solo film, both Jackman and Reynolds are rumored to return for Avengers: Secret Wars and Avengers: Doomsday.
Rumors also suggest that Jackman’s Wolverine could even continue in the MCU beyond Secret Wars, possibly even a part of Feige’s X-Men reboot.
Longtime rumors have also said a Hulk/Wolverine movie may happen.

Reynolds Developing a New Deadpool‑Team‑Up Project
While Marvel is said to be holding off on a Deadpool 4, Ryan Reynolds is quietly working on a new project, an ensemble featuring Wade teaming with three to four X‑Men characters. The Hollywood Reporter notes this is being developed independently by Reynolds, meaning it’s not officially greenlit yet by Feige and Marvel.
Fans are speculating it’s an Uncanny X‑Force adaptation, which would include characters like Wolverine, Cable, possibly Storm, Psylocke, or Domino. Reynolds reportedly wants Deadpool to play more of a supporting role, a creative decision he believes preserves the character’s edge.
He’s been clear: “If Deadpool becomes an Avenger or an X‑Man, we’re at the end. That’s wish‑fulfillment, and you can’t give him that.”

Reynolds Wanted a Wesley Snipes Blade Movie
Interestingly, Ryan Reynolds has said he wants Wesley Snipes in a new Blade movie, but apparently, Marvel passed.
Instead, Kevin Feige and the Marvel higher-ups are choosing to “wait,” even with massive momentum on Deadpool & Wolverine and fan demand at an all-time high.
