James Gunn unveiled the Peacemaker Season 2 trailer at San Diego Comic‑Con, with John Cena hosting in full costume. The reveal featured a brand‑new opening song— the late Ozzy Osbourne’s “Road to Nowhere”—used as a tribute following Osbourne’s recent passing. Gunn spoke emotionally about the choice and praised the season’s music lineup as his favorite so far, with more modern tracks spanning the last 10–15 years.

At the panel, Gunn highlighted how Season 2 digs deeper into Chris Smith’s internal struggles and the fallout from society rejecting him. He confirmed the show picks up after Superman (Cena cameos), and incorporates multiverse elements, cameos from DCU characters, and Peacemaker facing off against Frank Grillo’s Rick Flag Sr. who return from Creature Commandos and Superman.

Gunn also clarified that virtually all of Season 1 remains canon in the new DC Universe, with the exception of the Justice League cameo, which he plans to address in Season 2.

Comic‑Con Highlights: Cast Antics and Dance Credits

During the panel, the opening title sequence was a major topic. Gunn announced the new soundtrack would now feature “Oh Lord” by Foxy Shazam, whom he called “objectively the greatest rock ’n’ roll band in the world.” The credits again include a choreographed dance with the cast. The trailer teases a major narrative shift: Chris Smith uses a dimensional portal, the Quantum Unfolding Chamber, to enter a parallel universe where he is a celebrated hero. In that reality, he’s in a relationship with Emilia Harcourt. That alternate Chris contrasts sharply with the version struggling in his original world.

New threats loom. Rick Flag Sr. (Frank Grillo) hunts Peacemaker over his son’s death. Peacemaker may also face his mirror‑universe self, while familiar allies like Langston Fleury and Judomaster return to help the 11th Street Kids in the chaos that follows.
