Mark Hamill Done With Star Wars: Won’t Return As Luke Skywalker

Mark Hamill says he’s done with Star Wars and won’t be returning as Luke Skywalker again, not even as a Force Ghost.

Of course, the actor returned as the fan-favorite character in the Disney Star Wars Trilogy, which drew a lot of controversy. Even Hamill said it wasn’t his Luke. Hamill also returned in the episode of Boba Fett as the young Luke, which drew big cheers from fans.

What did Mark Hamill say?

Via YouTube, Mark Hamill says that while he is thankful to George Lucas, his time as Luke is over.

You know, listen, I am so grateful to George for letting me be a part of that back in the day, it’s the humble days when George called Star Wars ‘the most expensive low-budget movie ever made,’” Hamill said. “We never expected it to become a permanent franchise and a part of pop culture like that. But my deal is, I had my time. I’m appreciative of that, but I really think they should focus on the future and all the new characters.

Hamill adds he won’t be back and jokes he doesn’t want to appear as a naked Force Ghost again due to what happened in The Last Jedi.

And by the way, when I disappeared in [The Last Jedi], I left my robes behind. And there’s no way I’m gonna appear as a naked Force ghost. I’m just letting you know that right now,” he said.
