Avengers: Doomsday Leak Looks More Real — But It Comes With a Catch

The Avengers: Doomsday leak is back, this time in higher quality.

A clearer version of the now-infamous Sentinel assembly shot hit Reddit’s r/LeaksAndRumors and rocketed past 1,200 upvotes in hours.

The “upgraded image” is doing two things at once: making the “it’s all AI” theory harder to hold, and confirming that the big Mjolnir moment everyone’s losing their minds over is exactly what the skeptics among us suspected.

The “It’s Fake” Case Just Got Harder

The new version carries the same watermarks as the original — “Property of Marvel Studios,” “Do Not Duplicate” — plus what appears to be an ILM (Industrial Light & Magic) tag, Marvel’s longtime VFX house.

The Reddit submitter claims it’s a scene leak from someone working on the visual effects, which would explain the cleaner source.

We’d caution against treating the watermark itself as proof, as an official-looking tag is one of the easier things to fake, and this franchise has a real history of it; Marvel got hit with photoshopped fake “leaks” after D23.

But the watermark isn’t the strongest evidence here. The strongest evidence is corroboration.

As fans on the thread laid out, the costumes match previously leaked promo and merchandise designs, the “Doom sics the Sentinels on everyone” beat was rumored months ago, and this exact X-mansion-and-craters set was the subject of the very first Doomsday leaks.

Outlets reviewing the footage continue to read it as authentic rather than AI, and the Sentinels themselves are already confirmed for the film via the official X-Men teaser trailer.

Avengers Endgame Captain America Thor Hammer Mjolnir

The Mjolnir Moment Is Just Steve?

Across the footage descriptions, the worthy hand on Mjolnir belongs to Steve Rogers, as Thor calls Stormbreaker while Steve summons the hammer beside him.

That’s set off another round of “Captain America is worthy!” excitement.

But look at how he’s dressed in the clearer image: no costume, no shield in hand, just a black t-shirt and khakis. And Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson still has the Captain America shield.

Steve isn’t Captain America

As the Redditors pointed out, this isn’t Captain America. This is Steve, specifically the version who went back in time at the end of Endgame, lived a life with Peggy, and is now pulled into the fight.

And that Steve was already established as worthy. He lifted Mjolnir in Endgame back in 2019. So him holding it here isn’t a new reveal or a shocking twist, it’s a callback to a worthiness moment the MCU paid off years ago.

If you were hoping the leak meant someone unexpected — a Sam Wilson, a Loki — proved worthy, the higher-quality image is the answer, and the answer is no. It’s the Cap you already knew could do it, and his name is Steve.

What’s Actually In the Shot

Beyond Steve and Thor, the clearer image gives fans a better look at the crossover lineup.

Doctor Doom seemingly commanding the Sentinels, Yelena Belova, Cyclops, an aged-up Nightcrawler (white hair and all), Mystique, Channing Tatum’s Gambit, Shang-Chi, what looks like Pedro Pascal’s Mister Fantastic, and another character next to Cyclops (any ideas?).

It’s the same enormous team-assembly shot people compared to the 2012 Avengers hero circle, just sharper now.

Where This Leaves Things

The higher-quality leak doesn’t confirm anything on its own — only Marvel can do that — and the studio still hasn’t said a word or issued a takedown, which remains its own curious silence.

But the clearer image strengthens the case that this is genuine VFX-stage footage, even as it deflates the single most-hyped detail attached to it. The leak looks more real, and the Mjolnir “twist” looks like no twist at all.
