‘Andor’ Climbs as ‘Last of Us’ Stumbles in Latest Nielsen Ratings

'Andor' Climbs as 'Last of Us' Stumbles in Latest Nielsen Ratings

The latest Nielsen streaming ratings are in, with HBO’s The Last of Us seeing a noticeable dip in viewership, while Disney’s Andor continues its upward climb.

With Andor, Star Wars recently returned to the Nielsen charts thanks to the three-episode Season 2 premiere. It topped the Season 1 debut, and the latest numbers are even better.

As for The Last of Us, it’s just as I suspected. Did fans bail after the big spoiler event in Episode 2? HBO revealed that viewership for the season finale collapsed by more than 50%, and with Nielsen now showing the full week ratings for Episode 3, that seems to be the case.

What are the Andor ratings?

Nielsen released the ratings for the week of April 28 to May 4, 2025, when episodes four, five, and six were released. The show pulled in 821 million viewing minutes, landing at #3 on the “Originals” chart and breaking into the overall Top 10 at #6.

That’s up from the 721 million minutes from the previous week’s three-episode premiere.

Season 1 was really good, so we see that success has carried over to Season 2. Fans are definitely sending Disney their own version of The Message. Will Disney finally get it?

Ahsoka Season 2 is in the works. Jon Favreau has The Mandalorian & Grogu coming out on May 22, 2026, and Shawn Levy is developing Star Wars: Starfighter starring Ryan Gosling for May 28, 2027.

What are The Last Of Us ratings?

While Andor is surging, it’s a different story for HBO’s The Last Of Us Season 2, as the Nielsen ratings for the full week Episode 3 was released, show a decline from the previous week.

The ratings went from 937 million minutes to 827 million. I’m expecting a further dip with subsequent episodes.

Regarding what HBO recently reported, as I went over, according to the official numbers, The Last of Us Season 2 has lost over half its audience.

The Season 2 premiere brought in 5.3 million, but the Season 2 finale was only watched by 3.7 million, a 30% drop from the Season 2 premiere and a 55% drop compared to the Season 1 finale, which drew 8.2 million.

The Live + Same Day ratings also saw a decline from 938k with the Season 2 premiere to 680k with the finale.
