Daredevil Bombs Hard: Nielsen Top 100 Exposes Marvel’s Big Flop

Daredevil Bombs Hard: Nielsen Top 100 Exposes Marvel’s Big Flop

Nielsen has released a list of the most popular and top 100 shows of 2024 – 2025, which reveals just how bad the Daredevil: Born Again ratings really are, as they come in at the bottom of the list.

Daredevil: Born Again made Marvel history when no episodes made the Nielsen ratings charts, an MCU first.

The series also falls under Marvel’s Agatha by a large margin, and even comes in under the Star Wars series, Skeleton Crew, which didn’t make the Nielsen weekly charts.

Disney+ automatically has the Nielsen tracking turned in in user accounts, and it’s the industry standard to measure viewership.

Can Marvel Save Daredevil? Season 2 Tries to Clean Up the Mess

Marvel is developing Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, which hopefully improves on Season 1. What happened with Season 1 is that while having already filmed around half a dozen episodes, Marvel decided to retool the series to bring it closer to the Netflix show. However, they failed to improve things as they kept most of the footage and storyline.

Among the hopeful improvements is that Disney and Marvel recently confirmed Krysten Ritter will be back as Jessica Jones. We also gotta see more from Charlie Cox in the actual Daredevil costume. And for cripe’s sake, Vincent D’Onofrio has to stop crying as the Kingpin.

Charlie Cox has also promised Season 2 will be better:

“I don’t want to oversell it. I do happen to think it’s some of the best writing we’ve ever had on this show. I am sure everyone always says that. I texted the showrunner, Dario, the other day and was like, ‘Obviously we’re still halfway through shooting it, but huge, huge credit to what you’ve pieced together here.’ He’s done something which I’m really excited about, which is that he’s fleshed out characters that in the previous iteration of the show often get left behind. So, it feels much more like an ensemble than it’s ever felt.”

Further good news includes that Jon Bernthal is developing a Punisher Special, and it’s also said Bernthal is starring in Spider-Man 4, set to take on the Savage Hulk with Tom Holland’s Spidey.
