Looks like we now know exactly when Black Panther 3 is hitting theaters, and when itâs starting production.
What are the details?
On the latest episode of The Hot Mic podcast, insider Jeff Sneider said what many suspected, that Black Panther 3 is slotted for a February 2028 release date, with production kicking off early 2027. If thatâs indeed the case, that means Black Panther 3 will be first out of the gates for the MCU following Secret Wars.
âBlack Panther 3, thatâs February 2028,â said Sneider, adding, âThatâs going to start production at the top of 2027 and that will be in theaters February 2028.â
That date lines up with one of Marvelâs previously announced untitled releasesâFebruary 18, 2028âwhich now looks to be claimed by the third Wakanda film. The first Black Panther also had a February 16, 2018 release. Wakanda Forever was released on November 11, 2022 featuring Letitia Wrightâs Shuri as the new Black Panther.

Follows Avengers: Secret Wars
Former Marvel producer Nate Moore recently stated that Black Panther 3 wonât arrive until after the upcoming Avengers films. With Avengers: Doomsday dropping in 2026 and Secret Wars in 2027, a 2028 release for Wakanda makes sense.
Ryan Coogler is confirmed back as the director. Denzel Washington is also confirmed in an unknown role. Damson Idris is heavily rumored to play the new Black Panther, though itâs not known if he would play TâChalla, his son, or even a Variant.

Marvelâs 2028 release schedule
In addition to Black Panther 3, Marvel currently has three more untitled films slated for 2028:
- May 5, 2028
- November 10, 2028
- December 15, 2028 (recently added)
Those could end up being for the X-Men or something else entirely.
