Marvel Animation has released the first trailer for Eyes of Wakanda, and the series is dropping earlier than expected.
Originally slated for late August, the four-episode animated show will now premiere August 1 on Disney+.
First Look at Eyes of Wakanda
Eyes of Wakanda comes from director and executive producer Todd Harris (John Wick, Black Panther) and Marvel’s Ryan Coogler, who also executive produces alongside Kevin Feige, Brad Winderbaum, Louis D’Esposito, and Dana Vasquez-Eberhardt.
The action-adventure series follows elite Wakandan warriors known as the Hatut Zaraze as they travel the globe throughout different eras. Their mission: retrieve stolen Vibranium artifacts from enemies of Wakanda. Each of the four episodes takes place in a different time and setting.
Jona Xiao Is the New Iron Fist
As suspected, the series features a female Iron Fist. Jona Xiao has confirmed she is playing Iron Fist in the series. While details are limited, this is the first time a woman has officially taken on the Iron Fist mantle in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, animated or otherwise. The comics also retconned things to make the first Iron Fist female.

The voice cast includes Cress Williams, Winnie Harlow, Patricia Belcher, Larry Herron, Adam Gold, Lynn Whitfield, Jacques Colimon, Jona Xiao, Isaac Robinson-Smith, Gary Anthony Williams, Zeke Alton, Steve Toussaint, and Anika Noni Rose.
The series is produced in partnership with Proximity Media’s Zinzi Coogler, Sev Ohanian, and Kalia King.

Eyes of Wakanda premieres August 1 exclusively on Disney+ with all four episodes dropping at one time.
