Toy Story 5 isn’t slowing down.
After delivering the biggest opening of 2026, the Pixar sequel just posted the year’s best Monday at the domestic box office, too.
Toy Story 5 Scores The Best Monday Of 2026
Per Deadline, Toy Story 5 grossed $17.3 million on Monday, the best single Monday of 2026 so far.
That puts it ahead of Super Mario Galaxy Movie‘s first Monday ($16.8M) and Star Wars: Mandalorian & Grogu‘s Memorial Day Monday ($16.4M).
The strong Monday pushes the Andrew Stanton-directed film to a $177 million four-day domestic total.
It also ranks as the fifth-best Monday ever for a June theatrical release, behind only Jurassic World, Incredibles 2, Inside Out 2, and Finding Dory. Among animated June releases, it ranks fourth all time.

Disney Says The Franchise Still Has Serious Pull
Disney Entertainment Studios Chairman Alan Bergman credited the milestone to the franchise’s staying power, noting Toy Story has “been breaking ground since it first hit the screen more than 30 years ago.”
Bergman also thanked the Pixar team and fans for delivering “the biggest opening for the franchise and the biggest of this year as well.”
Supergirl Now Opens Against A Pixar Juggernaut
The strong weekday hold sets up a massive second weekend.
Toy Story 5 is projected to ease just 40% to 45% for a Friday-to-Sunday frame in the $88 million-$96 million range.
That would keep Pixar comfortably on top of the box office as Supergirl opens in the same frame, putting DC’s next release in the awkward position of fighting for attention against a second-weekend monster.
