Takashi Yamazaki brings Godzilla to life again with his second ride project, Godzilla The Ride: Great Clash. After Godzilla Minus One, he’s now directing, writing, and overseeing visual effects for this attraction, which premiered at Seibuen Amusement Park on August 1, 2025.

Footage and Image Highlights
The released footage and the image above show Godzilla and the new Mechagodzilla, dubbed the KIJU type 0‑G BREAKER, clashing above a coastal wreckage. The battle unfolds from the ride POV, with Godzilla’s atomic breath meeting KIJU 0‑G BREAKER’s counterstrike. Yamazaki’s new monster design hits the screen with cinematic intensity.

Ride Setup and Story Angle
Great Clash places guests in a mission role aboard the Goose Nest, the flagship of the EDGE (Emergency Defense against Gargantuan Encounter) team. Players are recruited to track Godzilla from the GOOSE drone ship, capable of underwater, surface‑level, and aerial travel. A pre‑show featuring live EDGE crew performs boarding briefing, maps, and a mock‑hangar view of KIJU type 0‑G BREAKER, enhancing immersion before the 15‑minute experience begin.
Design and Effects
Yamazaki’s team, including visual effects studio Shirogumi Inc., developed the ride film to surpass the quality of his earlier work on Giant Monsters Ultimate Battle. It combines motion simulation via Taiwan’s Brogent i‑Ride system, plus water, wind, and sound effects to heighten realism.
Release and Distribution Plans
Opening originally at Seibuen’s Yuhi‑kan Theater in Tokorozawa, Saitama, the attraction is set to expand to over 40 international venues that use the Brogent i‑Ride system. It caps off Godzilla’s 70th anniversary celebrations.
