EA and Battlefield Studios officially revealed Battlefield 6 during a global multiplayer event. Launching October 10 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, Battlefield 6 promises the franchise’s most expansive experience yet, featuring an updated multiplayer system, a new single-player campaign, and a reworked version of Portal.
New Setting and Storyline
Set in 2027, the world of Battlefield 6 is shaped by political upheaval. NATO is fractured following a major assassination. A powerful private military group, PAX ARMATA, rises to fill the void. Players fight alongside a weakened alliance against this high-tech army across global hotspots, from Egypt to Gibraltar to New York City.

Battlefield 6 launches with several multiplayer maps and fan-favorite modes, including:
- Conquest
- Breakthrough
- Rush
- Team Deathmatch
- Squad Deathmatch
- Domination
- King of the Hill
- Escalation (new mode focused on capturing strategic points)
Each map is custom-designed to fit its specific mode and features distinct combat zones.

New Kinesthetic Combat System
The updated movement and gunplay system introduces:
- Drag and Revive mechanics
- Wall-mounted weapons for recoil control
- Expanded tactical movement and positioning options
Return of the Class System
The Assault, Recon, Support, and Engineer classes return, each with role-specific gadgets, weapons, and training to support team strategy. Battlefield’s signature destruction mechanics also return, upgraded to offer more freedom in reshaping the battlefield.
Revamped Portal Experience
The improved Portal mode gives players deeper control to create their own multiplayer scenarios, now called Community Experiences. Battlefield Studios promises ongoing post-launch support with new maps, modes, weapons, and features.
