It’s learned that FOX Studios continues to move forward on the X-Force movie as now Joe Carnahan is writing the script.

Collider reports Joe Carnahan is currently only attached to write X-Force, but notes it’s always a possibility that FOX could eye Carnahan to direct.

Joe Carnahan is known for writing and directing A-Team, The Grey, episodes of The Blacklist, and is working on The Raid, Uncharted and Bad Boys 3

It’s been reported that X-Force will debut in Deadpool 3, and Bryan Singer also recently revealed he was the first to pitch X-Force to the studio.

X-Force is a Marvel comic book from the creator of Deadpool, Rob Liefled, which is a team of mutants that has included at one time or another: Cable, Domino, Deadpool, Shatterstar and even Wolverine, X-23 and Cyclops. Previously released X-Force movie concept art features Cable, Feral, Domino and Warpath (see below).

The X-Force comic debuted in 1991 selling millions of copies and being hugely popular. The team first appeared in New Mutants #100 in April 1991 as well.

Up next from the X-Men films is Hugh Jackman’s Logan, with X-Men: Supernova filming this Summer and Deadpool 2 and New Mutants in the works.
