Game of Thrones: A Telltale Games Series – Episode 4: Sons of Winter Trailer

Watch the trailer above for episode 4, “Sons Of Winter,” for the Game Of Thrones video game, which is available through the Telltale Games Online Store, Steam, and other digital distribution services, as well as the PlayStation Network for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3, Xbox Games Store for Xbox One and Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, for iOS devices via the App Store and is available on Android-based devices as well.

In Episode 4, the fate of the scattered Forresters hangs in the balance, and no one allied with the family is safe. An unexpected meeting offers Rodrik a new opportunity to free Ironrath from its Whitehill stranglehold, but with young Ryon Forrester still held prisoner, his next moves are critical. Gared must abandon Castle Black and venture beyond the Wall in search of the mysterious North Grove, risking encounters with Wildlings and worse. In King’s Landing, the population is reeling from a recent royal death, and Mira must step carefully in an increasingly complex game of politics where secrets are traded as currency. Far away in Essos, Asher infiltrates the slave city of Meereen at the behest of Daenerys Targaryen, but will the friendship he holds dear break under the strain of a mission that raises memories best forgotten?

Based on the award-winning HBO television drama series,  Game of Thrones: A Telltale Games Series tells the story of House Forrester. Caught up in the events of The War of the Five Kings, they are placed in a precarious position where members of the household must do everything they can to prevent the house from meeting its doom.

The game series is based on the world, characters and events seen in HBO’s TV show, which in turn is based on George R. R. Martin’s books (A Song of Ice and Fire). The events in the game series begin towards the end of Season Three of the series, and end right before the beginning of Season Five. Players will visit familiar locations such as King’s Landing and The Wall, as well as unfamiliar locations such as Ironrath, the home of House Forrester.

The game is played from five different points of view. Each is a member of House Forrester; either a direct family member, or a person in service to the House. Scattered across Westeros and Essos, each will play their part in seeking to save House Forrester from destruction.

Power Rangers Movie Concept Art

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20677:]]

We may have our first look at the upcoming Power Rangers movie due out in 2017 in the form of concept art.

Images leaked online revealing designs for the Red Tyrannosaurus Zord and the Pink Ranger’s Pterodactyl Zord.

It should be mentioned that it’s unclear if the art is legit as Movie Pilot has since posted and deleted the art (maybe at the request of Saban) and Bleeding Cool has since picked up on it.

From the first pic, we see it appears the Zords in the Power Rangers film will have multiple modes as well as being able to combine with the other Zords into a Megazord.

The Power Rangers movie is being written by Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz, known for X-Men: First Class and Thor.

Update: Lionsgate requested the images be taken down.

15 yr old Calista King – World’s greatest #deadpool fan – visited set yesterday. Sure, we put her in the film. Sure, I said a lot of terrible words around her. And her mother. And especially her grandmother. But more importantly, she left with Deadpool’s sword. I can’t think of a better person to have it.

Not nearly as profound as watching underwater lava… but if you stare at this electronic fire long enough, you’ll eventually have no idea you’re peeing.

Walking Dead’s Robert Kirkman Joins Transformers Movie Universe Team

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20667:]]

Hasbro and Paramount recently confirmed plans for a big Transformers shared movie universe similar to what Marvel has done with their Avengers movies.

Now the writing team has become known that will steer the Transformers franchise for Paramount.

Deadline reports Robert Kirkman, creator of The Walking Dead, will join Iron Man writers Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, Pacific Rim 2 and The Avengers scribe Zak Penn, and Jeff Pinkner of Amazing Spider-Man 2, Lost, Fringe and Alias

Michael Bay, Steven Spielberg and Lorenzo di Bonaventura are onboard as the “brain trust” along with Akiva Goldsman who will oversee the Transformers universe projects.

The reports notes the Transformers movie universe is a major priority for Paramount’s Marc Evans, President, Motion Picture Group at Paramount Pictures.

Previously released details mentioned plans for the fifth Transformers movie to be released in 2017 with it speculated to be a multi-part movie leading to spinoffs.

As noted, Transformers: Age Of Extinction grossed nearly $1.1 billion when it was released last summer and became the top-grossing release ever in China.

George Takei Calls Out Marvel; Taylor Swift Does A Better Job

Taylor Swift “Bad Blood”

Marvel is definitely feeling the heat for not having a female superhero movie.

Earlier saw Mark Ruffalo call out Marvel regarding the lack of Black Widow merchandise for his daughters.

To add to that, Marvel and Hasbro changed an Avengers 2 toy that removed Black Widow from the motorcycle scene as well.

Now George Takei is at it.

Takei called out Marvel regarding the new Taylor Swift music video for her latest song “Bad Blood,” which is a sci-fi romp done in the style of Sin City featuring celebrities galore.

“Taylor Swift released her much anticipated video Bad Blood starring girl celebs as action stars,” Takei tweeted. “Come on Marvel, T. Swift is showing you up.”

The tweet was retweeted over 2200 times and favorited almost 2000 times.

Marvel has yet to make a superhero female movie, but plans are underway. While it won’t star Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, it will feature Carol Danvers as Captain Marvel, though it’s not due out for another three years. Marvel also recently introduced Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch for some added girl power in The Avengers: Age Of Ultron as well.

It’s unknown why Marvel won’t go with a solo Black Widow movie; Scarlett Johansson has already proven she can be a bigger draw than both Captain America and Thor. Johansson’s Lucy netted more than both of the pair of Assemblers first solo films, and it wasn’t even Marvel related. One would think Black Widow would be an even bigger draw if you add the Marvel fanbase to the Lucy numbers.

Marvel, you know you are in trouble when Taylor Swift is showing you up.

Paramount Wants Star Trek To Be More Like Avengers

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20665:]]

With The Avengers grossing $1.5 billion for Disney, every movie studio wants to follow suit.

The latest is from Simon Pegg who offers the reason the latest Star Trek movie script was rewritten is because executives at Paramount wondered why Star Trek Into Darkness didn’t come close to The Avengers.

“[The Avengers], which is a pretty nerdy, comic-book, supposedly niche thing, made $1.5 billion dollars. Star Trek: Into Darkness made half a billion, which is still brilliant,” Pegg told the Radio Times (via The Guardian). “But it means that, according to the studio, there’s still $1 billion worth of box office that don’t go and see Star Trek. And they want to know why.”

So according to Pegg, the reason for the script rewrite for Star Trek 3 is that the original version was too much like Star Trek for regular fans.

“They had a script for Star Trek that wasn’t really working for them. I think the studio was worried that it might have been a little bit too Star Trek-y,” Pegg offered.

Pegg went on to explain the reasoning.

“People don’t see it being a fun, brightly coloured, Saturday night entertainment like the Avengers,” adding that the solution was to “make a western or a thriller or a heist movie, then populate that with Star Trek characters so it’s more inclusive to an audience that might be a little bit reticent.”

Pegg also confirmd the title for the third film to be Star Trek Beyond.

Watch How Transformers Ruins Your Favorite Movies

Transformers is the franchise that people love to hate; Michael Bay, too.

However, even with all that hate, Transformers is a multi-billion dollar franchise.

The last movie, Age Of Extinction, I actually rather liked. Or course, I knew going in the Dinobots weren’t heavily featured, so I wasn’t in the least bit disappointed by that.

Transformers also gave us Megan Fox (I guess depending on how you look at it).

That said, check out a YouTube video above revealing how Transformers ruins your favorite movies, which features various films with Transformers footage mixed and matched.

Titanic is rather funny.

The rumor comes from the Hashtag Show YouTube channel that states McConaughey is being eyed for the role.

DOOMED: The Untold Story of Roger Corman’s THE FANTASTIC FOUR Debuts At Comic-Con

TRAILER

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20649:]]

The documentary, DOOMED: The Untold Story of Roger Corman’s THE FANTASTIC FOUR will see its world premiere take place at Comic-Con this Summer.

The documentary sheds new light on the mysterious circumstances surrounding the legendary cult classic and “lost” Roger Corman film, The Fantastic Four.

In 1994, Roger Corman was tapped to produce this Marvel superhero story on a very small film budget. The film was ultimately shelved prior to distribution, but a VHS copy was mysteriously leaked and the movie became a darling of film bootleggers and, more recently, web pirates.  Rumors and speculation surrounding the production have become as much a part of the lore of the film as the movie itself.

The feature length documentary was edited and directed by east coast film studies professor and independent filmmaker, Marty Langford and executive produced by LA-based casting director, Mark Sikes.  Sikes was the casting assistant on the 1994 Concorde-New Horizons / Neue Constantin co-production, and was on site at Corman’s studio, offices and locations during the 28 day production.

The original Oley Sassone-directed film stars Alex Hyde-White, Rebecca Staab, Jay Underwood, Carl Ciarfalio and Michael Bailey Smith as Marvel’s “First Family of Super Heroes”, along with Joseph Culp who played ‘Dr. Doom’. These principals are all included in DOOMED: The Untold Story of Roger Corman’s THE FANTASTIC FOUR.

Other interview subjects include:

-Roger Corman, executive producer

-Jonathan Fernandez, VP or Marketing for Concorde/New Horizons

-Glenn Garland, editor

-Chris Gore, on-set journalist

-Sean Howe, author, “Marvel Comics: The Untold Story”

-Lloyd Kaufman, president Troma Entertainment

-Mark Sikes, casting assistant

-John Vulich, make up/effects

The world premiere of this documentary comes mere weeks before the August 7th debut of the new 20th Century Fox reboot, Fantastic Four, directed by Josh Trank.  Constantin Films is among the worldwide distributors of this reboot, a role that would have been impossible without their involvement in the 1994 original film.

The trailer for DOOMED: The Untold Story of Roger Corman’s THE FANTASTIC FOUR has racked up nearly 400,000 views on YouTube.  Distribution rights for the documentary are still available.

DOOMED: The Untold Story of Roger Corman’s THE FANTASTIC FOUR will screen at the Comic-Con International Independent Film Festival.  Judged by a panel of industry luminaries, the CCI-IFF screens genre-related films in the following categories: Action/Adventure, Animation, Comics-Oriented, Documentary (Pop Culture–Related), Horror/Suspense, Humor, and Science Fiction/Fantasy. Awards and prizes will be given out at Comic-Con, with film screenings all four days of the event.

Jupiter Ascending was released this past February to less than stellar reviews and audience approval.

The film reportedly had a huge budget of $176 million and only brought in just over $181 million worldwide.

Jupiter Ascending was directed by The Wachowski’s starring Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis.

Now grown, Jupiter dreams of the stars but wakes up to the cold reality of a job cleaning other people’s houses and an endless run of bad breaks. Only when Caine (Channing Tatum), a genetically engineered ex-military hunter, arrives on Earth to track her down does Jupiter begin to glimpse the fate that has been waiting for her all along—her genetic signature marks her as next in line for an extraordinary inheritance that could alter the balance of the cosmos.

Star Wars & Avengers Join Forces For Industrial Light & Magic Image

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20645:]]

Check out a gatefold image from Wired for the 40th Anniversary of LucasFilm Industrial Light & Magic featuring some of the well known characters and creators from the various movies ILM has worked on.

We see characters from Star Wars, where the old meets the new with Yoda and the new bot from The Force Awakens, BB-8, in addition to George Lucas, Kathleen Kennedy, and JJ Abrams; a Velociraptor from Jurassic Park, and Steven Spielberg and ET. That also looks to be Ant-Man standing on the “I.”

The second image features Bumblebee and Michael Bay from the Transformers franchise; Star Wars: Episode VIII director Rian Johnson; Ron Howard; Guillermo del Toro; a T-1000 Terminator, and Rango.

The third image features the Hulk and Iron Man from the Avengers; Lynwen Brennan of Avatar; Gore Verbinski with Davey Jones from Pirates of the Caribbean; Colin Trevorrow of Jurassic World, and Duncan Jones of Warcraft, in addition to Slimer from Ghosbusters.

Industrial Light & Magic started when Fox finally greenlit Star Wars by giving George Lucas $25,000 to finish the screenplay; however, Fox had no special effects division of their own – so Lucas went out and created one.

“Industrial Light & Magic was born in a sweltering warehouse behind the Van Nuys airport in the summer of 1975.”

James Gunn Clarifies Chris Pratt F-Bomb Comments

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20638:]]

Earlier saw Chris Pratt talk about his Marvel contract which may hint at an appearance in The Avengers: Infinity War movies.

The article also saw Pratt mention how director James Gunn motivated him on set, with than more than a few times Gunn dropping the f-bomb.

Via GQ:

“I think that he had gotten a lot of success over the past few years being the funny sidekick,” says Gunn, “which means that he always has to juggle to entertain everybody. And the truth is, Chris didn’t trust himself to just be Chris Pratt—and how desirable that is to an audience.”

“I thought I was bad,” Pratt concurs. “I thought I was doing bad acting. I would just think: My bullshit meter’s going off. This screams inauthentic to me.” Pratt says that Gunn had little patience with this. “He’s like, ‘Who gives a shit what you think? I don’t fucking care!’ “

He’d literally say that?

“Yes! He’d be, ‘It’s not your fucking movie, dude, it’s mine! Trust me and shut the fuck up and do what the fuck I tell you, and scream it!’ He’s like, ‘More! Louder!’ I would get pissy because as an actor, you sometimes hate that direction: Louder, faster. But it’s true—sometimes you have to be louder, speak more clearly, let the words do the work, and just get out of the way.”

Now Gunn has taken to his Facebook page to offer the following:

Nice GQ article on Chris, in which I’m heavily quoted and there is a bit of Guardians of the Galaxy 2 talk. Although I’m often very honest in articles about myself, I’m usually much more careful when I am interviewed about others. You never know what someone else is sensitive about. This was probably the most honest I’ve been in an interview about an actor, and both Chris and I talk about how he would initially tend to get in the way with his thoughts on set (and also the accompanying self-judgments). I’d yell at him and tell him I didn’t give a shit what he thinks. It seems kind of mean and funny in the interview, but I think it’s an important thing for all artists to remember: IT DOESN’T MATTER WHAT YOU THINK. What matters is the work and the act of creation. It is our job to DO, not to judge. Constant assessment of what we are doing, especially while we are doing it, creates a stilted and needy piece of artwork, when the world needs boldness. If you’re a true artist, the world needs YOU, not what you think you should be.

My job with Chris on set was to help get him out of his head. Chris was able to transform his way of acting throughout the making of Guardians and I’m really proud of what he’s done (and, like him, I get teary when I think of what we’ve got coming in GotG2.)

It’s all good as the two are reteaming for Guardians of the Galaxy 2 and likely a third Guardians film.

Simon Pegg Responds To Dumbing Down Pop Culture Comments

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20637:]]

Simon Pegg has found himself in the hot seat once again.

Following the actor letting it slip Daniel Craig is in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, while appearing on the Radio Times, Pegg caused some controversy by stating pop culture is keeping socities as infants.

Via io9:

Before Star Wars, the films that were box-office hits were The Godfather, Taxi Driver, Bonnie And Clyde and The French Connection – gritty, amoral art movies. Then suddenly the onus switched over to spectacle and everything changed … I don’t know if that is a good thing.

… Obviously I’m very much a self-confessed fan of science fiction and genre cinema but part of me looks at society as it is now and just thinks we’ve been infantilised by our own taste. Now we’re essentially all consuming very childish things – comic books, superheroes. Adults are watching this stuff, and taking it seriously.

It is a kind of dumbing down, in a way, because it’s taking our focus away from real-world issues. Films used to be about challenging, emotional journeys or moral questions that might make you walk away and re-evaluate how you felt about … whatever.

Now we’re walking out of the cinema really not thinking about anything, other than the fact that the Hulk just had a fight with a robot.

Now Pegg has realized the statements have gone viral and took to his blog to clarify his comments with a post titled “Big Mouth Strikes Again,” which reads in part:

Now, maybe I was being a little bit trollish, I can be a bit of a Contrary Mary in interviews sometimes. When you do lots of them, you get sick of your own opinions and start espousing other people’s. Having said that, the idea of our prolonged youth is something I’ve been interested in for a very long time. It’s essentially what Spaced was about, at least in part.

And:

The ‘dumbing down’ comment came off as a huge generalisation by an A-grade asshorn. I did not mean that science fiction or fantasy are dumb, far from it. How could I say that? In the words of Han Solo, “Hey, it’s me!” In the last two weeks, I have seen two brilliant exponents of the genre. Ex Machina and Mad Max: Fury Road, both of which had my head spinning in different and wonderful ways and are both very grown up films (although Max has a youthful exuberance which is nothing’s short of joyous, thanks George Miller, 70) I’ve yet to see Tomorrowland but with Brad Bird at the helm, it cannot be anything but a hugely entertaining think piece.

I guess what I meant was, the more spectacle becomes the driving creative priority, the less thoughtful or challenging the films can become.

And:

Also, it’s good to ask why we like this stuff, what makes it so alluring, so discussed, so sacred. Do we channel our passion and indignation into ephemera, rather than reality? Not just science fiction and fantasy but gossip and talent shows and nostalgia and people’s arses. Is it right? Is it dangerous? Something to discuss over a game of 3D chess, perhaps.

Pegg also made mention that Timothy Dalton and Pierce Brosnan are in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which is guessed to be just Pegg having fun and trolling the fans. Or is it?
