With the Star Wars: The Force Awakens home release becoming available in April, it’s become known seven deleted scenes will be featured.

EW.com has a run-down:

• A scene involves John Boyega’s FN-2187 prior to him fleeing the First Order: Flynn has the blood on his mask and comes upon a woman, where he raises his weapon and…

• Another scene, available only digitally (but each Blu-Ray combo pack includes a free download), sees the First Order attack the castle run by Maz Kanata where Han, Finn, and Chewie face down this squad of stormtroopers in her basement…

• A third scene sees Kylo Ren leading a squad of stormtroopers to the crash-site of the Millennium Falcon on the surface of Starkiller Base. As Kylo Ren inspects the abandoned ship memories of the Dark Side surface… and now knows Han Solo, his father, is conspiring against him.

• A scene would have introduced Carrie Fisher’s General Leia much earlier in the film as she weighs what to do after the First Order’s massacre on Jakku. Resistance communications officer Major Brance receives an early distress signal from BB-8 informing them of the attack…

• Poe Dameron is featured in the deleted scene “X-Wings Prepare for Lightspeed,” which features an assault on the Starkiller base from the perspective of space.

• Daisy Ridley’s Rey is back at the Resistance base watching over Finn following his lightsaber battle against Kylo Renn, and she gets an update on his condition from Dr. Kalonia.

• Another scene involves a chase between the First Order snowspeeders involving Finn and Rey highjacking one to escape the Starkiller Base. This scene explains how they got from the inside of the base to the woodland fight scene with Kylo Ren.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens goes on sale digitally April 1st followed by the April 5th Blu-Ray release.

Three names have surfaced for the shortlist to play the young Han Solo in the Star Wars Anthology movie with Kingsman‘s Taron Egerton, Transformer‘s Jack Reynor, and Alden Ehrenreich, known for Hail, Caesar!

According to THR, other names may be on the list as well, but the list is being closely guarded.

Names said to have previously tested for the young Han Solo role also include Fantastic Four and Divergent’s Miles Teller; Ansel Elgort, also known for Divergent; Emory Cohen, known for Brooklyn, and it’s said actors tested from Richard Linklater’s new movie Everybody Wants Some.

The report mentions the young Han Solo role has become one of the largest casting calls ever as upwards of 2,500 actors have auditioned or sent in audition tapes in some form or another.

The Han Solo movie has a May 25, 2018 release directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller.

Star Wars: Episode VIII announcement teaser
 

Rian Johnson continues filming Star Wars: Episode VIII in Dubrovnik, Croatia where set pics have revealed a bunch of cool looking new aliens, characters and creatures.

The Daily Mail notes the scene is being filmed at the same location that HBO’s Game Of Thrones’ Kings Landing takes place featuring “Oriental-inspired garments – which recall the look of Naboo nobles and the Coruscant elite from previous films.”

Some sort of large alien cat-like creature will also be featured in the scene as a prosthetic head was scene being hoisted, and a landspeeder of some sort is also involved, in addition to various aristocratic-looking individuals.

The report also suggests the rumors of Mark Hamill and Luke Skywalker somehow being involved are true.

The umbrellas pictured are not a part of the scene, but to protect the actors from the rain and bad weather.

“Star Wars: Episode VIII” has a December 16, 2017 release directed by Rian Johnson starring Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie, Andy Serkis, Benicio Del Toro, Laura Dern and Kelly Marie Tran.

The Star Wars: The Force Awakens documentary “Secrets of the Force Awakens: A Cinematic Journey” will premiere this Monday at the SXSW, and then will be featured in the home video release. You can check out full details below. Disney also released two new behind-the-scenes high-res photos.

Carrie Fisher recently revealed the working title for Star Wars: Episode VIII to be “Space Bear,” and now a new rumor has hit the net claiming the actual title to be “Tale of the Jedi Temple.”

An image (see below) has surfaced on Reddit and Facebook claiming the title of Star Wars: Episode VIII is “Tale Of The Jedi Temple.”

It’s said the “Tale of the Jedi Temple” image is for promotional purposes surrounding May 4th (“May The 4th Be With You”).

It’s obviously possible “Tale of the Jedi Temple” could be a fan hoax as the end of Force Awakens – and what looks to be the start of Episode VIII – features Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker and Daisy Ridley as Rey at the Jedi Temple. Or of course, it could be entirely legit as well.

Mark Hamill also released a set pic of himself and his daughter’s dog with a Star Wars: Episode VIII “Space Bear” director’s chair.
