LEGO Star Wars Rogue One Hints At Boba Fett

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:24088:]]

An image coming out of the Nuremberg Toy Fair may have leaked the involvement of Boba Fett in Star Wars: Rogue One.

A Twitter user posted the following image of a LEGO Star Wars: Rogue One set that will be released in October where Boba Fett’s Slave I ship can be seen.

As Making Star Wars points out, the paint design of the ship is different than Empire Strikes Back, so it remains to be seen exactly what is going on.

Per other LEGO sets, Boba Fett could just be included as part of the merchanidse and may not necessarily mean the bouny hunter is involved in the movie.

Previous leaked LEGO images out of the Toy Fair also revealed Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures.

Watch: Star Wars: Episode VIII Predictions

With Star Wars: The Force Awakens in the bag and quickly approaching $2 billion at the box office, it’s now time to turn our attention to Star Wars: Episode VIII (currently untitled).

John Boyega already said Episode VIII will be darker than The Force Awakens, and recently some rumors hit the net regarding possible Luke Skywalker scenes.

We can also speculate that if Episode VIII takes a similar route to that of The Force Awakens, Episode VIII may be a potential “homage” to Empire Strikes Back, which may mean we’ll see Lando Calrissian and the Bounty Hunters, as they first appeared in episode V.

Check out even more speculation and predictions in the above video (possible spoilers?).

Star Wars: Episode VIII has a newly announced release date of December 15, 2017 written and directed by Rian Johnson and begins principal photography in London next month.

Avatar 2 Gets Delayed; No Star Wars Showdown

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23959:]]

Following the news that Disney has moved the release date for Star Wars: Episode VIII two weeks prior to the intended release date for Avatar 2, it’s now become known Fox Studios has delayed the release of the James Cameron sequel.

The Wrap reports Avatar 2 won’t be ready by Christmas 2017, which is the first of three new planned sequels.

No new release date has been announced, and it’s not known what the reason is for the delay. It is noted Fox never officially announced a release date, just that Cameron has stated he wanted the movie ready by then.

This marks the second delay for Avatar 2, which originally was panned to be released around Christmas 2016. Cameron will be filming the movies in New Zealand, with it said production is in very early stages.

Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana are signed on for the long haul, with potential plot details including much of it may be set on a moon of the planet Pandora and underwater.

Star Wars Land Rumors Include Life-Size Millennium Falcon and More

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:21717:]](Star Wars Land concept art)

A batch of rumors has hit the net regarding the new Star Wars Land theme park that is currently in development for Disneyland park in Anaheim, California and Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida.

Here are a few more details; more at the link above:

• Poe Dameron’s black X-wing fighter will greet guests at the 3rd entrance to Star Wars Land, although an Episode VIII feature to the fighter might make it different from what we know about it from The Force Awakens.

Characters and creatures from Star Wars: Episode VIII will be featured in the park.

The word is the Imagineers loved the Rogue One: A Star Wars Story script, but if that will come into play is still hazy. Initial word was the second major attraction would feature Rogue One content, but now that appears to be somewhat unlikely.

Star Wars: Episode VIII Luke Skywalker Scenes Rumored

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23934:]]

A batch of rumors for Star Wars: Episode VIII involving scenes with Luke Skywalker have hit the net.

These come from a Star Wars fan site out of Italy that claims someone-in-the-know has seen concept art and/or storyboards revealing the scenes.

Obviously it’s not known how legit the info is, but the scenes sound pretty cool as they involve Luke Skywalker teaming with Rey against Kylo Ren and probably Benicio Del Toro’s character, who is said to be a villain of the movie (probably saving Snoke for Episode IX à la Return of the Jedi).

Translated via Bing:

In the scene we have Luke and Rey. The two, in the rain, they seem committed to training with Lightsabers, Luke with the historic green and Rey with that blue, belonged to his new master and even before Anakin Skywalker. The planet is the sameon which we find Luke in “the awakening of the force” (as revealed by Pablo Hidalgo, the planet is called Ahch-to). The clothes are very similar to those of the conclusion of the film.

Translated via Bing:

The scene is called ‘ epic ‘, although the realization of designs appeared simpler than its predecessor. Turning to thedescription: war scene. It is sunset. The planet seems to be the same on which we find Maz Kanata in “awakening of force”but with a Palace/Temple much bigger. (we can assume that the Palace/temple to Yavin 4? The similarity between the planets is there, the Palace/Temple more just as large). The war is raging and the resistance (or at least an entity comparableto it) is clearly struggling, on the verge of defeat. Chewbacca is at an angle to secure a figure wound, while seems to launchof shout. Kylo Ren is on the battlefield with the usual three-blade lightsaber but with him we find another character armed with a lightsaber red (another Knight of Ren? Recall that Benicio del Toro has effectively confirmed, repeatedly, be involved in the film and some rumor would seem to indicate a villain).

Near the figure of Kylo Ren there is a Post-It says ‘ stronger than ever . You see an incoming ship, whose door is coming down, harassed by the fire of the Stormtrooper. On the tailgate there are Luke Skywalker and Rey who, by using force, pushing away the soldiers of the first order. Dropped on the battlefield begins comparing with Kylo Ren and the second obscure figure.

In this sequence Luke seems to have a different look, with hair and beard more manicured and similar to that of the lastpicture we see Mark Hamill. The clothes seem to recall those of Obi-Wan in episode I except to have the sleeves and a whiterobe.

Star Wars: Episode VIII has a newly announced release date of December 15, 2017 directed by Rian Johnson.

Star Wars Rebels Princess Leia Hasbro Action Figure Revealed

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23926:]]

Not only are we getting Rey figures from Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but Disney has also revealed the Hasbro Princess Leia action figure for Star War Rebels.

The 3¾-inch Leia figure comes out in the Fall priced at $7.99.

Leia debuts tonight on Star Wars Rebels on Disney XD at 9pm ET.

“Star Wars Rebels” fills the gap between the events of “Episode III” and “Episode IV.” Imperial forces occupy a remote planet and are ruling — and ruining — its inhabitants’ lives with an iron fist. A clever, disparate crew aboard the starship Ghost takes a stand against the Empire, facing new villains and colorful adversaries. The rebels on the Ghost include leader Kanan, ace pilot Hera, feisty heroine Sabine, tough guy Zeb and 14-year-old con artist Ezra.

Stan Lee Talks Possible Avengers & Star Wars Crossover

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23875:]]

Strong is The Force with The Avengers?!

Hey, it’s possible, says Stan Lee.

In an interview with The Big Issue, Stan Lee talks about the possibility of The Avengers meeting up with Star Wars.

First Stan Lee remarks on the possibility of all the Marvel characters appearing together (Avengers, X-Men, Guardians of the Galaxy) as some are owned by different studios:

You mean all together in one film? Yeah, probably. It’ll be the most expensive film ever produced! But anything that the public want to see you can be sure it will eventually be produced.

It’s then remarked that Disney owns the rights to The Avengers and Star Wars, and that the public would love for a crossover to happen. Stan throws Spider-Man into the mix as well:

Well, I don’t know how many characters you can have in a movie but obviously the people who produce these things are looking to be as successful as possible. If they feel that incorporating Star Wars with the Marvel characters will be very successful, they’ll find a way to do it. Can you imagine Spider-Man saying: ‘May the force be with you’? It may come to that!

Nothing overwhelms people in the movie or television business. They are always looking for the next great idea.

Stan Lee notes they can take anyone they want and make them an Avenger, even Luke Skywalker.

We did it in the comics. I created the Avengers by taking many of our characters and making a team out of them. We can have as many characters join the Avengers as we want to for future movies. That might be fun too – all of a sudden Luke Skywalker is an Avenger!

How does an Avengers and Star Wars crossover movie on the big screen sound?

James Earl Jones Rumored As Darth Vader For Star Wars: Rogue One

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23859:]]

This probably shouldn’t be all the surprising, but it’s being rumored that Darth Vader will be featured in Star Wars: Rogue One and that James Earl Jones will return to voice the character.

The info comes from Making Star Wars that states Darth Vader’s iconic costume from Episode IV: A New Hope is being recreated for Star Wars: Rogue One. It’s further suggested that a new actor looks to be cast in the suit as the physical Darth Vader.

It’s said Darth Vader looks to be used in the movie “as a prominent player in a few scenes and something to fear for the heroes,” and it’s noted this would fit with Episode IV that sees Darth Vader chasing the stolen plans at the start of A New Hope.

James Earl Jones did return to voice Darth Vader in Star Wars Rebels, so obviously a part in Rogue One wouldn’t be out of the question.

“Star Wars: Rogue One” has a December 16, 2016 release directed by Gareth Edwards starring Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Jiang Wen, Forest Whitaker, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, who plays a performance-capture character in Rogue One, and Riz Ahmed.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens Theory States Rey Has A Different Name

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23857:]]

With all the theories surrounding Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Snoke’s identity comes to mind), is another one that just might hold some merit, which suggests Daisy Ridley’s character may have a different name than Rey.

The speculation/theory arises out of the Star Wars: The Force Awakens: Rey’s Survival Guide book which is written from the point of view of Rey, in a diary/journal format.

Remember the scene in the movie featuring Rey with the X-Wing pilot’s helmet? Well, the Survival Guide reveals information why Rey has it, as well as the name of the pilot — Dosmit Raeh. We know Rey was dropped off on Jakku at a young age. Is it possible she was abandoned without anyone knowing her name? If she was hidden on Jakku, which some theories suggest, to hide her lineage, she might not even have had a name. We see Rey comes upon the helmet at a young age and makes up stories about the X-Wing pilot. It’s possible she might have even taken the pilot’s name – Raeh – as her own, “Rey.”

Further evidence comes from the novel, Before The Awakening, which states Rey “calls herself Rey.”

Of course, this the brings up the question as to who Rey really is: A Skywalker? A Solo? A Kenobi?

Early scripts for Star Wars: The Force Awakens were said to have used the name: Kira Skywalker.

Below you can also check out page revealing how (in part) Rey acquired her skills.

Check out a video here that looks into Rey as being a Kenobi.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens Maz Deleted Scene Description

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23839:]]

Check out a description for a pretty awesome scene that was cut from Star Wars: The Force Awakens featuring Maz using her Force powers and fighting Stormtroopers.

The info comes from SFX supervisor Chris Corbould (via the Collider).

CHRIS CORBOULD: There was a particular part of a scene that never made it, where they go underneath the castle and they’re going into the underground passageways, and stormtroopers are coming down the stairs and Maz uses her powers to collapse the ceiling.

From my point of view, [that] worked absolutely brilliantly because you had all the main actors running up and then Maz does her bit and then the whole ceiling collapses in front of them, but that never made it. That was a shot I was quite proud of, actually, it worked really, really well.

Other deleted scenes included more aerial combat dogfighting, a snowspeeder chase, more of the Rathars, Kylo Ren turning on his lightsaber, and a shot of Maz placing the Skywalker lightsaber into the hand of Carrie Fisher’s General Leia.

Hopefully the scenes makes their way on to the Blu-Ray, and also check out a cool video going over Star Wars: The Force Awakens deleted scenes and rejected concepts.

“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” is currently in theaters.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens Falling Faster Than Expected In China

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23812:]]

Hopes of besting James Cameron’s Avatar seem to be about as dead as Han Solo as Chinese audiences aren’t as receptive to Star Wars: The Force Awakens as their Western counterparts.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens has just about crushed every box office record there is, which led to speculation the J.J. Abrams-directed film might pass Cameron’s mammoth $2.78 billion worldwide gross from 2009’s Avatar

However, that is not going to happen as Star Wars: The Force Awakens is “falling faster than expected in China.”

Now it’s even questioned if Star Wars will surpass Titanic ($2.18 billion).

Forbes notes in China, Star Wars is peforming ($150 million) less than: Transformers: Dark of the Moon ($165m), Avatar ($209m), Jurassic World ($228m), Avengers: Age of Ultron ($240m), Transformers: Age of Extinction ($320m), and Furious 7 ($390m).

While Disney did market the movie in China, the article notes that the movie may be considered a “rip off” by the Chinese as they are new to Star Wars and have seen similar movies like it in the past 35 years.

China Film Insider even reports younger audiences found Star Wars: The Force Awakens boring, and the movie has failed to be a hit with the younger generation.

“Perhaps what should be most disconcerting to Disney are reports that younger moviegoers in third- and fourth-tier cities, the demographic fueling China’s booming box office and the target of Disney’s marketing bonanza—the foundation for its future success in the country—were confused by the plot and even heard snoring during screenings,” the site reports.

Chinese social networks are also responding negatively to Star Wars: The Force Awakens:

“If a science fiction film lacks imagination then what makes it different from a soap opera? The story was completely in service to fans of the original trilogy and it only relied on razzle-dazzle effects. The most laughable element is that all the force in the galaxy could belong to one family. Creating nostalgia while introducing a new conceptual story doesn’t have to conflict.”

Our own movie reviewer was left scratching his head after viewing the movie, and let me remind you about my earlier tweet:

Princess Leia is coming to Star Wars Rebels.

Check out a clip above featuring her arrival, with Princess Leia being voiced by Julie Dolan.

The Ghost crew is back, and they’re bringing Star Wars royalty with them.

Star Wars Rebels returns with “A Princess on Lothal,” a brand new episode featuring Princess Leia, on January 20 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on Disney XD. Set three years before the events of A New Hope, Leia is introduced as a young leader on her way to becoming the strong, more resolute character portrayed in the original trilogy.

“One of the complex challenges of depicting Leia in Rebels is that we have to remind the audience that she is part of the Empire at this point,” says executive producer / supervising director Dave Filoni. “She doesn’t believe in the Empire, but she is acting the part, almost as a double agent. The Empire sees her as a privileged princess who runs mercy missions to wayward worlds, but in truth she is much stronger and more dangerous than they imagine.”

Appearing in her only episode of the season, the young Princess Leia is voiced by Julie Dolan, who also lent her vocal talents to the Rebel leader featured in Disney’s Star Tours attraction. Her character’s appearance in Star Wars Rebels portrays the beginnings of the seasoned general we meet again in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, her royal heritage all but eclipsed by her hard-won military stature.

“There really is no other character quite like her,” says Filoni. “And to quote The Force Awakens’ Lor San Tekka, ‘She’ll always be royalty to me.’”
