New Look At Snoke In Star Wars: The Force Awakens

With the Star Wars: The Force Awakens Blu-Ray now available comes a batch of designs for Supreme Leader Snoke, played by Andy Serkis.

Snoke has officially been described as:

The Supreme Leader of the First Order, the mysterious Snoke has no permanent base of operations, preferring to contact his underlings from a mobile command post. Snoke is powerful with the dark side of the Force, and seduced Kylo Ren into abandoning the Jedi path to become his apprentice. But Snoke also commands General Hux and the technological war machine the First Order has engineered to destroy the New Republic and Leia Organa’s Resistance.

A redditor posted the following giving us a look at unused designs, which includes a white-robed Snoke, a scene involving Snoke on a viewer in front of Kylo Ren, a good look at Snoke’s malformed body and more.

New Luke Skywalker Concept Art & Images From Star Wars: The Force Awakens

What could have been, right?

Instead of getting that single scene from Luke Skywalker at the end of the movie, Star Wars: The Force Awakens concept art reveals Mark Hamill may have originally played a larger role.

Reddit fans have been posting art and images of Luke Skywalker that are apparently a part of the Star Wars: The Force Awakens Blu-Ray extras.

That pic of Luke with Vader’s helmet is pretty cool. We know Kylo-Ren ended up with it. I wonder what that’s about? We also see an updated Luke image for Force Awakens from Return of the Jedi.

Listen to the secret dialogue in the Star Wars: The Force Awakens Rey flashback scene.

We already knew the scene featured Yoda and Obi-Wan (voiced by both Alec Guinness and Ewan McGregor), but apparently it features Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker, the breathing of Darth Vader and Palpatine as well.

The Mike Zeroh YouTube channel put the video together, which first plays what we hear in the movie, and then later amplifies the sound so it can be heard a lot clearer. Cool video.

Batman Vs. Superman Cut Scene & Star Wars Easter Egg & Trailer Revealed (Video)

Watch video below featuring Batman Vs. Superman producer Deborah Snyder talking about a Star Wars Easter Egg that was included in the movie as well as a Henry Cavill cut scene.

Both Batman Vs. Superman and Star Wars: The Force Awakens filmed at the same time. Zack Snyder happens to be a big fan of Star Wars (and was at one time rumored for a SW movie). Snyder released an image of a Jedi Superman Henry Cavill (above), which saw Abrams follow suit with images of his own, only for Snyder to do so as well (see below).

Deborah Snyder actually reveals they created a special Batman Vs. Superman Star Wars-themed trailer, which was for their personal use, but hints it may be released at some point.

The Batman Vs. Superman Star Wars Easter Egg is of Lex Luthor as prisoner TK-421, which is the name of the Stormtrooper from Star Wars: Episode IV that Luke and Han stole the stormtrooper suit from used to infiltrate the Death Star.

Regarding the Batman Vs. Superman cut scene, it involved Henry Cavill as Clark Kent investigating Batman in Gotham City.

Star Wars: Episode VIII Rumored Luke Skywalker Scene & Poe Dameron Costume

We get some rumored details on a Star Wars: Episode VIII scene involving Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker and also a description for Oscar Isaac’s Poe Dameron costume.

Previous set images revealed aristocratic-looking characters and aliens, and now the scene is said to take place at a casino. It’s said the scene involves lots of different aliens, similar to the cantina scene from A New Hope and The Force Awakens, but on a larger scale.  Luke is said to be walking around the casino looking for someone (unknown).  Something apparently happens causing an evacuation with the sequence said to involve Laura Dern’s character and Oscar Isaac’s Poe Dameron, as well as lots of people evacuating into smaller ships.

Regarding the costume of Poe Dameron in Star Wars: Episode VIII, Making Star Wars describes it as a cross between Han Solo and Indiana Jones. It’s said to be Poe’s Resistance costume (not the X-Wing costume), which is very similar to Poe’s Force Awakens look, but with slightly updated color and a new jacket. Poe has a V-cut undershirt that is grayish light blue with a jacket from the “Han Solo Collection,” described as a “cafe racer jacket,” but not tight fitting. The jacket is said to look like Han Solo’s jacket from The Force Awakens, but with a higher collar and the lapels stick out more. There is also a left breast pocket.

“Star Wars: Episode VIII” has a December 16, 2017 release directed by Rian Johnson starring Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie, Andy Serkis, Benicio Del Toro, Laura Dern and Kelly Marie Tran.

Watch: Adam Driver Teases Star Wars: Episode VIII

While promoting his latest movie, Midnight Special, Adam Driver talks about Star Wars: Episode VIII.

Obviously, Driver, who plays Kylo Ren, can’t say much, but he offers in the below video (via EW) that the script is great and jokes they are still at war.

“I didn’t turn into a new person,” Driver said regarding his life after Star Wars: The Force Awakens debuted. “Nothing happened to me. But a lot of people saw it, and that was good. I guess my Christmas is kind of easier now – the toys and things for family. Kids is a big thing: I feel like before parents kept me away from their kids; now it’s like, go get a picture.”

Driver also confirmed they are presently in the middle of shooting Star Wars: Episode VIII.

“They’re still at war. It’s still Star Wars,” Driver offered. “They’re not at peace. They’re at war.”

Adam Driver also talked about working with Episode VIII director Rian Johnson compared to The Force Awakens‘ J.J. Abrams.

“Their temperaments are different,” Driver said. “I feel like there was so many moving pieces in the first one – just trying to solve it and set the vocabulary for what it was. There’s a lot of that anxiety is gone, because people have developed a language. I think it’s more of a testament to Rian coming into something very established and making it [his own]. I can’t wait to get on set, just because he’s so unassuming and intelligent and approachable. The script they’ve come up with is really great.”

Star Wars: Episode VIII has a December 16, 2017 release directed by Rian Johnson starring Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie, Andy Serkis, Benicio Del Toro, Laura Dern and Kelly Marie Tran.

D23 Expo 2017 Takes On Comic-Con’s With July Date

Disney has announced that the 2017 D23 Expo will move to the month of July, which is also the month held by the San Diego Comic-Con.

The 2017 D23 Expo wil take place the weekend of July 14–16. Previous years saw the Disney 23 Expo take place in August.

Comic-Con has yet to announce a date for 2017, but this year sees Comic-Con international held July 21-24; last year it was held July 9-12.

Disney announced the following regarding the D23 Expo (held every two years) which mentions Star Wars and Marvel.

Disney kept Marvel Studios out of last year’s Comic-Con, obviously to promote the material at their D23, which saw announcements for Tom Holland as the new Spider-Man, Captain America: Civil War and Doctor Strange panels, Pirates of the Caribbean, Star Wars and more. Disney has Star Wars: Episode VIII and Thor 3 out later that year in 2017, so it’s possible we could get some new footage from those movies, with the potential for teases from the 2018 Black Panther movie and Avengers: Infinity War as well.

2017 D23 Expo Info:

All the magic and excitement of the past, present, and future of Disney entertainment will come together once again D23 presents D23 Expo 2017 at the Anaheim Convention Center the weekend of July 14–16. Each of Disney’s magical worlds will unite under one roof to celebrate what’s new and what’s on the horizon from theme parks, television, music, gaming, and films, including Pixar, Star Wars, and Marvel. Advance tickets for D23 Expo 2017 will go on sale at D23Expo.com beginning July 14, 2016.

D23 Expo launched in 2009, and since then the biennial event has attracted tens of thousands of Disney fans from across the country and around the world.

Highlights planned for the fifth D23 Expo include the Disney Legends Ceremony, which honors the talented men and women who have made significant contributions to the Disney legacy; an all-new exhibit curated by the Walt Disney Archives; D23 Expo’s costume contest, Mousequerade, showcasing the most creative designs by fans; the D23 Expo Emporium, where Disney fans can buy, sell, and trade Disney collectibles, memorabilia, merchandise, and more; and the D23 Expo Design Challenge. (Details on the Design Challenge and Mousequerade are coming soon.)

The 2017 Expo will feature a massive show floor full of immersive experiences and special opportunities to see what’s next for Disney around the world—and guests may run into their favorite Disney stars, characters, Imagineers, animators, and filmmakers. StagePass, the popular ticket distribution system that allows attendees to obtain guaranteed seats for some of Expo’s most popular presentations, and StorePass, which allows priority entry to select shopping venues at the event, will once again enhance the guest experience. Hall D23, the popular presentation and performance venue featuring more than 7,000 seats, will return, as will Stage 23, Stage 28, and Center Stage.

The fifth event follows the success of D23 Expo 2015, where guests were treated to appearances by such celebrities as Johnny Depp, Harrison Ford, Ellen DeGeneres, Chris Evans, Ginnifer Goodwin, and Dwayne Johnson and watched performances by Ne-Yo, Sabrina Carpenter, the cast of Teen Beach 2, and stars of Disney’s shows on Broadway. Fans previewed costumes from Star Wars: The Force Awakens and were the first to hear about the new Star Wars-themed lands coming to Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts. They also enjoyed a look back at Disney’s rich history through extraordinary panels, presentations, and exhibits and discovered the newest entertainment, technology, and products coming from Disney.

D23 Members will receive special pricing on both one- and three-day tickets to the event, which is open to the general public. D23 Gold and Charter Members will also be entitled to special benefits at the 2017 Expo. Miles Teller Never Watched Star Wars Prior To Han Solo Audition

Miles Teller is one of the thousands of actors who have auditioned for the role of the young Han Solo movie in the Star Wars Anthology film due out in 2018.

Teller, who seems to have not landed the role, tells the Happy Sad Confused Podcast that he didn’t even watch Star Wars prior to the audition.

“I had never even seen any of the original Star Wars movies until maybe a month or a couple weeks before my first audition because I was like, ‘I should check this out’ (laughs). It holds up. I just love Harrison Ford, I think that’s a great character. I love his brand, I mean so many guys would’ve played that part so wrong and he has humor at the right times.”

The same podcast sees Teller defending the recent Fantastic Four movie that bombed at the box office (for what it’s worth, I thought it wasn’t all that bad; they just needed to fix a few things: Thing, Doom and add more story elements).

“People think that when you make something like a Fantastic Four that doesn’t do well, people think ‘Oh you phoned it in’ and it couldn’t be more untrue. You work harder on the bad films, or the films that turn out maybe not the way you intended, because something’s not working. And I thought it was kind of unjustly critiqued that way; there are even bigger bombs if you’re looking at how much money went into the production and what they reaped back. But I think it’s unfortunate a movie like that becomes a scarlet letter on a resume when so many talented people worked really hard and maybe a handful of people took it in a negative direction. ”

Teller goes on to blame the Fantastic Four script for the movie’s failure, which according to reports, was always in a state of flux.

“I think it was Clooney who said you can make a bad movie out of a good script, you can’t make a good movie out of a bad script, and that’s very true. If they’re telling you maybe your part’s not as big and they say, ‘Oh you’re gonna be bigger in the sequel’ or ‘Oh we’re gonna rewrite’ and ‘Yeah we’re gonna take in all these notes,’ if you’re in a position where you can say hold off I’m not signing off on this dotted line until this script is exactly where you want it, then you’re in a very fortunate position.

The Han Solo Star Wars movie has a May 25, 2018 release directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller. It’s said Taron Egerton, Jack Reynor and Alden Ehrenreich are now being eyed for the role of the young Han Solo.

Names said to have previously tested for the young Han Solo role also include Fantastic Four and Divergent’s Miles Teller; Ansel Elgort, also known for Divergent; Emory Cohen, known for Brooklyn, and it’s said actors tested from Richard Linklater’s new movie Everybody Wants Some.

The report mentions the young Han Solo role has become one of the largest casting calls ever as upwards of 2,500 actors have auditioned or sent in audition tapes in some form or another.
