Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Fails To Chart On Nielsen

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Fails To Chart On Nielsen

As if Vincent D’Onofrio needed anything more to cry about, as expected, Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 failed to make Nielsen’s streaming originals chart for its premiere week, continuing a rough viewership pattern for Marvel on Disney+.

The first episode of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 premiered March 24 on Disney+, with Nielsen now releasing its streaming ratings for the week of March 23-29.

The series is not listed in Nielsen’s Top 10 Original Series chart. Check out the numbers below.

Week by week, here’s how Season 2 has tracked: the first two episodes’ debut numbers, the Episode 4 miss, the Episode 6 zero-for-15 result, the Luminate streaming drop, the week it lost to Temptation Island, and how it now sits below even Echo. The bigger question of what these numbers mean for the franchise is its own discussion.

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Misses Nielsen Top 10

Nielsen’s chart for the week is topped by Netflix’s Beauty in Black with 1.362 billion minutes watched, followed by HBO Max’s The Pitt with 1.208 billion minutes.

At the bottom of the chart is Peaky Blinders with 449 million minutes watched.

That means Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 came in below 449 million minutes for its premiere week, based on Nielsen’s public Top 10 originals list.

Note: Disney+ automatically has Nielsen tracking turned on in user accounts and is the go-to standard for viewership ratings.

Season 2 Episode-by-Episode (Nielsen)

  • Episode 2 & 3: 427
  • Episode 4: 369
  • Episode 5: 332
  • Episode 6: 321
  • Episode 7: 352
  • Episode 8: 334

Marvel Announces Wonder Man Season 2 For Disney+

More Daredevil And Marvel Shows Are Still Coming

While Marvel isn’t seeing the same viewership success it once did, the MCU isn’t slowing down on Disney+.

Instead, Marvel is shifting its strategy with lower-budget projects, fewer releases, and content aimed more directly at the fans who are still watching.

Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 is already filming and is expected to bring back more street-level Marvel characters. Mike Colter has been linked to the return of Luke Cage, while Finn Jones is also expected back as Iron Fist following set activity around the new season.

The Punisher special starring Jon Bernthal is also set to debut May 12, while Wonder Man is continuing with more episodes planned.
