Daredevil: Born Again Flops So Hard It Might Miss Nielsen Charts Entirely

The MCU definitely isn’t what it used to be: there’s a string of movie failures, and no one is watching the Disney+ shows, including Daredevil: Born Again, which has failed to make the Nielsen charts with seven episodes released.

It’s looking highly likely that the entire show might not chart on Nielsen. If the previous two episodes released at the same time can’t make the Nielsen charts among a low week’s viewing, it might not at all. There’s a possibility Daredevil: Born Again may even be the MCU’s least-watched show, even worse than Echo and Ms. Marvel, if you can believe it.

What happened is that the Marvel content on Disney+ is so bad that fans have stopped watching. It’s the same for the movies (and Star Wars). It has nothing to do with superhero fatigue or being stretched too thin; it has everything to do with the creative direction, which fans have completely rejected.

What are the ratings?

Nielsen has released its charts for the week of March 31 – Apr 6, 2025, when episode 7 of Daredevil: Born Again released on Disney+. The episode has failed to make the chart. Recall that Disney has the Nielsen tracking automatically turned on in Disney+ accounts and measures all the episodes available within a week’s timeframe.

At the bottom is Prime Video’s Bosch: Legacy with 470 million minutes. Obviously that means episode 7 of Daredevil: Born Again came under that number. The episode was also pretty bad as it had Heather taking credit for killing Muse, not Daredevil, and she was scolding Matt as well (lol). Vanessa also continued to be Kingpin (more laughs).

Marvel’s Downward Spiral: Daredevil Flops, Thunderbolts Bombs, Feige Scrambles

As I went over last week, things are so bad for Daredevil: Born Again that episodes 5 (Ms. Marvel tie-in) and 6 (Muse) failed to even hit 344 million minutes, which means those two episodes of Daredevil: Born Again failed to average more than 172 million minutes each. So if individual episodes are less than 172, again unless some MCU fans show up at the end to binge-watch, Daredevil: Born Again will embarrassingly be the first Marvel show not to make the Nielsen charts.

With Thunderbolts also bombing this week, Friday saw the WSJ reveal that Kevin Feige is overhauling Marvel. Recall how I said Feige was also retooling Daredevil: Born Again, but obviously, we see they didn’t go far enough. The last episode of Season 1 is actually good, so let’s hope that continues into Season 2.

Is the MCU doomed? Up next is Fantastic Four in July.
