Where Did All the Marvel Fans Go? Daredevil Ratings Embarrass Disney

The viewership ratings for Daredevil: Born Again on Disney+ are actually much worse than thought – embarrassingly low – as the series once again fails to make the Nielsen charts.

What is particularly alarming this time is that two episodes have failed to make the Nielsen charts amid a low week in viewership.

Disney+ automatically has Nielsen tracking turned on in accounts. It’s the industry standard regarding tracking viewership data. Disney is also invested in Samba TV, which tracks household viewership data. Samba TV hasn’t reported any numbers for Daredevil: Born Again and hasn’t reported any Marvel numbers on Disney+ for quite a while (same with Star Wars).

What is going on with the ratings?

Nielsen has released its charts for the week of March 24–30, 2025, when episodes 5 (Ms. Marvel tie-in) and 6 (Muse) of Daredevil: Born Again dropped on Disney+. Together, they failed to make the charts.

At the bottom of the chart, at #10, is Hulu’s Good American Family with 344 million minutes. That means the two episodes of Daredevil: Born Again failed to average more than 172 million minutes each. It’s a complete disaster and further proves that Marvel fans have abandoned Disney+.

None of the Daredevil: Born Again episodes have made the Nielsen charts, including the two-episode premiere. It could be a first for Marvel if the series doesn’t track on Nielsen.

Nielsen also measures all the available episodes within a given week’s timeframe, so that also means no Marvel fans are jumping on late to binge-watch, at least not yet.

Marvel fans bail on Disney+

We actually get more evidence that Marvel fans bailed on Disney+ with it learned that Madame Web performed better and was watched more on Netflix than Deadpool & Wolverine on Disney+.

Really, the only thing keeping Disney+ going is Bluey, which isn’t even a Disney original program. The occasional Disney animated movie also performs well, such as Moana 2.

How the MCU has fallen

MCU fails to live up to expectations on Disney+

It’s mind-blowing to think how Marvel has fallen since Avengers: Endgame. Kevin Feige and Marvel promised movie-quality MCU shows on Disney+, but it’s been just the opposite.

Daredevil: Born Again is no different. Its ultra-low budget is evident, coupled with its lack of quality in writing and sprinkling of the agenda, all add up to fans tuning out.

Next from Feige? Ironheart featuring gang members turned activists, and Wonder Man.

MCU movies fail to deliver

It’s a similar story for the MCU on the big screen as well, as recent blunders from Feige include Captain America: Brave New World and The Marvels.

Thunderbolts is now estimated to have the second-lowest MCU opening at the box office, only better than The Marvels.

Fantastic Four, which Marvel needs to perform well as the MCU heads into Avengers: Doomsday and brings back Robert Downey Jr., is also facing massive heat following the release of the full trailer. The film seems to be another release from Feige pushing the progressive narrative and agenda. Well, how’s it been working out?
