Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Loses To Temptation Island On Nielsen

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Loses To Temptation Island On Nielsen

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 has missed Nielsen again, and this week, a Netflix reality dating show is beating it.

The latest Nielsen streaming originals chart covers April 13-19, 2026, the week Season 2 Episode 5, “The Grand Design,” was available on Disney+.

Once again, Daredevil: Born Again is not listed.

Netflix’s Temptation Island made the chart. Peacock’s The Miniature Wife made the chart. Apple TV’s Your Friends & Neighbors made the chart. Marvel’s Daredevil did not.

That makes Season 2 0-for-5 on Nielsen. Add in Season 1, and the full series is now 0-for-14 across every episode available to Nielsen.

Reality TV, Peacock, And Apple TV All Chart — Daredevil Doesn’t

Nielsen’s latest Top 10 Original Series chart is led by HBO Max’s The Pitt with 1.388 billion minutes watched, followed by Prime Video’s The Boys at 918 million and Netflix’s Big Mistakes at 580 million.

The rest of the list: Trust Me: The False Prophet (Netflix), Invincible (Prime Video), Beef (Netflix), Temptation Island (Netflix), Love on the Spectrum U.S. (Netflix), The Miniature Wife (Peacock), and Your Friends & Neighbors (Apple TV).

A reality dating show. A feel-good docuseries. A Peacock original. An Apple TV drama. All charting above Marvel’s flagship street-level hero on Disney+.

At the bottom of the chart is Your Friends & Neighbors with 332 million minutes watched. Daredevil: Born Again did not chart, meaning Episode 5 failed to clear 332 million minutes for the week.

For a Marvel Disney+ series built around a fan-favorite character, getting beaten by a reality dating show is not a good look.

The Bar Got Lower And Daredevil Still Missed

The latest miss looks even worse compared to last week.

For the April 6-12 chart, the No. 10 title was Apple TV’s Shrinking at 369 million minutes.

This week, the cutoff dropped to 332 million minutes.

That means the Nielsen threshold fell by 37 million minutes, and Daredevil still could not clear it.

This is not just another missed chart. Nielsen’s Top 10 became easier to enter, and Daredevil still landed outside it.

Disney+ Gets Shut Out

The chart is also bad news for Disney+ overall.

This week’s Nielsen Top 10 originals list includes shows from HBO Max, Prime Video, Netflix, Peacock, and Apple TV.

Disney+ is not on the chart. Marvel is not on the chart. Star Wars is not on the chart.

For a service built around brands like Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar, and Disney animation, that absence keeps pointing to a larger streaming problem.

Daredevil Is Now 0-For-14

The misses keep stacking up.

Daredevil: Born Again Season 1 failed to make Nielsen’s Top 10 originals chart across its entire run.

Season 2 has now missed with Episode 1, Episodes 2 and 3 (released at the same time), Episode 4 “Gloves Off,” and Episode 5 “The Grand Design.”

That puts Season 2 at 0-for-5 and the full series at 0-for-14.

None of the 14 episodes available to Nielsen have broken into the Top 10. For context, The Miniature Wife made this week’s chart on 10 episodes. Big Mistakes made it on 8. Trust Me: The False Prophet made it on 4.

Daredevil has more inventory than any of them and still cannot break in.

This is no longer a one-week miss. It is a streak.

Note: Nielsen tracking is automatically turned on in Disney+ accounts.

Luminate Also Shows The Audience Drop

As we previously covered, the Nielsen misses line up with Luminate’s report showing Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 has lost a large chunk of its audience compared to Season 1.

Luminate reported that the new season roughly dropped 46% in season views and nearly 55% in both hours and minutes watched.

In plain terms, Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 has lost about half its audience.

Fans May Have Bailed After Season 1

The numbers point to a simple explanation: fans were not happy with Season 1 and decided not to come back.

Daredevil: Born Again had the name. Charlie Cox back as Matt Murdock. Vincent D’Onofrio back as Kingpin. The Netflix legacy and years of fan demand behind it.

But Season 1 drew mixed reactions, and Season 2 has not reversed the trend.

Even Wilson Bethel, who returned as Bullseye, has previously said he was frustrated with how things played out, disappointed Bullseye’s role was limited after fans waited years for the character.

The Nielsen and Luminate numbers now suggest a lot of viewers may have felt the same way.

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Toy Prop Reveal Adds To Finale Backlash

Finale Backlash Adds To The Problem

Season 2 has also faced backlash over its finale.

As previously covered, fans criticized the Karen Page fight scene where she takes down an armored AVTF guard — a trained combatant — after only limited training from Daredevil earlier in the season.

The finale also drew attention after Hasbro’s Dan Yun revealed Marvel Legends roleplay samples were sent for Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. Fans then noticed what appeared to be toy props used during production, adding to the criticism that the Disney+ series looked cheaper than expected.

The Punisher: One Last Kill Review: Jon Bernthal Returns, But Marvel Needed More

Marvel Is Still Moving Forward Anyway

Despite the Nielsen misses, Marvel is still moving forward.

The Punisher special starring Jon Bernthal debuted Tuesday. It can be looked at as another miss from Marvel. Read our review here.

Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 is currently filming and has teased the return of more Defenders-era actors and characters.

Wonder Man is also getting a Season 2.

But the Daredevil numbers are hard to spin. Season 2 is 0-for-5 on Nielsen. The full series is 0-for-14. This week, the chart cutoff dropped to 332 million minutes, and Daredevil still missed while a Netflix reality dating show made the list.

For Marvel, that is not a grand design. It is another warning sign.
