Franz Drameh Cast In Arrow / Flash Spinoff

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20198:]]

Franz Drameh known for Edge Of Tomorrow and Attack The Block, has been cast in the Arrow and Flash spinoff, which has a speculated title of Legends Of Tomorrow.

Drameh’s role is unknown, but the officially released information makes it sounds a lot like Cyborg, who will also be appearing in Batman Vs. Superman played by Ray Fisher.

Here is the info:

Jay Jackson, a former high school athlete, whose pro-career was derailed by injury.  Now making ends meets as an auto mechanic, Jay will come to have a surprising affiliation to the S.T.A.R. Labs crew.

Previous details also made mention of the character as “a regular, street smart guy who unexpectedly gains powers, and then, as part of the team, regularly quips about the insanity of the situations.”

Other possible contenders could be Black Lighting or maybe Static Shock. Maybe even Green Lantern John Stewart?

The Flash / Arrow spinof is due out next Fall starring Brandon Routh as Atom, Caity Lotz in an unknown role, Victor Garber as one half of Firestorm, Wentworth Miller as Captain Cold, Dominic Purcell as Heat Wave, Arthur Darvill as Rip Hunter and Ciara Renee as HawkgirlYou can check out a spoiler-filled cast photo here.

Legends Of Tomorrow Speculated Title For Arrow / Flash Spinoff

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20157:]]

The CW and WB are currently developing a superhero team spinoff series from The Flash and Arrow.

Now a potential title has hit the net with “Legends Of Tomorrow.”

It’s pure speculation as of now, but the title fits with what is currently known about the spinoff.

“Legends Of Tomorrow” would work as a title because it is thought time travel is involved with the new series as not only can The Flash travel through time, but another character said to be a part of the team, Rip Hunter, is from the future as well. This would also explain how Caity Lotz can appear in the spinoff series (either as Canary from the past or perhaps an ancestor from the future).

In an ironic sort of twist, it’s been said Robbie Amell will not be a part of the new spinoff; Robbie Amell starred in a similar-named CW series before joining The Flash that was cancelled with The Tomorrow People.

The info comes from a blurb over at Variety where they reported on an international programming event with mention of “Legends Of Tomorrow.”

With MipTV wrapped, the focus now shifts to the L.A. Screenings in May. Big product suppliers were using MipTV to talk up L.A. Screenings bows that include, in terms of shows attracting attention for WBITVD, “Supergirl” for CBS, “Blindspot” for NBC, “Legends of Tomorrow” for CW, and also “The Curse of the Fuentes Women,” for NBC.

The Flash / Arrow spinoff, possibly titled “Legends Of Tomorrow,” is due out next Fall starring Brandon Routh as Atom, Caity Lotz in an unknown role, Victor Garber as one half of Firestorm, Wentworth Miller as Captain Cold, Dominic Purcell as Heat Wave, Arthur Darvill as Rip Hunter and Ciara Renee as Hawkgirl. You can check out a spoiler-filled cast photo here.

Update: David Ramsey, who plays Diggle on Arrow, is reported to have referred to the spinoff as “Legends” while attending the Calgary Expo over the weekend.

First Look At Arrow / Flash Spinoff Cast Leaks Online

We have our first look at the cast from the Arrow / Flash superhero team spinoff from what appears to be the final episode of The Flash Season 1.

An Instagram user posted the following image revealing Wentworth Miller as Captain Cold; Brandon Routh as the Atom; Caity Lotz (as maybe a time-resurrected Canary?); Ciara Renee as Hawkgirl; Victor Garber as one-half of Firestorm, Victor Stein; Stephen Amell as Arrow and Grant Gustin as The Flash.

The Instagram user also claims Rip Hunter is present (played by Arthur Darvill), but he’s not seen in the image.

Now for some speculation:

Previous images from the episode revealed Ollie in a new League of Shadows Arrow costume, and now we see Ollie back in costume as well as Caity Lotz is back. We know The Flash can time travel, and there is also the time traveller Rip Hunter. It’s probably not too hard to guess that something might happen regarding time travel to bring the team together. It’s possible Caity Lotz may be plucked from a point in her past, but not necessarily messing with her death, as she may go back to the same point in time, “eventually.” This way would then not cause some sort of time paradox and wouldn’t undermine her Season 3 death, but it would enable the use of the fan-favorite character and actress (another possibility is she could be from a parallel universe).

Phil Lord & Christopher Miller Developing The Flash Movie

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:19977:]]

The LEGO Movie writers and directors, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, are developing The Flash movie for Warner Bros.

Deadline reports Lord and Miller are working behind the scenes developing the story and currently working on a treatment.

It’s stated it’s unknown if the duo will direct The Flash.

It’s also stated that Lord and Miller’s The Flash will “take on a totally different dimension” than the 1940s character or the small-screen interpretations.

What exactly that entails is also unknown, but a different take on The Flash is already speculated as Ezra Miller has been cast as the DC movie universe Speedster.

Phil Lord and Christopher Miller also directed the Jump Street movies for Sony as well as wrote and produced the Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs animated films and are involved with the LEGO Batman movie spinoff.

The Flash has a 2018 release and is expected in the 2017 Justice League movie.

Doctor Who’s Arthur Darvill Joins Arrow / Flash Spinoff

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:19859:]]

Add one more to the cast of the untitled spinoff of Arrow and The Flash with Arthur Darvill.

Darvill, known for playing Rory Williams on Doctor Who, will stick to the time traveling genre as he is set to play none other than Rip Hunter.

Earlier today also saw casting news for Hawkgirl in the superhero team spinoff.

THR reports Arthur Darvill is in final negotiations to play a character called The Traveller, whom they learned is Rip Hunter (the character was previously named as part of three new DC heroes to be a part of the show).

Fans of the comics know Rip Hunter has a relationship with another DC time traveling hero – Booster Gold (it remains to be seen whether or not Booster Gold will be a part of the new spinoff).

The report also mentions WB is describing Rip Hunter in the spinoff as: a roguish time traveler who hides the strains of being responsible for history itself behind a facade of charm and wit.

Rip Hunter won’t be the first time travelling character as we know Tom Cavanagh is playing Professor Zoom, a character from the 25th century in the DC Comics.

Arthur Darvill also joins Brandon Routh as Atom, Victor Garber as one-half of Firestorm, Wentworth Miller as Captain Cold, Dominic Purcell as Heat Wave and Caity Lotz in an undisclosed role.

The Arrow / Flash spinoff looks to debut next mid-season.

Arrow / The Flash Spinoff Casts Hawkgirl

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:19856:]]

The latest DC superhero to join the Arrow / The Flash superhero team spinoff is Hawkgirl.

Deadline reports Ciara Renée will play the role of Kendra Saunders aka Hawkgirl.

It was previously said the spinoff will be bringing in three new DC superheroes previously unseen on TV, with the article noting that Hawkgirl doesn’t look to be one of the three as the character previously appeared on Smallville.

Kendra Saunders in the series is described as: a young woman who is just beginning to learn that she has been repeatedly reincarnated over the centuries. When provoked, her ancient warrior persona manifests itself, along with wings that grow out of her back, earning her the moniker Hawkgirl.

It’s further said that Kaity Lotz, who played Canary in Arrow, may end up playing one of the three new DC characters, with apparently the new characters to be one female and two male.

Update: Arthur Darvill cast as Rip Hunter.

Ciara Renée joins Brandon Routh (Atom), Victor Garber (one-half of Firestorm), Wentworth Miller (Captain Cold) and Dominic Prucell (Heat Wave).

The untitled Arrow / Flash spinoff is eyed for next midseason.
