Hela Rumored For Thor: Ragnarok & More

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23947:]](fan art)

It’s being said that Hela will be the villain of Thor: Ragnarok, most likely played by Cate Blanchett as Mark Ruffalo previously let it slip she is playing a big baddie.

According to Geek.com, Hela will be similar to her comic book counterpart (ruler of Hel and the realm of Niflheim) and will make her way to Asgard where she will be in “cahoots with Tom Hiddleston’s Loki.”

Details include:

• Hela might replace Death in the MCU (which may mean Thanos is in love with Hela and the two battle the Marvel heroes in Avengers Infinity War).

• Hela and Loki’s plan (currently unknown) will have well been underway before Thor realizes what’s going on.

• It’s said Hela is responsible for an incident which leads Thor on a journey in the film.

• Thor gets banished from Asgard.

• Hela destroys Thor’s hammer, Mjolnir.

• Odin (which sees Anthony Hopkins return) has fled to Earth where he wanders around as a “end is near” crazy-looking street-corner hobo warning of the coming Apocalypse (Ragnarok).

“Thor: Ragnarok” has a November 3, 2017 release directed by Taika Waititi also starring Chris Hemsworth and Mark Ruffalo.

Charlie Cox Wants Daredevil In Avengers: Infinity War

With their potentially being a lot of characters in Avengers: Infinity War, how about Daredevil being amongst them?

Well, it doesn’t seem to be on the cards at the moment, as Charlie Cox says he hasn’t gotten the call, but the actor tells Entertainment Tonight he wants in.

“Yeah. That would be the coolest thing ever. Marvel TV and Marvel Studios are two very different things,” said Cox. “Even if the character were to appear in that film, that doesn’t necessarily mean that I would appear in that film. I will pick a fight with the guy that they choose!… So that would be a dream, but that’s not something that has been discussed.”

Jon Bernthal also talked about playing The Punisher offering it’s an honor and that he looks at playing the character as a responsibility.

Watch more in the above video.

Stan Lee Talks Possible Avengers & Star Wars Crossover

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23875:]]

Strong is The Force with The Avengers?!

Hey, it’s possible, says Stan Lee.

In an interview with The Big Issue, Stan Lee talks about the possibility of The Avengers meeting up with Star Wars.

First Stan Lee remarks on the possibility of all the Marvel characters appearing together (Avengers, X-Men, Guardians of the Galaxy) as some are owned by different studios:

You mean all together in one film? Yeah, probably. It’ll be the most expensive film ever produced! But anything that the public want to see you can be sure it will eventually be produced.

It’s then remarked that Disney owns the rights to The Avengers and Star Wars, and that the public would love for a crossover to happen. Stan throws Spider-Man into the mix as well:

Well, I don’t know how many characters you can have in a movie but obviously the people who produce these things are looking to be as successful as possible. If they feel that incorporating Star Wars with the Marvel characters will be very successful, they’ll find a way to do it. Can you imagine Spider-Man saying: ‘May the force be with you’? It may come to that!

Nothing overwhelms people in the movie or television business. They are always looking for the next great idea.

Stan Lee notes they can take anyone they want and make them an Avenger, even Luke Skywalker.

We did it in the comics. I created the Avengers by taking many of our characters and making a team out of them. We can have as many characters join the Avengers as we want to for future movies. That might be fun too – all of a sudden Luke Skywalker is an Avenger!

How does an Avengers and Star Wars crossover movie on the big screen sound?

Thanos Has Large Agenda In Infinity War & Russo’s Talk 67 Characters

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23804:]]

At the recent New Orleans Wizard World Comic-Con, Anthony and Joe Russo took part in the Captain America: Civil War panel which saw it remarked they had a list of 67 characters they were keeping track of for the Infinity War movies.

Now it turns out that “67” was just an exaggeration as the Russo’s filled in the Collider, which also saw mention that “Thanos has a very large agenda” in Infinity War:

“We were being figurative when we said [67 characters] and people took it as literal but there’s a lot of characters. Infinity War is meant to be the culmination of the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe up to that point. It’s very ambitious in its scope, it wants to take everythign that you’ve seen before and coalesce into some kinda of climactic ending. It’s complicated , ambitious storytelling…We’re not talking about lead characters, just people that make an appearance.”

It’s also learned when and where Infinity War will begin filming, and that the two-parter will be shooting at the same time:

“We start shooting both of them later this year in November and we’re primarily going to be based in Atlanta again. That’s where we’ll do out stage work and some exteriors. There will be locations from around the world involved as well. We actually relocate to Atlanta in late July to finish up pre-production there. We don’t come back to L.A. until the following June.”

“We’re shooting them concurrently, meaning that some days we’ll be shooting the first movie and some days we’ll be shooting the second movie. Just jumping back and forth. We won’t look like this next year.”

The Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 hits May 4, 2018, with Part 2 on May 3, 2019.

Spoiler Returns To Marvel Comics Today In Uncanny Avengers #4

Spoilers follow for today’s issue of Uncanny Avengers #4…

Yesterday saw Marvel Comics release a “Dead No More” teaser, and while the following may not be related, a character does return.

Last March saw Marvel publish the Rage Of Ultron original graphic novel, which saw Hank Pym merge with Ultron.

Now Hank Pym is back in the pages of Uncanny Avengers #4, and he’s not alone.

Check out the reveal of Pym who states he brought Ultron with him.

Regarding the validity of the “Dead No More” teaser, did Han Pym technically “die” in Rage Of Ultron? It’s guessed the two are more than likely unrelated.

Anthony & Joe Russo Talk Tone Of Infinity War Versus Captain America Movies

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23783:]]

This past weekend saw directors Anthony and Joe Russo take part in the Captain America: Civil War panel. Below you can check out what the two had to say about the difference in tone between Infinity War and the Captain America movies.

Other panel highlights include:

• Frank Grillo Reveals Potential Captain America: Civil War Spider-Man & Cap Spoilers

• Chris Evans Wants The Human Torch On His Side In Captain America: Civil War

• Chris Evans Wants Captain America To Interact With Wolverine

• 67 Characters So Far For The Avengers: Infinity War

Watch the Captain America: Civil War panel

Joe Russo on Infinity War:

Joe Russo: We have some big stuff cooked up in Infinity War. We are literally finishing Civil War and prepping Infinity War at the same time. We have such a great interaction with the cast… It’s really steered the last two movies and will for the Infinity Warmovies — interacting with the cast and talking about how they want to evolve the characters and where they want to see the characters go. It creates a very organic and natural process, which I also think makes it surprising and exciting for you guys [the fans].

Differences in tone:

Joe Russo: Winter Soldier and Civil War are companion pieces. They are Captain America films,  driven by the tone and execution that is tied to that character. The style of camera work that we use in those movies, there is a style of performance we use in those films, music, everything ties together tonally in those movies.

You will see in Civil War a shift that occurs half way through the movie in tone and in camera work. That implies the difference you will see in Infinity War. Obviously, those are very large scale movies, which is why we chose to shoot those movies in IMAX because we want the scope, of what IMAX brings you, you have larger than life characers figuritively and literally.

So I think the tone of Infinity War will be a little different because you are also incorporating characters from other Marvel films that don’t have the same tone as the Captain America films. So the tone will shift. The camera work will shift. The music will shift.

I think everything will be distinctive in those movies, but I still think, you know ultimately, we love action… We’ll still have our action set pieces. I think there will be some continuity of style. We also want to have some surprises in store for you guys. We want to shift it up. You can’t keep doing the same thing over and over.

Anthony Russo on Infinity War:

Anthony Russo: The good news is that Infinity War is meant to be the culmination of the MCU up until this moment and be a comprehensive sort of culmination to what the MCU has been. I think on the up side, everybody is going to have an oppurtunity to interact with a whole bunch of people in not too long. That’s one of the exciting things about that film.

“The Avengers: Infinity War” Part 1 hits May 4, 2018; Part 2 lands May 3, 2019.

67 Characters So Far For The Avengers: Infinity War

Infinity War Teaser

Woah!

The Avengers: Infinity War movies look to be a Marvel fan’s dream come true!

According to the Joe and Anthony Russo, the directors behind the Infinity War films, the movies may feature at least 67 Marvel characters.

At Wizard World New Orleans, Joe Russo offered the following:

We have so many characters we’re dealing with.  We’re breaking ground on Avengers: Infinity War. We have a board with 67 characters on it.

Joe Russo dropped the info when his brother, Anthony, mistakenly referred to Hayley Atwell as Sharon Carter (Atwell plays Peggy Carter).

As there are two parts to the Infinity War movies, it’s possible the 67 characters could be split up. Still! That’s a lot of characters, and I can’t help but think of the original Jim Starlin Infinity Gauntlet Marvel Comics storyline when the Marvel heroes took on Thanos (awesome!).

With that many characters, maybe we’ll not only see the Guardians of the Galaxy involved, but also maybe the Marvel TV characters with Agents of SHIELD, Daredevil, Punisher, Iron Fist, Luke Cage and Jessica Jones.

“The Avengers: Infinity War Part 1” kicks off May 4, 2018, with Part 2 getting released May 3, 2019.

The Marvel comics creator behind the likes of the Avengers, Fantastic Four and Spider-Man told Empire Magazine — he would throw a party!

“I wouldn’t go anywhere; I would stay where I was. Because I think this whole zombie thing is wrong. You see, it seems to me that if somebody was dead, and then came back to life, that person wouldn’t want to hurt anybody, he would be so happy! “Hey, look at me! I’m alive! Let’s party!” So I would hang around and wait for the next party.”

Thanos Won’t Be Messing Around In Next Appearance

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23633:]]

The Mad Titan has been less than angry (or crazy) in his appearances thus far in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but that’s all about to change for Thanos.

While Thanos appeared in the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie, Marvel Studios president and producer Kevin Feige (and recently director James Gunn) says not to look for Thanos in the sequel.

“I wouldn’t look to hard in that movie for Thanos,” Feige told Empire Magazine about Guardians of the Galaxy 2.

Feige continues with mention Thanos will be more than just a cameo that smirks when we see him next.

“Are you asking if he’s going to do more than sit in a chair and smirk? Oh, yes,” Feige offered. “The next time we see Thanos he will not be messing around. It will be, “Oh, that’s why they’ve been teasing this villain for five years!'”

The article then speculates the “smart money” is on Thanos coming to Earth to retrieve the Infinity Stone from Vision’s head in Avengers: Infinity War Part 1.

Regarding Guardians of the Galaxy 2, while Thanos may not be featured, new members will.

“There have been many different incarnations of the Guardians over the years in the comics,” Feige said. “And we’ll catch a glimpse of additions over the course of the movie.”

Watch Thanos’s appearances in the MCU below as well as the Infinity War featurette.

“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” has a May 5, 2017 release; “The Avengers: Infinity War Part 1” hits May 4, 2018.

Kevin Feige Talks Black Panther

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23531:]]

Check out what Kevin Feige had to say about Black Panther, who will first appear in Captain America: Civil War, played by Chadwick Boseman, prior to the 2018 standalone movie.

Via the latest issue of Empire Magazine:

“The one is important. Not only do you get an unbelievable lead character, but you also get all of Wakanda which is a whole new setting and culture to explore.

It’s a big geo-political action adventure that focuses on the family and royal struggle of T’Challa in Wakanda, and what is means to be a king. T’Challa’s story is very important to us as it links to the next Avengers films, which is why we brought it forward.”

It’s also noted that Feige said Black Panther will have a “primarily African-American cast.”

Black Panther hits February 16, 2018 and marks the last Marvel Phase III movie prior to The Avengers: Infinity War Part 1.

Sounds Like Merged Smart Hulk Is Coming In Thor: Ragnarok Or Avengers: Infinity War

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23458:]]

We may see a merged smart form of the Hulk in Thor: Ragnarok or even The Avengers: Infinity War movies.

Ruffalo previously teased that Banner and the Hulk would have a confrontation, and now Ruffalo talks about the two merging.

As fans of the comic books know, at times Banner and the Hulk have merged or one has over taken the other (due to various factors).

Speaking with AICN, Ruffalo offered the following:

He’s on the run. I think that we carry that through. It’s not just a matter of taking himself to some remote place and hiding. Now he’s removing himself from humanity altogether. I’m not sure where we’re going to head with that, but I’m sure that’s probably still very much alive within him. It’s very subtle, but the Banner/Hulk consciousness is beginning to meld a little bit. Who decided to leave? Was it Banner or Hulk? It’s not really in the [cinematic] mythology of Hulk up until that moment to be that conscious and pro-active. It’s interesting, right?”

“Yeah, I think it [will be fun]. I think it’s really exciting where we could go with it. Now I feel like we’re kind of in No Man’s Land. I mean, the comic books have kind of broached the subject, but we’re moving away from the traditional Hulk/Banner relationship. We’re starting to mess with it a little bit. Now we’re going to see how far we can push the limits of it before people get sick of it!”

The merged version (or a one-sided version) of the Hulk on the big screen would be interesting as it could mean the introduction of the Green Scar, the Hulk from Planet Hulk and World War Hulk.

The merged version of the Hulk also brings up memories of the Peter David 1990s version (one of my favorites), which I consider more a superhero version of the Hulk, aka Prof. Hulk (and who also appeared in Infinity Gauntlet). I actually had Peter David sign my issue of Incredible Hulk #377 at the recent NYCC that featured the first Banner/Grey/ Green merged Hulk and asked him if he thought we would ever see that version in a movie. He said he doubted it and added this one of his favorite versions of the Hulk, too.

“Thor: Ragnarok” hits November 3, 2017.

Watch: Russo Bros. Asked If Captain America & Winter Soldier Are Gay By The Chinese; Talk Spider-Man

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23422:]]

Check out video below with the Russo Bros. taking part in an interview in China for Captain America: Civil War, where apparently the Chinese audience thinks Captain America and The Winter Soldier happen to be homosexual. The brothers are asked if the homosexual nature will continue in Captain America 3 and The Avengers 3.

On the relationship between Captain America and Winter Soldier (being homosexual?):

“People can interpret the relationship however they want to interpret it. For us, we’ve always interpreted the relationship as two brothers. They’re very close characters, they have a relationship with each other that is very deep. The bonds between the characters are very strong. That’s what motivates the storytelling. These are both characters that came from nothing. Captain America was basically an orphan, and Bucky’s family took him in… When he was sleep for several years, he lost everything that was dear to him. And when he took the serum and became Captain America, he gave away a large part of himself for a patriotic cause. So, you have a character who is searching for the only thing that he has left from his past… and that’s Bucky. And people have interpreted that relationship all kinds of ways, and it’s great to see people argue about it what that relationship means to them. We will never define it as filmmakers, explicitly, but however people want to interpret it.”

On Spider-Man:

“This is a completely new version of Spider-Man that’s introduced in Civil War. He’s played by an actor named Tom Holland. He’s a very talented actor. It was very important to us that we wanted to go young with the character because what we love about Spider-Man is that he’s still a high school student. That’s a part of his vulnerability, and it’s what makes him special in the Marvel Universe; he’s very unique. We wanted to play to that aspect of the character. We tried to think about ‘Who is Spider-Man today?’ A lot of times when you get interpretations of Spider-Man, they’re very nostalgic to the origins of the character. Sometimes there’s an old-fashioned patina to the tone of who Spider-Man is. We wanted to think about who is Spider-Man today — if he lived in Queens today, if he went there, what’s the texture of his life like, what’s the texture of his relationship with his aunt like, who he lives with. How can we make the relationship and character very contemporary? That was our goal with the character, while also making him very young and true to his highschool nature. I think that’s the fresh part of what we are doing with Spider-Man on a character level.”

On potential big things happening to major characters in Captain America 3 and Avengers 3:

“The stakes of both Civil War and the Avengers: Infinity War movies are gonna be very high, and there will be a price to pay… And that’s the whole point of cumulative storytelling. We’re going to go on emotional journeys with these characters. We’ve got a lot invested in them emotionally. We have responsibilities to be mindful of how these people feel about the characters and, at the same time, we also have a responsibility to carry through on the storytelling. As filmmakers, we believe in stakes. You can’t have good storytelling without strong stakes. So, there will be a price to pay. There will be a price to pay in Civil War. There will be characters who suffer in that movie and who come out and won’t be the same again — emotionally or physically. In Infinity Warthe stakes will be raised to a whole new level.  People should expect to be shocked when they see these movies.”

On Captain America’s new costume in Civil War:

“It is a new costume. We were trying to pull forward the work that we had done in Captain America: The Winter Soldier on Cap. So, the innovations that we made to his costume in that film are very much the tonal texture that we are pulling forward into this movie. Civil War is very much connected and rooted in The Winter Soldier. So, as far as the specifics of the costume, we don’t want to give too much away, but it is a new costume slightly different from what you’ve seen before. And it’s grounded in that Winter Soldier tone and style.”

On Captain America and Black Widow:

“It was very important to us in Captain America: Winter Soldier, that relationship be platonic. That was what we thought was interesting about it. They do care very deeply for each other, but not a romantic relationship, which is the expected relationship. We wanted to play against that, but they do care very deeply for each other. I think, as much as any two characters in Avengers do. And I think you’ll see that again in Civil War. His relationship with Natasha is pivotal to the movie. I think two of the most endearing scenes in the film are between Steve and Natasha. And of course, that relationship will carry forward into Infinity War. That’s our interpretation of their relationship is that this is like a brother and sister who are work-husband and work-wife. They have a real respect for each other, but they’re very different; they admire the differences in each other, and they find a commonality in those differences.”

(via CBM)

Marvel’s Avengers Alliance 2 Announce Trailer

Check out the announce trailer for the Marvel Avengers Alliance 2 video game that goes into Beta soon.

The first game is available on Facebook, iTunes and Google Play.

Info:

Disney Interactive and Marvel Entertainment today announced that a new turn-based team role-playing game Marvel: Avengers Alliance 2, the 3D visually-enhanced mobile sequel to the smash hit social game Marvel: Avengers Alliance, will be launching soon in limited beta testing in select countries. In Marvel: Avengers Alliance 2, players will assemble a team of Marvel Super Heroes to battle Ultron, Baron Strucker, and more.

Since its launch over three years ago, the original Marvel: Avengers Alliance has become the most successful Disney-published social game with nearly 70 million players and over 100 Super Heroes and Super Villains for players to collect and nearly 1600 different combat situations to battle through, including PVP Tournaments and Incursions.

In this original storyline for Marvel: Avengers Alliance 2, pieces of the planet are disappearing, with entire cities vanishing without a trace. It is a mystery with a single clue: all of the disappearances are at previous sites of Incursions. Villains are taking advantage of the chaos, as well as the massive deposits of Iso-8 left behind by each disappearance. Each player must level up heroes, customize each hero with special abilities and assemble the ultimate team to take into battle.

Players who pre-register at https://www.MarvelAvengersAlliance2.com prior to launch will be awarded a redemption code for an exclusive Power Cell, which provides the player one of the following randomly selected Guardians of the Galaxy heroes for use in the game: Star-Lord, Gamora, Rocket Raccoon, Drax, or Groot. The code will be delivered to each player after the game launches and will be usable in-game after the game’s world-wide release. Complete promotion details, terms and conditions are posted at https://www.MarvelAvengersAlliance2.com

MEET THE HEADS OF THE CLASS: MARVEL AND TINYCO REVEAL NEW YOUNGER VERSIONS OF KEY CHARACTERS IN

MARVEL AVENGERS ACADEMY

Marvel Entertainment and TinyCo have unveiled a first-look at the newly re-imagined Avengers as they will appear in MARVEL Avengers Academy, the upcoming adventure / simulation title for iPhone®, iPad®, iPod Touch® and Android™ devices. MARVEL Avengers Academy will feature a rich cast with hundreds of characters from the Marvel Avengers universe, re-imagined as students navigating the social ups and downs of Academy life, while protecting the world, and developing their trademark super powers.

Released via Marvel’s YouTube channel, a new character video reveals to the world for the first time what Captain America, The Hulk, Iron Man, and Thor will all look like in TinyCo’s upcoming game about Super Heroes in training to one day save the world:

·  Captain America – The living legend and natural born leader just might be the only mature person at the Academy, so he’s a perfect fit to lead away missions and serve as Class President. But that doesn’t mean he relates to his classmates. The guys respect him, the girls adore him, and Hydra hates him, but he’s still trying to find his place in this crazy world, and even crazier campus.

·  The Hulk – He’s the ultimate Big Man on Campus, a gentle giant who just happens to be “the strongest there is.” He does his best to learn and fit in, but this Academy wasn’t made for invulnerable behemoths, so his anxiety and frustrations inevitably turn to anger and that’s not good for anyone.

·  Iron Man – Tony Stark is a billionaire. A genius. An inventor. And he’ll be more than happy to tell you about all of his other talents. He’s a charming, self-centered, ladies-man-in-training who wants to save the world, and make sure everyone knows he’s the handsome, ingenious hero who did it.  He brings Stark Tower with him to Avengers Academy so that he can work in his high-tech lab, relax in his high-rise hot tub, and remind everyone that he owns a skyscraper with his name on it.

·  Thor – He’s the literal golden god of Avengers Academy. An impossibly handsome, ridiculously strong, and unbelievably athletic exchange student who thrives on competition and seeks out confrontation. He’s effortlessly popular even though he never seems to really understand his new Midgardian classmates, and ends up causing trouble just as often as he saves the day.

·  Black Widow – She’s on a single-minded mission to uncover the Academy’s secrets, while avoiding her annoying classmates. Unfortunately, she has to trust people and make friends because she’ll need help from her fellow heroes to find what Nick Fury is hiding, and defeat dangerous enemies everywhere from Asgard to right under her feet.

These characters and many more will be available to play and interact with through many unique adventures in MARVEL Avengers Academyeach offering their own unique backstory to be unveiled through the gameplay. You’ll encounter a deep roster of fan favorites like the fun and bubbly Wasp, the blue-collar slacker Hawkeye, mischievous Loki, former janitorial robot Ultron, and of course overseeing all of it is Nick Fury, Dean of Students. Prepare to enter a vision of the Avengers universe that you’ve never seen before.

Sounds Like No Daredevil & Defenders For Avengers: Infinity War

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23140:]]

Josh Brolin previously let it be known that it’s “Thanos against everyone” when it comes to The Avengers: Infinity War movies; however, that doesn’t look to include the Marvel Netflix Defenders, which consists of Daredevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and Jessica Jones.

Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War co-director Anthony Russo recently appeared at Comic-Con Experience in Brazil and offered “it’s complicated” when asked about Marvel Studios having a crossover with Marvel TV. Here’s the blurb (via Super Interessante):

It’s complicated. When we start to serialize the telling of stories it’s difficult. You have to have a lot of control and focus on the course of history. The films are controlled by a group led by Kevin Feige, so they function as a unit. Other products, even if they are from Marvel, are controlled by others. Then there is the possibility of a crossover, but it’s more complicated. It is a smaller scale version of the problem that exists when remembering that Fox holds the rights to some of Marvel’s most popular characters, as does Sony and others. As storytellers, we only have control over what happens in Marvel movies, but everything is possible, Spider-Man became possible!

The “complication” shouldn’t be too surprising as earlier it became known that Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige had parted ways with those who run Marvel TV, which includes Ike Perlmutter, Joe Quesada, Brian Michael Bendis and Jeph Loeb.
