'Avengers: Secret Wars' Gets 'Doctor Strange' 2 and 'Loki' Writer

Avengers: Secret Wars will be written by Michael Waldron who is known for writing Marvel’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and the Disney Plus Loki series.

The flick is due out November 7, 2025, and presently has no director attached as of yet.

Deadline offers meetings for the writing gig took place in September and since Marvel trusts Waldron so much, he was the front-runner and got the job.

Michael Waldron also serves as executive producer and showrunner on Loki which currently has Season 2 in development and is the most-watched Marvel series on Disney Plus.

Waldron is also writing Kevin Feige’s Star Wars film for Lucasfilm which is currently in development.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness brought in over $955 million at the box office.

Fantastic Four, The Kang Dynasty lead into Avengers: Secret Wars

Avengers: Secret Wars also follows Avengers: The Kang Dynasty on May 2, 2025 which is being directed by Shang-Chi‘s Destin Daniel Cretton and written by Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania writer Jeff Loveness which will star Jonathan Majors in the titular role.

The Ant-Man 3 trailer also recently leaked online that was shown at the D23 Expo revealing Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man and Kathryn Newton’s Cassie Lang getting sucked into the Quantum Realm confronting Majors’ Kang, where Kang wants Scott Lang to perform a heist for him.

Hugh Jackman has also recently been announced to be returning as Wolverine along with Ryan Reynolds in Deadpool 3, where rumors off Hugh Jackman will also play Wolverine in Avengers: Secret Wars.

Rumors also offer the Fantastic Four movie will play a big role in Avengers: Secret Wars as Fantastic Four gets released prior to both Avengers: Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars on November 8, 2024.

It’s been suggested Ryan Gosling could play the MCU’s Doctor Doom, who in the comics, plays a big role in the Secret Wars event.
