Disney Jr. Expands Preschool Lineup with First-Ever Avengers Series, Spider-Man and More

Disney Jr. is adding a full slate of new programming featuring Disney, Marvel, Lucasfilm, and Pixar franchises, including the first-ever preschool Avengers series. The announcements came during the “Disney Jr. Let’s Play!” event at Disney California Adventure Park.

New Series and Specials

Cars: Lightning Racers
Debuting in 2027 on Disney Jr. and Disney+, this Cars spinoff follows Lightning McQueen, Mater, and new characters Pipes and Miles on fresh adventures in Radiator Springs. Returning voices include Owen Wilson, Larry the Cable Guy, Tony Shalhoub, and Cheech Marin. New additions include Leah Lewis, Yuri Lowenthal, and Sheryl Lee Ralph.

Marvel’s Avengers: Mightiest Friends
Evolving from the new “Marvel’s Iron Man and his Awesome Friends” series (premiering Aug. 11 on Disney Jr., next day on Disney+), “Marvel’s Avengers: Mightiest Friends” introduces kid versions of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes: Iron Man (Tony Stark), Captain America (Steve Rogers), Hulk (Bruce Banner), Black Panther (T’Challa), Black Widow (Natasha Romanoff) and Thor. Together, the young Avengers strive to be their best selves while facing off against classic Super Baddies.

Marvel’s Spidey and Iron Man: Avengers Team Up!
Two 22-minute specials are planned. The first premieres Oct. 16 on Disney Jr., followed by Disney+. It teams Spidey with Iron Man and the Avengers to stop Ultron and Green Goblin. A Halloween-themed special arrives in 2026.

Mickey & Minnie’s Holiday Songs: Halloween
Debuts Sept. 29 on Disney Jr. and Oct. 2 on Disney+. These new sing-along stop-motion music videos feature Mickey, Minnie and the gang as they get into the Halloween mood.

Returning Favorites

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse+
Seasons 2 and 3 are on the way in 2027 and 2028, continuing the modern version of the Emmy-winning series.

SuperKitties
Season 3 arrives Sept. 22 on Disney Jr., Oct. 1 on Disney+. The “Su-Purr Wild” arc will take the heroes into Kittydale’s Wild Jungle.

Casting Announcements

Sofia the First: Royal Magic
Debuting in 2026, Ariel Winter returns as Sofia. Original cast members Wayne Brady, Tim Gunn, Eric Stonestreet, Sara Ramirez, and Travis Willingham are back.

Hey A.J.!
Premiering in 2026, this series stars Amari McCoy as A.J., with Martellus Bennett, Jhené Aiko, Juliet Donenfeld, Innocent Ekakitie, and David Mitchell. Meghan Trainor will appear in a recurring role.

About Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures
The anticipated third season will debut this Fall. Set 200 years before “The Phantom Menace,” during the High Republic era, “Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures” follows Jedi younglings as they study the ways of the Force, explore the galaxy, help citizens and creatures in need, and learn valuable skills needed to become Jedi along the way. Season 3 follows the young Jedi as they delve into the world of droid care, befriending a droid shop owner named Dotti and three new droids: Beepers, Dozer and Gigi.

Disney Jr. continues to expand its reach by combining fan-favorite franchises like Avengers with new original programming, all aimed at introducing young audiences to iconic characters.
