Exclusive Deadpool Trailer Attached To Star Wars: The Force Awakens

A Deadpool trailer will be shown in front of Star Wars: The Force Awakens next Friday on IMAX. 

Update: According to Alberta Film Ratings, the Deadpool IMAX trailer will be 27 seconds long. In addition, two new Deadpool trailers are listed (which may be a PG-13 and a Red-Band version) coming in at 2 minutes and 24 seconds.

A user on Reddit who works at a movie theater posted a picture of the box that contains the Star Wars: The Force Awakens movie where listed are the following trailers:

Batman Vs. Superman
Captain America: Civil War
Deadpool
Independence Day: Resurgence
Jungle Book
Warcraft

Note: The Deadpool trailer may be new as it appears to be an IMAX 2D exclusive.

It was thought Fox was going with the X-Men: Apocalypse trailer (perhaps in different screenings for the Force Awakens?), but we see from the image some sort of Deadpool (assuming a non-Red-Band version) will be featured on IMAX.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens Friday, December 18th, with advance screenings kicking off Thursday night.

“Deadpool” has a February 12, 2016 release directed by Tim Miller starring Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, TJ Miller as Weasel, Gina Carano as Angel Dust, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Morena Baccarin as Copycat and Ed Skrein as Ajax.

Synopsis:

Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Lionsgate Adapting Stan Lee’s Romeo & Juliet: The War Graphic Novel

Back in 2011, Stan Lee and 1821 Comics published a futuristic science-fiction take on the classic Shakespeare play with Romeo and Juliet: The War.

Now it’s learned the graphic novel is getting adapted into a movie.

“What a treat it is to finally announce our partnership with Lionsgate on a project,” said Lee, reports Variety. “The story of Romeo and Juliet is one of my absolute favorites, and I can’t wait to bring our rendition of this classic to life.”

The Romeo and Juliet: The War movie is being written by screenwriter John J. Griffin, with Paris Kasidokostas-Latsis and Terry Dougas of 1821 Media producing. Stan Lee and Gill Champion of POW! will executive produce, and Erik Feig and James Myers will oversee the project for Lionsgate.

“Given their success with franchises such as The Hunger Games and Divergent series, Lionsgate is the perfect partner to adapt this graphic novel which is rich in visuals and set in an incredible, futuristic world,” Kasidokostas-Latsis and Dougas said.

The Romeo and Juliet: The War graphic novel was published in a limited giant edition format that set the Guinness World Record for the largest graphic novel. You can purchase it on Amazon.

I interviewed Stan Lee back in 2011 at the NYCC about the book, and the crowd around Stan Lee got so big, that the NYPD threatened to shut him down (it was crazy!). Check out the trailer narrated by Stan Lee below.

Bigger X-Men: Apocalypse Trailer Coming & New Poster Released

I felt the X-Men: Apocalypse trailer released earlier this morning was actually pretty decent. For one, even though the look of Apocalypse has been met with a lot of initial disdain and comparisons to Ivan Oooze, Apocalypse in the trailer looked better than the first promo images and thankfully wasn’t bright purple.

Now with the first trailer release, Bryan Singer lets it be known a new one will be coming next year, which he states will be even bigger than this one. Singer also talks a bit about what the story is about as the X-Men: Apocalypse Twitter Q&A has kicked off.

A new poster has also been released.

Fassbender offers some spoiler-filled details about what happens with Magneto following X-Men: Days Of Future Past in that the Master of Magneticism settles down in Poland, meets a girl and has a baby — and that’s when Apocalypse finds him.

Oscar Isaac talks about what motivates Apocalypse — in that it’s survival of the fittest, and Olivia Munn talks how surreal it has been getting cast as Psylocke.

Check out all the Star Wars fanboys and fangirls gushing over Star Wars: The Phantom Menace previous and following its 1999 release.

The video collects various fan reaction, which is mostly positive save for one negative comment at the end.

We even see reactions from celebrities such as Shaquille O’Neal and Lucy Liu who think the movie is the next best thing since sliced bread.

Obviously now we know it’s more like moldy bread.

Hopefully this isn’t an omen for Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

The high-end action merchandiser Hot Toys has posted a couple of images teasing their Batman Vs. Superman line.

Hot Toys puts out highly detailed action figures that happen to cost hundreds of dollars.

Check out the image below which includes Ben Affleck’s Batman suits and Henry Cavill as Superman. More than likely a Gal Gadot Wonder Woman figure will be released as well.

Cate Blanchett Rumored For Thor 3

At one time thought to be cast in Wonder Woman, it’s now reported that Cate Blanchett may be up for the role of a lead in Thor: Ragnarok.

Variety reported the news with no specific details known.

Update: THR is reporting Cate Blanchett is in final negotiations with Marvel for Thor 3 to play a “bad-ass female.”

Blanchett recently starred in the Peter Jackson Hobbit and Lord of the Rings films.

Thor 3 has a November 3, 2017 release directed by Taika Waititi starring Chris Hemsworth, with Tom Hiddleston said to be back as Loki, and Mark Ruffalo as Banner and the Hulk.

Maybe Blanchett is up for Hela?

Will Smith Rumored For Ben Affleck Batman Movie

A new rumor surfaces stating Will Smith may star in the upcoming standalone Ben Affleck Batman movie.

Latino Review is quoting sources who state Deadshot may appear in the Batman film, which would be a “major role” for Smith and make the film on par with Batman Vs. Superman in terms of star quality and characters.

According to the report, it’s not a definite thing with it stated it’s “rumble behind the scenes” and a big “IF things pan out.”

It’s further said Will Smith as Deadshot in a Batman movie would be a “The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly” type-of-scenario.

The Batman movie has yet to be announced (probably around Batman Vs. Superman‘s debut), and it’s also speculated that Ben Affleck will direct.

Affleck did recenly reveal he’s open to directing a solo Batman movie and did state the DC Justice League Universe will be massive.

If the Will Smith Deadshot rumor doesn’t pan out, there is always the rumor of the Red Hood for the standalone Batman movie.

Will Smith stars as Deadshot in Suicide Squad out next August.

Charles Dance Joins Female Ghostbusters Cast

In some late casting news, it’s learned that Charles Dance will be a part of the Paul Feig female Ghostbusters movie.

Dance is known for playing Tywin Lannister in Game of Thrones and plays an enigmatic alien in the upcoming SyFy Childhood’s End series.

The info comes from Inverse.com who speculates Charles Dance may be playing a villain and may give Vigo the Carpathian a run for his money.

“Ghostbusters” has a July 15, 2016 release directed by Paul Feig starring Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones, Chris Hemsworth, Neil Casey will play the villain of the movie, and Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray and Sigourney Weaver are confirmed to return.
