Stunt Driver Dies On Deadpool 2 Set

A stunt driver has died today on the set of Deadpool 2.

The Vancouver police tweeted out: A stunt driver has died on the set of Deadpool during a stunt on a motorcycle. VPD & @WorkSafeBC investigators are at the scene.

TMZ also posted an image of the accident along with a statement from FOX Studios: “We are deeply saddened by the accident that occurred on the set of Deadpool 2 this morning.  Our hearts and prayers are with the family, friends and colleagues of our crew member during this difficult time.”

Update: Ryan Reynolds posted the following:

It’s said the rider in the accident was a female who went airborne and landed on the ground with her bike crashing through the glass of a ground-floor studio inside Shaw Tower near Jack Poole Plaza. According to witnesses on the scene, the driver never applied brakes. The rider was pulled from the accident and taken to a hospital by ambulance.

Earlier also saw Tom Cruise suffer an injury on the set of Mission Impossible 6, and a stuntman on the set of The Walking Dead recently died after an accident. 

Deadpool 2 has a June 1, 2018 release directed by John Wick‘s David Leitch also starring Josh Brolin as the time travelling mutant Cable, Zazie Beetz as Domino, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Morena Baccarin as Vanessa, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Stefan Kapicic as the voice of Colossus with Shioli Kutsuna in a mystery role and Jack Kesy rumored as Black Tom Cassidy.

Deadpool 2 is written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick with Ryan Reynolds also on board as producer along with Simon Kinberg and Lauren Shuler Donner.
