Karen Gillan Wants To Play The Joker In The DCEU

Karen Gillan, who plays Nebula for Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy and is also known for Amy Pond in Doctor Who, wants to play the Joker in the DCEU as she let it be known at the recent Florida SuperCon!

A fan asked Karen Gillan who she would want to play outside of the Marvel Universe and Doctor Who with Gillan replying DC’s Crown Princess of Crime!

“Oh, can I say something DC? Okay, I’m going to say something DC, and I’m going to play the Joker. Maybe a female Joker.” 

Apparently the crowd let Karen Gillan know that there is an actual female Joker in the comics, which saw Gillan jump at the chance.

“This is my calling! Somebody make a call for me and let them know I’m available.”

In the DC Comics Flashpoint storyline, The Flash goes back in time and saves his mother which wrecks the timeline with one effect being that a young Bruce Waye dies, with his father Thomas Wayne going on to become Batman and his mother going insane and becoming Joker!

If we stuck with the continuity of the DCEU, Batman vs. Superman‘s Jeffrey Dean Morgan would play the Thomas Wayne Batman and Lauren Cohan would play the Martha Wayne Joker in The Flashpoint movie, which is in development.

I wouldn’t mind seeing Karen Gillan putting on the clown makeup though. Who knows? Maybe in the DCEU Flashpoint universe, Thomas and Martha Wayne have a daughter that goes on to become the Joker!
