Suicide Squad Trailer Trending #1 On YouTube

Suicide Squad Trailer

Currently the popular Hollywood trade news sites (now THR has joined in) are providing spin for Warner Bros. in that the studio is said to be disappointed by the leaked footage from Comic-Con. Some reports even offered that all the studios are considering not releasing any more footage at conventions due to the leaks.

Of course, I had to call BS on that as studios do leak stuff themselves and leaked footage is beneficial – as Ryan Reynolds just admitted regarding Deadpool.

Now we get futher proof from YouTube as the Suicide Squad trailer is currently the #1 trending video in just about every city in the United States.

It’s pretty much just like I said: The studios get double the promotion.

Now, who’s complaining (see below)?

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:21387:]]

Suicide Squad” has an August 5, 2016 release date directed by David Ayer starring Will Smith as Deadshot, Jared Leto as the Joker, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, Jai Courtney as Boomerang, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag, Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, Adam Beach as Slipknot, Karen Fukuhara as Katana, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Killer Croc, Jay Hernandez as El Diablo, and Scott Eastwood in an unknown role.

Sue Kroll, President Worldwide Marketing and International Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures:

“Warner Bros. Pictures and our anti-piracy team have worked tirelessly over the last 48 hours to contain the Suicide Squad footage that was pirated from Hall H on Saturday. We have been unable to achieve that goal. Today we will release the same footage that has been illegally circulating on the web, in the form it was created and high quality with which it was intended to be enjoyed. We regret this decision as it was our intention to keep the footage as a unique experience for the Comic Con crowd, but we cannot continue to allow the film to be represented by the poor quality of the pirated footage stolen from our presentation.”

Tilda Swinton Confirms Doctor Strange

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:21383:]]

Tilda Swinton has confirmed she will be playing the role of the Ancient One in Marvel’s Doctor Strange movie.

“No no no, it’s done,” Swinton told Screen Crush. “We’re so far in talks that we’re not talking any more [laughs]. It’s done. The conversation has been had.”

Swinton continues with mention about what appealed to her regarding Doctor Strange.

“I just really liked the premise of this and the idea of playing this character,” she said. “I’m a Marvel fan and I think this particular world that Doctor Strange goes into is really, really, really exciting. I’m really interested as both an actor and a fan to see what’s done in this particular world… The idea of playing The Ancient One is really just too tickling. I can’t say no to that!”

Swinton also confirms she’s signed on for a multi-picture deal with Marvel.

“Not at all. It’s like a family thing. Who knows where one might pop up. I don’t know where they’ll use me and I don’t know that they know, necessarily, even though they seem to know what they’re doing for the next decade. I think it’s like holding on to the tail of a galloping horse at this point.”

Doctor Strange has a November 4, 2016 release directed by Scott Derrickson starring Benedict Cumberbatch as Stephen Strange.

Press Release

Call Of Duty Undead Partners With Green Apple Entertainment For Worldwide Distribution

Film Slated To Be Released Fourth Quarter 2015

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:8392:]]Hot Iron Production, an independent film company that develops inspiring and innovative entertainment, announced today it has entered into agreement with leading independent film distributor Green Apple Entertainment for worldwide distribution of their original suspense action thriller Call Of Duty Undead (working title).

Green Apple Entertainment has a U.S. and international presence in over 30 territories providing quality entertainment through DVD, Blu-Ray, VOD, Netflix, SyFy, Hulu, Red Box, Amazon, Target, Walmart and more.

Call of Duty Undead is directed by Aleksandar Ivicic and Jim Clark III starring Kevin Tanski, Robert Woodley, Christopher Clark, Mike Sarcinelli, Kahley Cuff, Will Mutka, Gary Sundown, Rick Primerano and Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Artimus Pyle as Mr. Hoover.

“The beauty of filmmaking is that you never know what direction something will go,” Ivicic offered. “You almost never end with what you start with. The journey, no matter how long or short, is fascinating to me at every turn. In November 2011, Call of Duty Undead had its first treatment, and back then I never imagined as a creative artist that I would have the opportunity to share what I’ve written with the world. You can always hope, but you never know for sure. I’m very proud of all of the obstacles I have overcome in the making of this film alongside my crew, cast and of course fellow Producer Kevin Tanski. This project was a learning experience for a lot of us, and it helped us all grow as filmmakers. I’m very thrilled, that alongside Green Apple Entertainment, we will be able to bring the film to a wide range of platforms and audiences and inspire young filmmakers all over the world.”

“It’s been a long hard road for Mr. Ivicic and myself to jump through the hoops, learn the ropes and sidestep the obstacles to cultivate Call of Duty Undead from a small project to a point where teaming up with a powerhouse like Green Apple Entertainment is even possible,” Tanski added, who went from went from being lead actor to taking on the additional role of producer. “I am so thankful and excited to work with a company who has worked with so many big actors. It blows my mind that Call of Duty Undead could not only be so readily available on shelves, and possibly even television, in the US, but also to so many other territories and markets around the world. It is truly exciting.”

Call of Duty Undead is also produced by Mile Ivicic, Gary Dellaneve, Letisha Mercado, with Savo Ivicic and Matt McGloin serving as executive producers.

The film sees members of the Alpha Squad brought together to investigate the mysterious disappearances of high-profile individuals leading them into an all-out war for survival against a wave of undead experiments.

Call of Duty Undead is slated for a fourth quarter release.

Keep up with Call of Duty Undead through the film’s Facebook and iMDB.

Bryan Singer Hints At Original X-Men Costumes For “Apocalypse”

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:21373:]]

The costumes for the X-Men in X-Men: Apcocalypse look to be going closer to their more colorful comic book counterparts than ever before.

Bryan Singer participated in an interview over at Yahoo where he offered the following:

The X-Men are sort of a fighting team, so it was always an attempt at being realistic to have them in fighting uniforms, flight suits, things like that. In X-Men: First Class, which I produced and wrote the story for, we hark back to the original colors of the original costumes from the 1963 comics, which were all the same, they were uniforms. They eventually involved into the colors.

I will say that in X-Men: Apocalypse, there is a chance – without giving anything away – that you may get closer to seeing what I think, you are interested in seeing. I know its something that I’ve been interested in. I just always wanted to do it the right way.

Singer also says the new younger versions of the characters are different than the preceding films:

These are very different characters than they were in the films X-Men 1, 2, and 3. They are at times in their lives when they are at the most opposite of what they would become. That’s a thrill to me, to take characters I crafted so many years ago and flip them completely on their side and show how they evolved and began.

“X-Men: Apocalypse” has a May 27, 2016 release directed by Bryan Singer starring Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Nicholas Hoult, Evan Peters, Ian McKellen, Rose Byrne, Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, Alexandra Shipp and Oscar Issac.

Jesse Eisenberg Says Comic-Con Is Genocide

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:21372:]]

Update: Eisenberg clarified his statement (see below).

Jesse Eisenberg attended this past weekend’s Comic-Con as part of the Batman Vs. Superman panel and autograph session where it seems Zack Snyder’s choice of Lex Luthor found the SDCC a bit overwhelming.

“It is like being screamed at by thousands of people,” Eisenberg said, reports Yahoo. “I don’t know what the experience is throughout history, probably some kind of genocide. I can’t think of anything that’s equivalent.”

It probably should be noted that Eisenberg is more of an eccentric – than say a Stephen Amell – and doesn’t seem the type to bask in the limelight.

Regarding his character, Lex Luthor, Eisenberg offered at the Batman Vs. Superman panel:

“My character has been in obviously other movies. You know there is always a campy element to the character. I think there is probably real emotional groundedness to this version of it. I attribute that to the writer, Chris Terrio, is excellent… that is just such a phenomenal writer… gives every character in this movie real emotional core even though the situations are so heightened and theatrical.”

Eisenberg clarified his “genocide” statement later during the day with the press:

“Maybe on some cellular memory level, that’s the only thing that seems like an equivalent social experience,” he told AP. “Even if they’re saying nice things, just being shouted at by thousands of people, it’s horrifying.

“I of course was using hyperbole to describe the sensory overload I experienced. I sometimes do employ that,” Eisenberg added in a later interview. “I’m a normal person who has normal sensory experiences, so Comic-Con was very overwhelming for me. That said, it was really an honor to be on that end of such jubilation.”

“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” has a March 25, 2016 release starring Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Jeremy Irons as Alfred, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Ray Fisher as Cyborg with Callan Mulvey, Holly Hunter and Tao Okamoto in new character roles for the film. Justice League is to follow directed by Zack Snyder as well.

Synopsis:

Fearing the actions of a god-like Super Hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before.

Stephen Amell Says What’s Different About Casey Jones In TMNT 2 (Video)

Not only is Stephen Amell the Green Arrow, but the Canadian actor is also teaming up with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for the sequel as fan-favorite character Casey Jones.

IGN caught up with Amell at Comic-Con, where the actor dazzled the crowd revealing the new Green Arrow costume, and talked about Jones.

“He is not the Casey Jones that a lot of comic fans have come to know and love. He is a guy with a job that lives in New York and loves hockey. When things go awry, [and] when he goes through the normal methods of what someone would do when they’re [a] law-abiding citizen and he’s met with laughter and scorn… he decides to take things into his own hands.”

“Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2” has a June 3, 2016 release directed by David Green and produced by Michael Bay, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller, starring Megan Fox as April O’Neil, Will Arnett as Vernon, Stephen Amell as Casey Jones, Tyler Perry as Baxter Stockman, Brian Tee as Shredder, with the movie also featuring Bebop and Rocksteady.

Ryan Reynolds Says Deadpool Leak Is A Gift From God (Video)

There’s a big tizzy over the leaked footage from Comic-Con, where it’s been stated the movie studios are considering not releasing any more footage.

I just posted a rebuttal to that, and now Ryan Reynolds thanks the fans for the fact that the Deadpool footage was leaked.

Ironically enough, it’s Deadline’s sister site Variety that interviewed Reynolds (watch above) about thanking fans for their support, while Deadline is currently blasting fans for leaking footage.

“The fans of Deadpool are the reason we got to make the movie,” Reynolds said. “That test footage leaked… that test footge was never meant for anyone’s eyes except studio executives, and somehow it found its way on to the internet, and that is a gift from God for us.”

Likewise, The Walking Dead‘s Robert Kirkman, who missed Comic-Con due to a surgery, hoped the Deadpool trailer would be leaked as well.

” I wish you all a fun and safe Comic-Con,” Kirkman posted. “Someone please be sure to bootleg the Deadpool trailer for me!”

“Deadpool” has a February 12, 2016 release directed by Tim Miller starring Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, TJ Miller as Weasel, Gina Carano as Angel Dust, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Morena Baccarin as Copycat and Ed Skrein as Ajax.

Synopsis:

Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Movie Studios Holding Out New Footage Over Leaks At Cons? That’s BS

Suicide Squad Trailer

Can’t bite my tongue on this one guys…

The past couple of days saw the Hollywood trade news site Deadline (owned by Jay Penske, son of billionaire Roger Penske, and owner of Variety and TVLine) report that the movie studios are considering not releasing any more footage following the “leaks” that occurred this past weekend at Comic-Con.

Deadline went even so far as to call the fans that recorded the footage “copyright-thieving weasels,”– but we guess it’s okay when a rival site like THR posts an exclusive, and then ten minutes later Deadline reports the same thing without giving credit (lol).

While Deadline doesn’t cite specific sources that state the movie studios are not considering releasing new footage, they state: “Insiders said that this breach of etiquette might carry consequences at future Comic-Cons.”

I’m going to have to call complete BS on this one, guys.

I do know that studios intentionally leak stuff themselves (such as the Man of Steel shirtless Henry Cavill set pics), and they will even leak stuff intentionally to make sure the images are of high quality and not a paparazzi shot from a distance or a low quality fan pic.

I don’t know if they leaked the Comic-Con footage, but last year’s Batman Vs. Superman leaked trailer that went viral looked pretty obvious as some guy was holding up his camera high in the air seemingly near a doorway.

Regardless what’s what, we do know leaking stuff is beneficial; so to say, for example, that “Fox might not show any more footage at the SDCC” is ridiculous as even Ryan Reynolds, at this past Comic-Con, thanked the “asshole” who first leaked the Deadpool test footage as that is why the movie is now being made and why they are all at the Con.

In Deadline’s latest article on the leaks, they state WB couldn’t keep up with all the pirates out there, so they decided to release the Suicide Squad trailer.

That’s more BS.

How do I know? About an hour following the release of the official Suicide Squad trailer, the leaked version was taken down. Obviously, WB let the leaked version stay up for the free PR (guessing millions of dollars worth), and then went with the official version. So in essence, WB gets to release the Suicide Squad trailer twice (can’t go wrong there).

It’s not like the leak hurt the number of views for the official Suicide Squad trailer as it is (probably increased them due to the hype). Last I checked, on Facebook the Suicide Squad trailer has 6.7 million views, and on YouTube it’s at 3.9 million — and that doesn’t even include views by sites that use their own player.

I’m not sure why Deadline is trying to spin this – unless it’s just to add more hype – but hey, it is working and the fans are pretty happy, which in the long run makes the studios happy.

Why so serious, guys?

Update: Ironically enough, Deadline’s sister site, Variety, releases an interview with Ryan Reynolds who states the Deadpool leak is a gift from God.

Doom Not A Hacker In Fantastic Four Movie

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:21362:]]

Contrary to earlier rumors about the Fantastic Four movie that stated Doom is a hacker, Toby Kebbell clears the air stating it’s not true and offers the following about Doom (via SHH):

There’s no conversation about [Doom’s origins] in the film. We don’t have time to talk about me- I would love it, but we don’t have real time. Yeah, he’s still from the same place, his mother is still a gypsy and done her deals, his father still perished from exposure looking after me. He’s angry. He’s an angry dude. But now he’s in Baxter. He’s bright and he’s trying to make people proud. He found a new father in Dr. Storm, the father of Johnny and adoptive father of Sue. I kind of get adopted as well, in a fantastic performance by Reg E. Cathey. And that’s Doom as we see him. He’s a computer technician, a computer scientist. There were rumors he was a hacker or something, but no. Victor Von Doom is who we hope he will be.

Fantastic Four has an August 7, 2015 release directed by Josh Trank from a screenplay by Jeremy Slater, Simon Kinberg and Josh Trank; produced by Matthew Vaughn, Simon Kinberg, Hutch Parker, Robert Kulzar and Gregory Goodman; starring: Miles Teller, Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara, Jamie Bell and Toby Kebbell.

Synopsis:

FANTASTIC FOUR, a contemporary re-imagining of Marvel’s original and longest-running superhero team, centers on four young outsiders who teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe, which alters their physical form in shocking ways. Their lives irrevocably upended, the team must learn to harness their daunting new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy.

Numerous leaked videos of the Deadpool Comic-Con trailer are online, but Fox has yet to release a high-quality version, which is sort of odd seeing how Reynolds thanked and credited the leaked trailer from last year as the reason why the movie ended up being made.

Regardless why the real reason the Deadpool Comic-Con trailer hasn’t been released, Ryan Reynolds took to Twitter to offer something will be released in three weeks because the VFX shots aren’t quite ready.

Wesley Snipes Says More Blade Is A Strong Possibility; Teases Netflix (Video)

A couple of days ago saw Wesley Snipes mention he has been in talks with Marvel for more Blade, and now in the above video mentions a further possibility.

While promoting his latest TV series, The Player, IGN asks Wesley Snipes about more Blade.

“I can break this story right now,” Wesley Snipes said, which looks to be taken as sarcasm. “Marvel and I, Wesley Snipes, have decided to have further conversations doing another Blade.”

Snipes then took a slightly more serious approach continuing: “It’s a topic of conversation. It’s inescapable. They have their agenda. We have ours. We are both moving in an accelerated pace to create magic, so we’ll see if it all matches up. There’s a strong possibility, but if not, we have another project that’s going to rock ’em… that will stand toe-to-toe with Blade.”

With Snipes mentioning another project, he’s asked about having interest playing potential other characters, but is pretty mum.

“Yes, there are, but we’ll leave that for our next meeting,” Snipes said. “We’ll talk about that a little later.”

With Daredevil being such a success, Snipes is asked about the possibility of Blade appearing in some capacity on Netflix, with his answer perhaps hinting that is what the talks are about with Marvel.

“You mean Blade on Netflix without Wesley?” Snipes questioned with a laugh. “It will never work. I can’t see that working at all [laughs].”
