Lobo Movie Gets Teased

A Lobo movie looks to be still in development.

Writer Jason Fuchs has posted an image of the Main Main on his Instagram account including the hashtag: #portraitofabastich.

Fuchs, who also wrote the Wonder Woman movie script, has been working on a Lobo script as well.

Perhaps with the Deadpool movie being such a success, WB has decided to go forward with an R-rated Lobo movie.

At one time, a Lobo movie was in development with Brad Peyton and Dwayne Johnson attached; however, The Rock is now playing Black Adam in the Shazam movie.

A while back also saw Danny Trejo vying for the role of Lobo.

Fuchs’ hashtag references the Lobo: Portrait of a Bastich collection by Keith Giffen and Simon Bisley:

Don’t miss this new edition of the title collecting both the LOBO and LOBO’S BACK miniseries that helped make the Last Czarnian a legend, co-written by 52’s Keith Giffen! First, Lobo is sent to capture a crotchety old teacher who, along the way, makes life miserable for her captor. Then, Lobo must take in the most dangerous being in the universe — and is promptly killed. But heaven doesn’t want him and hell can’t handle him, so Lobo is reincarnated — as a woman with big guns and a very bad attitude! Collects Lobo #1-4 and Lobo’s Back #1-4.

Lobo Movie Rumored To Be In Development

It’s being said Warner Bros. is developing a Lobo movie with their Wonder Woman writer, Jason Fuchs, on board to write the screenplay.

According to The Wrap, following Wonder Woman, WB has confidence in Fuchs, so much so that they are allowing Fuchs to start from scratch with his own take on Lobo.

A Lobo movie was once in development with director Peyton Reed and producer Joel Silverman attached; Dwayne Johnson was circling the role; however, that Lobo movie never came to be, with Johnson going on to be cast as Black Adam in the upcoming 2019 Shazam movie.

Most recently saw a Lobo Easter Egg dropped in an episode of Supergirl, and actor Danny Trejo took to his social networks to create fan support to play the character.

It’s possible WB may have green lit the Lobo movie following the success of the R-rated Deadpool movie, as Lobo is known for being a rather violent and larger-than-life character as well.

I’ll quickly throw in my two cents: I hope Fuchs’ sticks closer to the original classic version of Lobo and stays the heck away from the New 52 version (which is just awful).

Lobo Teased In New Supergirl Promo

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:24403:]]

Check out a new promo below for the next episode of Supergirl, “Truth, Justice and the American Way,” which teases Lobo.

Alex Danvers question if its an international bounty hunter, with the Martian Manhunter replying, “No. We would know if he was in town.”

Lobo seems a bit much for this series, but maybe with the success of Deadpool, WB would green light a rated-R Lobo movie? Dwayne Johnson was at one time circling Lobo and the latest saw Danny Trejo seemingly vye for the role.

Supergirl does battle with the deadly Master Jailer (Jeff Branson), who is hunting and executing escaped Fort Rozz prisoners. Also, Cat hires a second assistant, Siobhan Smythe (Italia Ricci), who immediately tries to one-up Kara, and Kara and James disagree over the DEO’s methods, on Supergirl, Monday, Feb. 22 at 8/7c. Only CBS

“Supergirl” airs Mondays at 8pm ET on CBS.

Danny Trejo Teases Lobo

Could the Main Man be finally coming to the big screen?! Or the small screen for that matter?

Danny Trejo took to Twitter to seemingly tease Lobo by posted the following image along with: “First rule of hunting, Super Dupe. Make the target come to you. @DCComics.”

It more or less sounds as if Trejo is actually vying for the role of Lobo, then if he already has the part.

A Lobo movie was once in the works with Dwayne Johnson said to be up for the role and director Brad Peyton attached (and Guy Ritchie at one time), but the Lobo movie never saw the light of day.

Maybe Lobo could be headed to the Justice League movie universe or even the Arrow/Flash or Supergirl series.

Lobo Movie On The Back Burner But Still May Happen

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20603:]]

Obviously with Dwayne Johnson getting cast as Black Adam in the upcoming Shazam movie, the Lobo movie was placed on the back burner.

Lobo wasn’t a part of the recently announced slate of DC movies; however, that doesn’t necessarily mean Lobo may never happen.

Director Brad Peyton gave Coming Soon an update about Lobo offering that similar to Marvel (which makes sense), WB is going to focus on the core Justice League characters before branching out.

“I was really happy with the script, [though]. I talked with Dwayne about it. Joel Silver and I had a really amazing meeting about it. I did a rewrite of the script and was really, really excited for it. In their estimation, though, [Lobo] wasn’t one of those main guys… That’s fair enough. I think that, to do any kind of comic book universe correctly, you do need to establish, ‘Here’s the tone. Here’s the main people.’ Then we can grow offshoots from there. With Marvel, they’re now doing smaller characters like ‘Ant-Man’ and ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’. They obviously had to start, though, with their big guns and set up ‘The Avengers’. I kind of feel like that’s where DC is now. They’re setting that team up.”

While Lobo may not be considered a “main guy,” it’s possible the Main Man could always show up in another DC movie – possibly Green Lantern or even Superman, as Lobo in the comics is an intergalactic bounty hunter. We see Brad Peyton is pretty optimistic about the chances for Lobo as well.

“I think there’s going to be a really amazing time for ‘Lobo’ and I think people are going to realize, certainly once they revisit it, what they’re sitting on. But you never know. I’m really happy with the project and where we got it and fingers crossed it comes to fruition at some point.”

There has also been rumor of a DC Legion of Super Heroes movie, so the potential for DC Cosmic other than Green Lantern exists.

Brad Peyton reteams with Dwayne Johnson in San Andreas, which is out May 29th; maybe they will be paired up for Shazam in 2019.

Review: Young Justice: Invasion “Happy New Year”

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:1577:]]

Now that the Justice League has been restored to their proper mindset by the combined effort of the Young Justice team and Red Tornado, there are some questions that are in need of answering: “Where is the real Speedy?” and “Just what did the six Leaguers do for the sixteen hours they are unaccounted for?”

Jump five years into the future from last episode! The team is bigger, Robin is now Nightwing but Artemis and Red Arrow are missing! “Where are they, what happened?”

All that will have to wait, it seems a certain “Main Man” has taken a contract to cause a ruckus on earth. That’s right ya Bastich, Lobo is here to take names! But Wonder Girl and Batgirl have a little something to say — with their fists!

Reminiscent of Men In Black, things aren’t always what they seem! Adam Strange is brought in to help explain how to gather up all the aliens, and it is revealed that the six missing Leaguers are considered criminals off world! The teams split up and it’s Blue Beetle, Lagon and Tim Drake Robin that take center stage as they come across kidnapped humans and a hive of aliens! The youngsters prove themselves in the eyes of the League and Young Justice, and it all wraps up with the Zeta Team arriving on Rann. To be continued!

This was a great episode, especially since we get to see so many new characters introduced to the show. Yeah, we had to jump five years into the future to do so but at least the storyline runs smoothly from the last episode. Plus, John Stewart takes the reigns for most of the episode and he even mentions the Green Lantern Corps! Awesome! While some questions are answered, there are so many that arise in this episode! So many that I cannot wait until the next episode to see what’s in store! This is the best comic related cartoon series on TV today, and you owe it to yourself to check it out!
