There has been talk of a Lobo movie for quite a while, but nothing was ever officially announced, and Lobo was never announced as part of the DCEU slate of movies at Comic-Con.
Following Suicide Squad, it was also said plans were underway for a solo Will Smith Deadshot movie.
Now it’s being said that plans for both Lobo and Deadshot have been scrapped, which really doesn’t come as a surprise.
Warner Bros. recently announced Walter Hamada as the new president of DC-based film production, which follows the disappointments of Justice League, Batman vs. Superman and Suicide Squad.
We can guess that with Hamada now on board that any previous plans may have changed regarding various projects not set in stone.
Currently in development for the DCEU is James Wan’s Aquaman, which has a December 21, 2018 release; David F. Sandberg is directing and developing Shazam! starring Zachary Levi for an April 2019 release, and Patty Jenkins and Gal Gadot return for Wonder Woman 2 set for a November 1, 2019 release date.
