Conan the Conqueror Opens Following Conan the Barbarian

Will Beall, who is currently writing the Aquaman movie, is also writing the Arnold Schwarzenegger Conan the Conqueror (Legend Of Conan) film.

Talking with SlashFilm, Beall offers some new details in which is he co-writing Conan the Conqueror with Chris Morgan.

“It opens there,” Beall said. “It opens with this [hand on the chin]. It’s where you have to. It’s the sequel that we were promised and never got. I’m 11 when my father took me to see Conan the Barbarian which you should never take an 11-year-old kid to. It was a life changing thing. It’s an unbelievable movie. It comes back to [director John] Milius, right? There’s nobody better, and it’s a real movie. It’s a truthful movie. Chris and I from the very beginning said there’s no reason to do it unless it’s a worthy sequel to Milius’s Conan, and I think we’ve got that. I really do.”

Beall further confirmed Conan the Conqueror is under development.

“Chris and I are continuing to hone,” Beall said. “I think that’s going to be a great movie actually.”

Arnold Schwarzenegger also offered a while back that Conan the Conqueror sees him “sitting on the throne for years and years – decades, and then all of the sudden, the time comes when they want to overthrow me. So that story WILL be told and that movie WILL be done.”

No release date has been announced as of yet for Conan the Conqueror.

Shane Black Predator Movie To Be As Big As Iron Man 3; Arnold Might Be Back

If you happen to be a fan of the Predator, you will probably be happy by what director Shane Black has to same about the new Predator movie coming out in 2018.

Shane Black explains why he decided to take on the new Predator film and cites the reason being that Fox stated they want the movie to be as big as Iron Man 3, which means more epic and a larger budget than any of the other previous Predator movies.

To put it in perspective, the 2010 Predators movie had a budget of around $40 millon, while Iron Man‘s 3 budget was around $200 million.

Fox also says they want to make Predators as eventful and important as a Ridley Scott Alien prequel.

Sounds pretty awesome.

Here’s what Shane Black had to say via Thrillist:

They called me and I was reluctant. I said, “Look. You guys at Fox, I mean, I enjoy these movies, but we’ve been churning out these AVP whatever, they each cost a certain amount of money, they’re okay, but there’s no effort to elevate them or make them any kind of an event.” They’re just sort of another Predator. “Oh, there’s another one that came out.” They said, “What if we said to you we want to reinvent this, and really treat it with as much of an event status, or as much hoopla as we would the Alien prequel, which is coming out also? We really want to make this something. The kind of movie that people line up for.” I said, “Really, you’ll spend a bunch of money?” They go, “Yep.” I go, “Make it really scale, spectacle?” “Yep.” “Shit, that sounds interesting.”

I think the first one was great, and it was contained, and it was a perfect little gem for what it was. I think there’s an expansion that needs to take place, and also just a love for that era, that movie, and the mythology of the Predator. I think that they came to me knowing pretty much that… they said, basically, if I wanted to make Predator but treat it like it was Iron Man III instead of just another little movie. I said, “Let’s really do it right this time.”

And regarding whether or not Arnold Schwarzenegger will be back:

Still in talks, script still a secret.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Confirms Terminator 6

While Paramount recently yanked the next Terminator movie from its release schedule, according to Arnold Schwarzenegger, Terminator 6 is still happening.

“I am looking forward to it, absolutely,” Schwarzenegger told Australia’s Channel 9 when asked about another Terminator film.

Arnold didn’t mention a release date or any other details, and Paramount hasn’t confirmed the next Terminator as well.

There were plans for a Terminator Universe at one point. Possibly with Terminator: Genisys not doing as well as hoped (a measly $90 million in the U.S.), Paramount and Arnold may be going back to the drawing board. There is still a big international audience for Terminator (Genisys scored over $350 million internationally), so hopefully they can get Terminator right.

The Terminator rights are scheduled to revert back to James Cameron in 2019 who hasn’t seemed too interested; however, that could always change, and maybe has.

Batman Vs. Superman Training For Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill & Gal Gadot Detailed In Muscle & Fitness Magazine

Batman Vs. Superman Final Trailer

The latest issue of Muscle & Fitness magazine has a featured article on Batman Vs. Superman covering the physique transformations of Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill and Gal Gadot

Regarding Ben Affleck, who worked with his Town trainer, Walter Norton Jr, highlights include:

After consulting with Batman v Superman director Zack Snyder, they decided they didn’t want Affleck to look at all like he did in The Town. And they definitely didn’t want him to look like Christian Bale or Michael Keaton. They were thinking bigger. Much bigger.

In fact, initially some within the studio even had the idea that Ben could transform himself into a young Arnold Schwarzenegger. “We got a good chuckle out of that,” says Norton. “You’re talking about maybe the best body of all time.” Eventually, more logical heads prevailed, and the target look for Affleck became an MMA heavyweight fighter.

“With Batman, we had to get a physically imposing, powerful look,” says Norton. “And that takes a lot of reps. You have to be in the weight room day after day after day, so it certainly was a process.”

For 15 months, Norton and Affleck trained anywhere from 90 minutes to 2½ hours a day, typically six days on and two days of.

“We often worked out at 5 in the morning, or late at night.”

When filming for Batman v Superman finally began in Detroit in 2014, Affleck worked out daily in a three-car garage converted into a gym, using a hybrid program that was equal parts bodybuilding exercises and functional movements.

“Because we knew we had to train for such a long period of time, you’ve got to be a little more joint-friendly,” says Norton. “But you’ve got to add muscle, so there was certainly an aesthetic muscle-building element to it. He got very good at chinups and pullups. He’s very good at inverted rows. He added a lot of weight to his glutes and his legs that he hadn’t had before. His calves got a lot bigger. Certainly he’s got a great frame.”

Affleck’s size as the Dark Knight was a formidable 228 pounds, with a mere 7.9% body fat. And to make sure Affleck didn’t balloon to 250 pounds, he enlisted renowned nutritionist Rehan Jalali to design his diet. A typical day of eating: egg whites and oatmeal in the morning; salad, double protein, and vegetables at lunch; fish or chicken at dinner with brussels sprouts, cauliflower, or broccoli. “We were seeing that in our sleep,” notes Norton. “Rehan designed a great diet, and Ben followed it to the letter.”

Henry Cavill re-teamed with Man of Steel trainer Mark Twight:

Cavill spent his Christmas holiday in Salt Lake City at the gym — eating a lot, sleeping a lot (usually nine hours a night), and training a lot. The target body type this time around was similar to what it was for the first film, only larger. (So it goes with sequels.) Cavill came to Twight early on and said, “Look, I want to be bigger and stronger.” It was music to Twight’s ears — and probably Snyder’s as well.

“In [Man of Steel], Henry didn’t have another superhero to be next to, apart from General Zod,” says Twight. “In this one, because he was going to be next to Batman a lot, the general consensus was that he needed to be a little bit bigger.”

“His diet was in the 5,000-calories-a-day range, which is typical for anyone of his size in the gaining phase,” says Twight. “He still ate relatively clean, but he loved it because he had a lot of latitude.”

They paired this nutrition plan with grueling two-hour workouts in the gym. Pretty soon, Cavill’s measurables rose. “Six months into Batman v Superman,” says Twight, “his numbers were through the roof.” His deadlift neared 500 pounds. He was front-squatting 335 pounds. He did a lot of shoulder work, because there’s never been a superhero who didn’t have broad shoulders and a narrow waist. With Twight’s assistant, Michael Blevins, Cavill even spent time doing gymnastics work, like tumbles and handstands.

“We hit a lot of PRs compared with [training for the first movie],” says Twight. “And some of that, too, was not only improved physical ability but also the psychological changes of being confident enough to go after a heavier weight. You know, he was willing to take a little bit more of an aggressive attitude to the weight. And he was so much more physically capable on this one.”

The result was impressive. On Man of Steel, Cavill got up to 199.8 pounds and was cut down to 190 pounds for shooting. On Batman v Superman, Cavill topped out at 220 pounds and was walking around at 202 pounds, with 7 or 8% body fat. Which means he gained an extra 12 pounds of muscle compared with his shape for the first movie — when he was already rather big.

Twight also trained Gal Gadot for Wonder Woman:

Twight calls this nine-month process — including three months with her, one on one, in Tel Aviv — “challenging and immensely satisfying.” One of the primary challenges: convincing the slender 5’10” Gadot that it was OK to add a significant amount of weight. Twight says it required her to make a transformation in self-image and body image.

“Anytime you present someone with a really radical change, it’s hard to get them to buy in 100% to the idea,” says Twight. “So we took it in incremental steps. We went from a model to a high jumper, in terms of an athletic look. And then once she was comfortable with that, then we’d go a little bit further.”

“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” has a March 25, 2016 release starring Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Jeremy Irons as Alfred, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Ray Fisher as Cyborg with Callan Mulvey, Holly Hunter as Senator Finch and Tao Okamoto as Mercy Graves.

Synopsis:

Fearing the actions of a god-like Super Hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before.

Terminator “Universe” Said To Be On Hold Indefinitely

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:22300:]]

With Marvel’s success comes everyone else trying to hop on the bandwagon.

Of course it makes sense for Warner Bros. to do it with their DC properties, but now Transformers is trying to create a shared universe and, up until now, a Terminator Universe was also being planned (both by Paramount, BTW).

Prior to the release of Terminator Genisys, in addition to two more sequels, it was said a Terminator TV series was also being planned.

However, that isn’t the plan anymore.

Terminator Genisys tanked with its release in the U.S. ($27 million opening weekend), and while it did well overseas, it’s said the film will still loose money.

So who’s to blame?

According to THR, it’s 32-year-old billionaire David Ellison, who financed Terminator: Genisys.

According to the report, Ellison offered his “two cents” a bit too much which resulted in a sub par movie. The report notes that this is the current trend in Hollywood (save for Disney) in that studios get outside financing, which in turn sees the financiers (i.e. “producers”) getting directly involved with the movies — resulting in flops.

Another example given is Thomas Thull of Legendary Entertainment who scored success by parterning on the Nolan Batman movies, but ended up losing money on Pacific Rim, with the sequel in question as the release date was recently shelved.

Ryan Kavanaugh is another example given, with it noted his Relativity Media is in bankruptcy.

The moral of the story seems to be for these billionaires to “put up” and “shut up,” but the report mentions that might be difficult due to their billion dollar egos; so there may very well be a lot more subpar movies on the way.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Takes Over Celebrity Apprentice From Donald Trump

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:22115:]]

Following the dispute between Donald Trump and NBC which led to Trump being dropped from Celebrity Apprentice as well as the dismissal of his Miss USA pageant from the network, Arnold Schwarzenegger has been announced as the new host.

Below you can check out the official announcement.

ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER TAKES TO THE BOARDROOM AND IS NAMED ‘CEO’ OF NBC’S ‘THE CELEBRITY APPRENTICE’

Former Governor Brings His Business Acumen, Political Expertise and Star Power to Television as the Highly Successful “Apprentice” Franchise Enters a New Phase

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. — Sept. 14, 2015 — Twice-elected California governor and international movie superstar Arnold Schwarzenegger has been named new host of NBC’s “The Celebrity Apprentice,” which will return to the network for the 2016-17 season.

Schwarzenegger served two terms as governor of California, managing more than 300,000 state employees and a state budget in the hundreds of billions. He has successfully invested in both real estate and sports franchises, and is known to millions globally for his starring role in the “Terminator” film franchise. His films, over a six-decade career, have grossed billions of dollars in worldwide box office.

The former governor will replace Donald Trump who, in his role as host of the seven seasons of “The Celebrity Apprentice,” helped raise more than $15 million for charity.

“We are thrilled to be opening a powerful new chapter in the story of the ‘Apprentice’ franchise,” said Paul Telegdy, President, Alternative and Late Night Programming, NBC Entertainment. “Arnold Schwarzenegger is the epitome of a global brand in entertainment and business, and his accomplishments in the political arena speak for themselves. It was Arnold’s personal passion for the format that Mark Burnett and Donald Trump built over the last decade, as well as his fresh take on how to take it to new heights for today’s audiences, that made him the man to hire. ‘The Celebrity Apprentice’ … will be back!”

“The Apprentice” franchise is one of the most successful reality formats in television history. In “The Celebrity Apprentice,” business-savvy celebrity contestants work in teams and are asked to perform various tasks and win challenges, all the while employing a business model that promotes teamwork and, hopefully, ends with a financially successful outcome – all for a worthy charity. Contestants are subjected to long hours, grueling deadlines, intellectual challenges, personality clashes and intense scrutiny. Each task will end in the boardroom, where contestants must account for their actions or risk being “fired” by the host until one remains.

“After leaving the show to run for political office, Donald made it clear that he wanted ‘The Celebrity Apprentice’ to be able to continue to raise millions of dollars annually for worthy causes, and now NBC and I have found an amazing new leader to do just that,” said executive producer Mark Burnett. “Gov. Schwarzenegger will use his vast and highly successful business, political and media experience to drive this hit franchise to new heights.”

Previous “Celebrity Apprentice” winners include Joan Rivers, Piers Morgan, Bret Michaels, Trace Adkins, Arsenio Hall, John Rich and Leeza Gibbons.

Always politically active, Schwarzenegger announced his candidacy for governor of California on Aug. 6, 2003 on the “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.” Two months later he was elected governor in a recall of Gov. Gray Davis and was then re-elected for a second time in 2006.

As governor, Schwarzenegger worked with leaders of both major political parties to address the greatest challenges facing the state. His leadership put California at the forefront of the nation in addressing climate change, pushing for the development of renewable energies, rebuilding critical infrastructure, investing in stem cell research and putting in place health care and political reforms.

Since leaving office in 2011, he has continued to promote state and local clean energy efforts by founding the non-profit R20: Regions of Climate Action. Additionally in 2013, he established the USC Schwarzenegger Institute for State and Global Policy, devoted to seeking bipartisan solutions to environmental, economic and other public policy issues. He serves as chair of the think-tank’s board and also holds a public policy professorship at the school.

Schwarzenegger was appointed by President George H. W. Bush as Chairman of the President’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports from 1990-93, and also served as the Chairman for the California Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports under Gov. Pete Wilson. As an advocate for children, Governor Schwarzenegger championed the After School Education and Safety Act of 2002 (Proposition 49), which was overwhelmingly approved by voters. He authored and chaired the initiative, which is designed to make state grants available to every public middle school in California for quality after-school programs.

Schwarzenegger moved to the United States from Austria at 21 years old and was best known at the time for his bodybuilding career. He would eventually become the youngest Mr. Universe and a seven-time Mr. Olympia winner. By the age of 30, Schwarzenegger was a millionaire, well before his career in Hollywood. His financial independence came from his success as a budding entrepreneur with a series of successful business ventures and investments.

With an eye on acting, Schwarzenegger won a Golden Globe Award for the 1976 film “Stay Hungry” but would make his Hollywood breakthrough with the 1982 hit “Conan the Barbarian.” Over the next six years, he would cement his role as a huge box office star in several films, including “The Terminator,” “Twins,” “Predator” and “Kindergarten Cop.”

“The Terminator” would quickly become his best known film franchise and its popularity continues today. Most recently, Schwarzenegger starred in “Terminator Genisys,” which opened July 1 and has earned nearly $450 million globally.

“The Celebrity Apprentice” is produced by United Artists Media Group. Mark Burnett, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Page Feldman and Eric Van Wagenen are executive producers.

Schwarzenegger is represented by Creative Artists Agency and attorneys Patrick Knapp and Jacob Bloom of Bloom Hergott Diemer Rosenthal.
