Assassin’s Creed Victory 2015 Info Leaks Online

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:18092:]]

Information for next year’s Assassin’s Creed video game has leaked online.

Kotaku reports the new Assassin’s Creed game due out Fall 2015 will take place in London during the 19th century.

It’s stated the game has a title or code name of “Victory” and will be available for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

It’s also said Assassin’s Creed “Victory” will be the only AC game next year, and there won’t be two separate games like Unity and Rogue for this year.

Seven minutes of gameplay footage has also leaked, with it described to be the “best-looking incarnation” of the game to date.

According to the report, the footage offers new gameplay innovation in that a different fighting style will be utilized, and there looks to be a grappling hook as part of the character’s movements.

The game’s creator, Ubisoft, offered the following comment on the leak:

It is always unfortunate when internal assets, not intended for public consumption, are leaked. And, while we certainly welcome anticipation for all of our upcoming titles, we’re disappointed for our fans, and our development team, that this conceptual asset is now public. The team in our Quebec studio has been hard at work on the particular game in question for the past few years, and we’re excited to officially unveil what the studio has been working on at a later date. In the meantime, our number one priority is enhancing the experience of Assassin’s Creed Unity for players.

2014 Video Game Preview Podcast – Part 2

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:15585:]]

Here is part 2 of the Cosmic Book News video game preview podcast. You can listen to part 1 here.

Ubisoft Roundup

The panel discusses Assassin’s Creed Unity as another “annual installment” series game (not unlike CoD) which is teased for a 4th quarter release in 2014 in addition to another unnamed AC title that will probably be for last generation counsels.  Dan needs some clarification as to some details of Watch Dogs.  The panel discusses another very ambitious project by Ubisoft: Tom Clancy’s The Division.  This game has been confirmed to NOT be releasing any time in 2014 and has even been suggested as a lucky shot if it’s ready by holiday of 2015!?!  Regardless, the panel reviews what the game is about in addition to some of the unique selling points as well as a nice plug for MarcoStyleNL and his coverage of The Division.

Destiny

The panel discusses the significance of Destiny which releases September 9th 2014 and how much of a splash Bungie’s first game made out from under Microsoft’s shadow.  How strong will this franchise be and how well does it differentiate itself from Halo?  Casey leads the discussion surrounding gameplay, setup and story, but will this game just be another FPS?  Kevin seems to not care at all for this game because he has issues regarding some sci-fi shooting mechanics.  A slight disagreement arises thanks to debating the quality of recent Halo games and the suggestion that Destiny is a definitive Halo alternative.

The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt

Unfortunately, the third installment of the fantasy/action/RPG has been delayed until February of 2015 (provided it does not get pushed back any further).  Casey and John lead the discussion here and tempers runs pretty high regarding this game.  John and Kevin almost come to blows concerning Kevin’s inability to complete games in general and having a “valid” opinion concerning another sequel in this series in particular.  As a result, this segment is slightly abbreviated.  Giuseppe has a chance to explain what about The Witcher appeals to him despite not having been able to play either of the previous two games.

Batman: Arkham Knight

Rocksteady is back with a vengeance developing the franchise that made Batman cool in video games.  Batman: Arkham Knight releases October 14th 2014 and the major gameplay twist is using the Batmobile to navigate Gotham City.  The panel expects the same high level of satisfying combat and stealth, but how excited are we about more Riddler puzzles?  Will this game feature time trials with the Batmobile?  Will multiplayer from Arkham Origins return?

X-Men: Days of Future Past Gets Earlier Release Date; Swaps With Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes; Assassin’s Creed Pushed Back

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:8885:]]

Fox Studios has announced a new release date for X-Men: Days of Future Past as it gets moved up to May 23, 2014.

Originally the date was set for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, but that movie now has the July 14, 2014 release.

Fox has also pushed back the release date for the Assassin’s Creed movie from May 22, 2015 to June 19, 2015, perhaps in response to the rumored Star Wars: Episode VII May 29th release date.

Star Wars: Episode VII Rumored To Have May 29, 2015 Release Date

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:8878:]]Recently, a batch of Star Wars: Episode VII rumors hit the net, some reportedly true, while others maybe not.

However, an earlier rumor from the beginning of last month stated Star Wars: Episode VII could have a May 29, 2015 release.

Our DC Entertainment source dropped us a line that a Lucasfilm friend said the the movie will have the same release date.

The May 29th release fits in with the other Star Wars movies and is far enough away from Disney’s The Avengers 2 release date of May 1, 2015.

Currently, there are no other movies slated for the possible May 29th release date for Star Wars: Episode VII,  but Assassin’s Creed is due out out a week earlier on the 22nd.

Update: Assassin’s Creed release date has been pushed back to June 19, 2015.

It’s quite possible the Justice League movie could come out in June of 2015 or the Man of Steel sequel as well.

J.J. Abrams begins production on Star Wars: Episode VII at the beginning of next year in London.

Our source previously provided us a batch of Star Wars info that sounded like the leaked Reclamation series as well as details on a disciple of Palpatine.

Assassin’s Creed Starring Michael Fassbender Gets May 2015 Release Date

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:7851:]]

The Assassin’s Creed movie now has an official release date of May 22, 2015, Memorial Day weekend, and stars Michael Fassbender.

It’s based on the popular video game of the same name from Ubisoft, with Fassbender on as producer and Fox Studios getting the distribution rights.

I do believe Ubisoft is retaining creative control over the movie as well.

No director has been announced as of yet, but obviously with a release date for Assassins’ Creed in place an announcement should be forthcoming.

The video game sees the modern day equivalent of the Knights Templar forcing Desmond Miles to relive his memories in order to discover ancient artifacts.

The kicker is that Miles is a descendant of Assassins, and trained as one himself, but fled the lifestyle to live a more “normal” life.

The popular video games have taken place in various different timelines including The Crusades, The Renaissance and the American Revolution.

The most recent game, Assassin’s Creed 4 Black Flag, introduced a British man caught between the war amongst the Templars and the Assassins, set in the 18th Century.

It’s unknown which plot the movie will be following.

The May 22nd release date for the Assassin’s Creed movie has it coming three weeks after The Avengers 2.

It could also go up against J.J. Abrams Star Wars, which has a 2015 release.

Following is descriptions for each game:

Assassin’s Creed:

The game centers around the use of a machine dubbed the “Animus”, which allows its user to view the genetic memories of his or her ancestors, centering around the protagonist, a bartender named Desmond Miles. As Desmond relives the memories of one of his ancestors, the Assassin Altaïr Ibn-La’Ahad who lived in theHoly Land during the Third Crusade, details of a battle between two ancient sects – the Knights Templar and the Assassin Order – emerge as both scour for an artifact known only as a “Piece of Eden.”

Assassin’s Creed 2:

Assassin’s Creed 2 is an epic story of family, vengeance and conspiracy set in the pristine, yet brutal, backdrop of a Renaissance Italy. Ezio befriends Leonardo da Vinci, takes on Florence’s most powerful families and ventures throughout the canals of Venice where he learns to become a master assassin.

Assassin’s Creed 3:

The American Colonies, 1775. A brave young warrior fights to save his homeland. But what begins as a struggle over territory turns into an extraordinary journey that will transform him into a Master Assassin—and will forever change the destiny of a nation.

You are Connor, warrior son of a Native American mother and British father.  As the colonies draw closer to revolution, you will dedicate your life to the freedom of your clan –becoming the spark that ignites the revolution into full blaze. Your crusade will take you through blood-soaked battlefields to crowded city streets, to perilous wilderness and beyond. You will not only witness history—you will make it.
Set against the backdrop of one of the bloodiest Revolutions in world history, prepare to be drawn back into the centuries old battle between the Assassin’s Order and their sworn enemy, the Templars. Unleash lethal new skills and experience a stunningly realistic world created by Anvil Next, a new engine that redefines gaming.

Assassin’s Creed 4:

Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag tells the story of Edward Kenway, a young British man with a thirst for danger and adventure, who falls from privateering for the Royal Navy into piracy as the war between the major Empires comes to an end. Edward is a fierce pirate and seasoned fighter who soon finds himself embroiled in the ancient war between Assassins and Templars. Set at the dawn of the 18th Century, the game features some of the most infamous pirates in history, such as Blackbeard and Charles Vane, and takes players on a journey throughout the West Indies during a turbulent and violent period of time later to become known as the Golden Age of Pirates.

Michael Fassbender To Produce and Star in Assassin’s Creed Movie

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:2170:]]The star of X-Men: First Class, Michael Fassbender, will next take on a video game role with Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed.

The insanely popular Assassin’s Creed video game franchise will see Fassbender as the starring role as well as co-produce for the film adaptation.

Deadline has it that Fassbender and Conor McCaughan will develop the movie under their DMC Film studio. Initially, it was supposed to be spearheaded by Sony, but Ubisoft now desires to retain creative control; however, the movie may still be distributed by Sony as well as possibly financed. It’s noted that Ubisoft does not want something similar to Disney’s Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, which bombed at the box office.

The video game sees bartender Desmond Miles forced to access the memories of his descendants, members of the Secret Order of Hashashin (Assassins), by the modern day equivalent of the Knights Templar. They are seeking information on the ancient artifacts, the Pieces of Eden, believed to be able to stave off the coming end of the world.
