Disney and Lucasfilm have released a new promo trailer for Star Wars: Episode 1 – The Phantom Menace as the film returns to theaters for its 25th anniversary on May 3rd.

“Every generation has a legend…” states the video description. “#ThePhantomMenace returns to theaters May 3rd.”

Features a preview of The Acolyte

Details include Phantom Menace will be back in theaters for its 25th anniversary starting May 3rd with a preview of The Acolyte.

Tickets are now on sale.

“In addition to battle droids, podracers, Jar Jar, Darth Maul, and all of the Episode I goodness, fans will also be treated to an exclusive look at The Acolyte, the upcoming Disney+ series, as part of The Phantom Menace screenings,” stated the announcement from March. “The Phantom Menace returns to cinemas starting May 3. Your focus determines your reality — so make sure to get your tickets, and we’ll see you there!”

Star Wars: Episode 1 – The Phantom Menace was released on May 19, 1999 and is the first of the three prequels. The film grossed a billion dollars, which in today’s dollars would be $1.9 billion.
