Zack Snyder’s Son Teased As Robin For Batman Vs. Superman

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:21450:]]

Zack Snyder’s son, 19-year-old Eli Snyder, is being rumored for Robin in Batman Vs. Superman.

Photographer Clay Enos posted an image of Zack and Eli on Instagram adding, “Boy Wonder?”

The Batman Vs. Superman Comic-Con trailer did reveal a Robin costume, which leads to the assumption Robin was killed off by the Joker.

It’s possible Eli Snyder could be featured in a flashback scene featuring the Joker killing Robin. Zack Snyder previously used Eli in Sucker Punch, Watchmen and 300.

Another possibility could be Eli Snyder is playing Jason Todd, which might mean the Red Hood some time down the line.

Jena Malone is also thought to possibly be playing Robin in Batman Vs. Superman as Carrie Kelley.

“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” has a March 25, 2016 release starring Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Jeremy Irons as Alfred, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Ray Fisher as Cyborg with Callan Mulvey, Holly Hunter and Tao Okamoto in new character roles for the film. Justice League is to follow directed by Zack Snyder as well.

Synopsis:

Fearing the actions of a god-like Super Hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before.

New Spider-Man Costume Possibly Teased By Russo Bros.

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:21449:]]

Update: Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn confirms the Twitter account is fake.

Update #2: James Gunn deleted the above tweet fueling further speculation the Twitter account is in some way legit.

Is this a possible peek at the new Tom Holland Spider-Man costume for Captain America: Civil War?

Images surfaced on the “Russo Bros” Twitter account (unknown if official) possibly teasing a red and black Spider-Man costume.

In addition, it appears as if the “Sokovia Accord” is the movie version of the Civil War superhero registration act, as Sokovia was the city destroyed in Avengers 2.

Some of the other images appear to tease Peter Parker’s high school, the Ten Rings and possibly Spider-Man’s camera.

Joe Quesda, Marvel’s CCO, recently stated the new Spider-Man costume is awesome and that it will blow people away.

“Captain America: Civil War” has  a May 6, 2016 release date directed by Anthony and Joe Russo starring Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Elizabeth Olsen, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Frank Grillo, Paul Bettany, Don Cheadle, Emily VanCamp, William Hurt, Martin Freeman and Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther.

Synopsis:

Captain America: Civil War picks up where Avengers: Age of Ultron left off, as Steve Rogers leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. 3 Killed In “Trainwreck” Lafayette Movie Theater Shooting

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:21445:]]

Three years following The Dark Knight Rises shooting, a lone gunman entered a movie theater and fired upon the crowd killing three people and injuring many others.

The shooting took place during a viewing of Trainwreck tonight at the Grand Theatre in Lafayette, La., which saw the gunman take his own life.

It’s reported the alleged shooter is a white male, about 58-years-old, who entered the theater by himself. Authorities are not releasing the identity of the man just yet.

A witness on the scene reported she was in the theater with her fiance for the 7pm showing of Trainwreck when about 20 minutes into the movie she heard a loud noise and saw a white older man shooting.

“He wasn’t saying anything,” she said, reports The Advertiser. “I didn’t hear anybody screaming either.”

Katie Domingue said she heard about six shots before running with her fiance to the nearest exit, leaving behind her shoes and purse (via USA Today).

Another witness reports nothing precipitated the shooting as everything was quiet, there was no arguments or trouble (via CNN).

“A guy just stood up and started opening fire,’ the witness explained. “Every body scrambled, and the guy was just kind of at ease standing there just shooting. Never really attempted to leave.”

Bryan Singer Confirms X-Men & Fantastic Four Movie Talks

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:21443:]]

A crossover movie with the X-Men and Fantastic Four has been rumored for quite some time, with it also leaked that Fox is planning a movie via the Sony e-mail hacks.

Now X-Men director Bryan Singer admits talks are currently going on.

“Those ideas are in play,” Singer told Yahoo movies. “That would be a natural match-up because they’re both ensemble films and there is a natural mechanism by which to do it.”

Singer also teased how they will bring the two teams together.

“It deals with time,” Singer said. “That’s all I’m going to say.”

While talks are underway, a Fantastic Four X-Men movie is not guaranteed because it depends on the success of next month’s Fantastic Four movie as well as X-Men: Apocalypse next year.

“We’ll have to see how the films turn out,” Singer offered. “To just say you’re going to do it would be a mistake, you have to see how the films evolve before you make that decision to completely commit to that.”

Game Of Thrones George R.R. Martin Loves Ant-Man, But Not Marvel Villains

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:21441:]]

Game Of Thrones creator George R.R. Martin posted his thoughts on the new Ant-Man movie over at his blog.

Martin is a big Marvel fan and admits he was a bit worried they would mess up the movie as it features Scott Lang, and not Hank Pym, as Marvel’s choice of smallest superhero.

I had a lot of trepidation when this movie was announced. Would they do it right, would they capture the original Ant-Man from TALES TO ASTONISH and AVENGERS #1, the character I’d loved… or would they fuck it up?? I was eager for the film, but apprehensive about it as well, especially when I heard it would be about Scott Lang, not Hank Pym.

Martin continues with mention he actually loved the movie, which is up there as one of his all-time favorite Marvel movies, just shy of Spider-Man 2 (Raimi) and the first Iron Man.

I am relieved and delighted to report that they did it right.

ANT-MAN has a proper balance of story, character, humor, and action, I think. A couple reviewers are calling it the best Marvel movie ever. I won’t go that far, but it’s right up there, maybe second only to the second Sam Raimi/ Tobey McGuire Spider-Man film, the one with Doc Ock. I’ve liked most of the Marvel movies, to be sure, I’m still a Marvel fanboy at heart (Excelsior!), but I liked this one more than the first AVENGERS and a lot more than the second, more than either THOR, more than the second and third IRON MAN and maybe just a smidge more than the first (though I liked that one a lot too).

Oh, and I loved the ants!

While Martin mentions he did love the movie, the Game Of Thrones writer does offer he has few issues with the Marvel movies, which is, namely, that the villains are too similar to the heroes.

…while Yellowjacket makes a decent villain here (in the comics, of course, he was actually one of Hank’s later identities, after Giant-Man and Goliath), I am tired of this Marvel movie trope where the bad guy has the same powers as the hero. The Hulk fought the Abomination, who is just a bad Hulk. Spider-Man fights Venom, who is just a bad Spider-Man. Iron Man fights Ironmonger, a bad Iron Man. Yawn. I want more films where the hero and the villain have wildly different powers. That makes the action much more interesting).

Martin also wished there was more of Wasp, but at least the good news on that front is Wasp will be a big part of an upcoming Marvel Phase 3 film.

“Ant-Man” is currently in theaters.

Wasp Cut From Captain America: Civil War

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:21437:]]

It’s learned early drafts of Captain America: Civil War included the Wasp.

Wasp was revealed in the Ant-Man movie, first as Janet Pym in the microverse scene, and then Han Pym gave the Wasp suit to Hope in the mid-credit scene.

While Marvel Studios president and producer Kevin Feige recently revealed Wasp will be a big part of an upcoming movie, it’s learned it won’t be Captain America: Civil War.

“She was included in early versions of [Captain America: Civil War] but there are so many characters in Civil War that we didn’t want to do her a disservice, like she flies in, ‘I’ve got the costume now’, and she flies out,” Feige told SlashFilm.

Feige continues with confirmation Ant-Man will be in Civil War, as well as that Wasp will be featured in Marvel’s Phase 3 plans.

“With Ant-Man, and I’m not saying thats what Ant-Man does in the movie, but we already know him, we’ve already seen him,” Feige offered. “We haven’t seen her as Wasp and we don’t want to rob the opportunity of seeing her in the outfit for at least almost the first time, and seeing her dynamic with Scott in a way it could play out, so we’re saving it. But its going to be in Phase three for sure.”

“Ant-Man” is currently playing in theaters, and “Captain America: Civil War” hits May 6, 2016.

Ant-Man #1 At Box Office, But Falls Short Of Estimates

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:21431:]]

The official box office numbers for Marvel’s Ant-Man are in, which sees the film performing under expectations.

While Ant-Man came in as the #1 movie at the box office this weekend, it brought in only $55.4 million, which is less than the $56-65 million estimated.

Ant-Man currently has a $112.6 million worldwide cume, which is also below estimates of around $114.4 million.

It should probably be noted that all of the Marvel Studios sole-character films peformed similar numbers, except for Iron Man:

Incredible Hulk – $55.4 million

Captain America: The First Avenger – $65 million

Thor – $65.7 million

Iron Man – $98.6 million

Ant-Man is arguably the least known Marvel character on the big screen, and his powers are a bit odd, but I felt the movie was easily Marvel’s most accessible film for a non-comic audience.

Currently at WB’s Rotten Tomatoes movie aggregate review site, audience approval for Ant-Man is at 92%. Critic reviews stand at 80% positive, which seems to to be a good sign as the reviews were hovering around 70-ish.

It will be interesting to see what happens with Marvel’s upcoming slate of movies, which feature unknown characters as well, with Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel and Inhumans. Black Panther might be okay as it spins out of Captain America: Civil War, which is essentially Avengers 3.

Bigger & Better Quicksilver Scene Coming For X-Men: Apocalypse

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:21430:]]

Evan Peters was the scene-stealer in X-Men: Days Of Future Past as his Quicksilver quickly won fans over; now it’s learned X-Men: Apocalypse will feature an even bigger and better Quicksilver scene as MTV caught up with Peters.

“Well, yeah, it’s always difficult to try to top something like that. The special effects guys, man, they absolutely nailed that and did a fantastic job on it. This year we’re working on something that’s bigger and better, keeping the same elements that worked, then adding a few new ones. I’m really excited to see it all cut together, and I’m excited for people to see it, too. I think it’s going to be a really fun sequence in what is going to be a massive X-Men movie. The scope of it — with the end of the world and Apocalypse coming — is going to be a very large, epic ’X-Men’ film.”

“X-Men: Apocalypse” has a May 27, 2016 release directed by Bryan Singer starring Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Nicholas Hoult, Evan Peters, Ian McKellen, Rose Byrne, Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, Alexandra Shipp and Oscar Issac.

Watch: Martin Freeman Talks Captain America: Civil War

Check out Martin Freeman talking about his secret character in Captain America: Civil War.

Freeman offers:

“He works for the American government. He works in conjunction with the superheroes, and certain agencies that help to tame the superheroes’ power, I suppose. So you’re not quite sure which side he’s on. It looks a little bit like he’s playing one game when actually he’s playing another. It’s the kind of character I like because it’s ambiguous and because you don’t know whether he’s good or bad. I like that area that isn’t black or white, I like the grays, because there’s just more fun to be had in not playing one obvious line. I like that.”

The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain.
