The Michael Keaton Batman may not have been cut from Aquaman 2 after all according to Jason Momoa.
Following Jason Momoa confirming the Ben Affleck Batman for Aquaman 2, it has been thought that Affleck has been brought in to replace the Michael Keaton Batman who saw his appearance canceled in the Batgirl movie.
However, things may have changed with the recent news that Aquaman 2 has seen its release date pushed back following The Flash, as obviously The Flash movie needs to come out first to introduce Keaton into the DCEU, which wasn’t the case before the recent release date changes but is now happening.
While attending the premiere of Apple TV’s See Season 3, the AP caught up with Momoa and asked about reuniting with Ben Affleck and Batman where Momoa teased multiple versions of Batman for the sequel.
“I can’t tell you anything about the reunion. He may or may not be in it. And there could be more or less or even more Batmans in it. Who knows,” said Momoa.
Jason Momoa reunites with Ben Affleck in Aquaman 2
Regarding reuniting with Ben Affleck, in a separate interview at the premiere for See, Momoa did say a lot of surprises are in store for the movie.
“I love Ben. I love him deeply,” said Momoa. “And, yea… F— it. Ben’s coming back… “Yeah, it’s wonderful. We have a lot of surprises. It’s a fun journey and a lot of laughs and I’m excited for everybody to see it.”
So it seems as part of those surprises is that Aquaman 2 will feature both Ben Affleck as Batman and Michael Keaton as Batman, much like what will also happen with The Flash.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom now has a December 25, 2023 release date directed by James Wan who recently shared cool Black Manta concept art, and the film also stars Patrick Wilson and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II.
The Flash kicks off the DC Multiverse
Assuming the news is true, that means the DC Multiverse story looks to be staying in place, which looks to be kicking off with The Flash on June 23, 2023.
Recently also saw it said Ezra Miller is seeking help and met with WB brass in order to save The Flash and possibly his role as DC’s Scarlet Speedster.
While the official plot of The Flash is yet to be released, the flick has been described as introducing the DC Multiverse as Barry Allen breaks the bonds of physics and crashes into parallel dimensions leading to encounters with different versions of the DC superheroes including versions of Batman and Supergirl.
It’s been said that as The Flash travels back in time to save his mother and reverse her death, Barry causes drastic changes to the DC timeline that sees The Flash connect to new universes, which is where the Michael Keaton Batman ’89 universe comes in and the Sasha Calle Supergirl, as well as possible alternate versions of Michael Shannon as Zod and Antje Traue as Faora from Man of Steel.
