Zack Snyder Reminds Fans Why Gal Gadot Is Wonder Woman

Zack Snyder is keeping the DCEU nostalgia going, this time sharing Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman screen test from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

The footage shows Gadot as Diana Prince opposite Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne, giving fans a rare look at one of the earliest moments that helped lock in Snyder’s version of Wonder Woman.

Snyder posted the clip on Instagram and wrote, “This was Gal’s screen test — and I knew instantly she was Wonder Woman. Shot on film by the incredible.”

Snyder tagged Batman v Superman cinematographer Larry Fong, who goes by @unclewow on Instagram. Today also happens to be Gal Gadot’s 41st birthday.

Gal Gadot Faces Ben Affleck’s Bruce Wayne

The screen test features Gadot dressed as Diana Prince, speaking with Affleck’s Bruce Wayne in a dark, formal setting.

The footage appears to capture the same type of tension the two characters would later have in Batman v Superman, where Bruce and Diana circle each other before revealing they are both hiding bigger secrets.

Gadot’s Diana is calm, confident, and guarded. Affleck’s Bruce is direct and controlled. Even in the screen test, the chemistry between the two is easy to see.

That seems to be exactly what Snyder is pointing to with his caption. He says he knew “instantly” Gadot was Wonder Woman.

Zack Snyder Credits Larry Fong

Snyder also made a point to credit Larry Fong, the cinematographer behind Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Fong’s work on the movie helped define the darker, mythic look of Snyder’s DC universe, including the introduction of Gadot’s Wonder Woman and Affleck’s Batman.

The screen test being shot on film also fits with the visual style Snyder and Fong brought to Batman v Superman, which remains one of the most visually discussed DC movies nearly a decade later.

Snyder Recently Shared New Wonder Woman Poster

The screen test follows Snyder recently sharing a new Wonder Woman poster featuring Gadot as Diana.

That poster was part of a three-image set featuring Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman. The images spelled out “Dawn of Justice” across the bottom, with Snyder captioning the post: “power of the Trinity. Batman. Superman. Wonder Woman. Myth. Strength. Truth.”

The Wonder Woman poster showed Gadot’s Diana in profile, covered in golden light, with the word “Of” at the bottom.

The post put the focus back on Snyder’s DC Trinity: Ben Affleck’s Batman, Henry Cavill’s Superman, and Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman.

Snyder Also Shared Wonder Woman Justice League Image

Snyder has also recently shared another Gadot Wonder Woman image, this one from his Justice League era.

That image featured Wonder Woman wearing Batman’s gauntlets, which sparked more fan discussion about Snyder’s unused Justice League plans and the character dynamics that were never fully explored on screen.

For SnyderVerse fans, these posts continue to hit the same nerve: Affleck, Cavill, and Gadot were supposed to have a much bigger DC future together.
