X-Men Rumored To Marvel & Avengers Again; Singer Leaving Franchise?

Once again it’s being rumored that the X-Men will be coming back to Marvel.

Back last July saw a rumor hit that Fox and Marvel are planning an Avengers and X-Men move for 2020.

Now it’s being said that following X-Men: Apocalypse, the X-Men will be rebooted within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, though Fox will still retain the rights.

The latest info comes from Comic Planet Culture For Life that also states X-Men: Apocalypse will be Bryan Singer’s last X-Men movie.

It’s also again said an announcement will be forthcoming; the first rumor stated an announcement about the X-Men and Marvel Avengers movie would be made at this year’s Comic-Con, which follows the May premiere of X-Men: Apocalypse. Whether the announcement comes this year (if it happens) remains to be seen, but Disney could always announce the Avengers and X-Men event in 2017 at their D23 Expo which just moved to the month of July (the month Comic-Con is normally held).

Regarding any evidence that Fox is teaming with Marvel for Avengers and X-Men, back about two years ago Kevin Feige said “never say never” regarding Marvel teaming up with any of the other studios. Of course, now we know Marvel is working together with Sony on Spider-Man.

Notable X-Men producer Lauren Shuler Donner is also close to Marvel’s Kevin Feige, as the two worked together, and previously offered she would “love it” if the characters worked together with an enthusiastic “yeah, absolutely,” when questioned about a potential X-Men and Marvel crossover.

Possible further evidence may lie with the recent smash hit Deadpool movie, which features Marvel’s Avengers hellicarrier in the climactic scene. The Hellicarrier in Deadpool was confirmed by the concept artist: “[I] was asked to redesign the helicarrier so it looked as different as possible from the one in The Avengers. And it had to look like it had been taken apart in some places,” Emmanuel Shiu said.

It’s also suggested the previous rift between Marvel Comics and Fox may be over as Marvel Comics is now producing various X-Men related comic books. Marvel Comics previously killed off various X-Men characters including Wolverine and blew up the cast of the Fantastic Four reboot in one of their books. There is also the fact Marvel and Fox are working together on the FX X-Men TV series Legion and Hellfire.

Regarding Fantastic Four, no rumors have suggested the property may be going back to Marvel, but if the X-Men rumors pan out, more than likely Kevin Feige and Marvel will be coming in to save the day for FF as well.

New X-Men: Apocalypse Olivia Munn Psylocke Image

X-Men: Apocalypse Super Bowl Trailer

Check out a new pic below of Olivia Munn as Psylocke for X-Men: Apocalypse. Munn also told CNet what she likes about the character:

I’ve loved Psylocke for so long. She’s a really, really strong badass female character in this comic book world where a lot of times the women don’t get to be strong and badass. You see a lot of superheroes [who] don’t always want to kill, and they’ll avoid it if they can. She’s never had a problem killing, and I like that she was the bad guy that had no problem being the bad guy. She’s telekinetic and telepathic so she can read your mind. She can create anything with her mind. To win any fights, she can just create a mountain and have it fall down on you, but she chooses to create a sword so she can kill up close and personal. I always thought that was really cool and badass.

Green Goblin Marvel Heroes 2016 Trailer; Beast & Archangel Join Game

GREEN GOBLIN Glides Near as BEAST Roars Into Advance Pack 3

With updates like playable Green Goblin, Beast joining the last days of the Advance Pack 3, an Archangel Team-Up and more, there’s a lot to look forward to in Marvel Heroes 2016

Green Goblin Glides Near
You might be wondering why Gazillion selected Green Goblin – one of Marvel’s most notorious Super Villains – as the 56th playable character in a game called Marvel Heroes 2016. Longtime players know the story-based reason: During the events of AXIS, Captain America needed all the help he could get against the unyielding power of Red Onslaught, so he enlisted the aid of Green Goblin and the Thunderbolts – Super Villains forced against their wills to use their power for good. But we prefer the practical reason: HE’S SO MUCH FUN TO PLAY!!!

Norman Osborn swoops in on his Goblin Glider to terrorize enemies with Pumpkin Bombs, Razor Bats, and other iconic weaponry, all accompanied by a fiendishly maniacal vocal performance by Travis Willingham. He’ll be available in-game this Friday, March 4, and players can pre-order his Hero Pack for 10% off the regular price of $17.99 – including an alternate costume and other goodies – at http://store.marvelheroes.com.

And there’s still one other way to pre-order him…

Beast Joins the Advance Pack 3, on Sale Until Friday, March 4

Since January, the Advance Pack 3 has offered players a huge discount on all seven character releases for the coming year: Green Goblin, Elektra, Angela, Nick Fury, Black Bolt, Ultron, and one to be named later. We’re happy to reveal, the final slot goes to the most intelligent and agile of the original X-Men – Beast! Now an invaluable member of the Uncanny Inhumans in the comics, our blue-furred, philosophically focused friend rounds out what may be the most diverse cast of Advance Pack playable characters ever assembled. You’ll have to act quickly, though – oh, my stars and garters, the Advance Pack 3 leaves the Store this Friday!

And speaking of original X-Men…

Team Up With Archangel!
Along with Beast, Warren Worthington III was one of Professor Xavier’s first five recruits to his School for Gifted Youngsters in THE X-MEN #1. They’ve both gone through considerable changes – though rogue experimentation resulted in blue fur for Beast, a run-in with Apocalypse destined Warren to go from the optimistic Angel to the metal-winged, rough-edged Archangel. Voiced by Liam O’Brien and with a look inspired by his appearance in Craig Kyle and Chris Yost’s classic 2008 X-FORCE run, Archangel fights by your side starting this Friday.

And Some Other Quick Notes…
Emma Frost and Ghost Rider are both having their power sets improved in the near future.
Have you played as Deadpool yet?
Stay tuned for Daredevil news…

Fox Casts Legion TV Series Actors

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:24139:]]

Casting news for the upcoming Legion TV series has become known with Downton Abbey star Dan Stevens set to play David Haller.

In addition, Deadline reports Aubrey Plaza (Parks and Recreation) will play David’s friend Lenny, who despite a life of drugs and alcohol abuse, knows that any day now her life is gonna turn around, which gives her the likeable energy of the impossible optimist despite her rough demeanor.

Jean Smart (Designing Women) is playing Melanie, a nurturing, demanding therapist with a sharp mind and unconventional methods. Keller plays the self-sufficient and street-smart Syd, who uses her sharp and prickly demeanor to protect her soft core, because even though it makes her a sucker and puts her at risk, she still believes in happily ever after.

Rachel Keller (Fargo) is said to play the female lead, described as a scrappy, optimistic woman in her 20s. Details about her potential powers and specific role are unclear.

The plot of Legion is described as:

Legion introduces the story of David Haller (Stevens), based on the Marvel comics character Legion, the son of X-Men founder Charles Xavier. Since he was a teenager, David has struggled with mental illness. Diagnosed as schizophrenic, he has been in and out of psychiatric hospitals for years. A haunted man, David is getting tired of finding his way back to sanity and is about to give up when he meets the girl of his dreams, a fellow patient. After the strange encounter, he’s confronted with the possibility that the voices he hears and the visions he sees might be real.

It’s also previously been said the Legion TV series will not be a part of the X-Men movie universe.

Fargo‘s Noah Hawley wrote the pilot and serves as an executive producer along with X-Men’s Lauren Shuler Donner, Bryan Singer and Simon Kinberg; Marvel TV’s Jeph Loeb is also on board as an EP as is Jim Chory and John Cameron.
