Hugh Jackman Wraps Wolverine 3 With A Shave (Video)

Hugh Jackman has finished filming his last Wolverine movie.

The nine-time Wolverine actor took to his social media to post video of himself shaving off his muttonchops for the last time.

“My wife is going to be very happy,” Jackman posted on Twitter.

The third Wolverine movie will also be the last X-Men film for Patrick Stewart who reprises as Professor X.

No plot details are known for The Wolverine 3, but Hugh Jackman did previously tease some sort of adaptation of the Marvel Comics “Old Man Logan” storyline. In addition, Hugh Jackman asked fans what they most wanted to see in his last outing as the adamantium-wielding bersker-raging mutie with fans responding the yellow Wolverine suit and another battle versus Sabretooth.

It’s also unknown what will happen following the departure of Hugh Jackman from the Wolverine role: Will Fox reboot the character? Or will Fox go the James Bond route with Wolverine and simply use a new actor?

Hugh Jackman first appeared as Logan and Wolverine in the 2000 Bryan Singer X-Men movie.

The untitled “Wolverine” 3 has a March 3 2017 release directed by James Mangold also starring Elizabeth Rodriguez, Boyd Holbrook, Stephen Merchant, Richard E. Grant, Doris Morgado and Eriq La Salle.

Simon Kinberg Updates Gambit, New Mutants, Deadpool 2, Wolverine & New X-Men Movie

We get an update on the X-Men movie universe from Simon Kinberg at the recent 2016 Saturn awards.

Kinberg offers news on Wolverine, Deadpool 2, a new main X-Men movie, New Mutants and Gambit.

“We’re figuring that out now,” Kingerg responded when asked what’s next from the X-Men franchise. “The first thing up, we’re shooting the Wolverine movie right now, and we start shooting Deadpool 2 at the beginning of next year, and I sit down and start writing the next one of the mainline X-Men movies real soon.”

On New Mutants, Kinberg offered:

“I can’t tell you what the roster is, but I can tell you who the director is, which is Josh Boone who directed Fault In Our Stars,” Kinberg said. “We have a really good script and hoping to shoot that real soon, too. It’s very loyal to the comics. I’ll leave it at that.”

While the release of the Channing Tatum Gambit movie has been delayed, Kinberg says he hopes to film next year.

“Yeah. We have a great script on that and hope to shoot that movie at the beginning of Spring of next year.”

X-23 & Mr. Sinister Rumored For Wolverine 3

The first set photos for the untitled third Wolverine recently hit the net featuring Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart and an unknown young girl.

It’s being speculated that young girl may be X-23, the female clone of Wolverine.

It’s also being further speculated that Richard E. Grant may be playing Nathaniel Essex, aka Mr. Sinister, who was teased in the post-credit X-Men: Apocalypse scene.

In addition, a possible character breakdown has hit the net for X-23 as well.

The Hashtag Show YouTube posted the following info for the X-23 character break down (via CBM):

• Code Name: Zoe
• 12-to-15 year-old girl
• A pound puppy, raised in captivity in a time of battle, without support systems of a normal childhood.
• She has no family and until now, has never left the compound in which she was born.
• She has an authentic intensity – Her expressions & body language speak volumes, without words.
• Once released in the outside world, everything is new, every experience and every image a first.
• This does not mean everything is wonderful or wonderous. Some thing she sees (things we might regard as conventional) may scare her or anger her and things we may find interesting may bore her.
• She has not been instructed in many social conventions – she can eat like an animal. She studies and often mimics people’s behavior.
• She has a high IQ, but is also a temperamental, impuslive and feral creature that can raise genuine mayhem.
• She is a girl that has never been kissed. Looking for a real girl – not made up or done up. Also with genuine edge, not made up or put on.
• Martial arts or gymnastics experience preferred but not necessary – but actress must be extremely physical and able to improvise scenes without necessarily resorting to speech. Do not play it “cute.”

X-Force Movie In The Works; Singer Pitched X-23 Female Wolverine

Following Hugh Jackman, who will be the new Wolverine?

Well, my pick of Tom Hardy may have taken a hit as it’s learned Bryan Singer pitched the female version of Wolverine, X-23, to Fox.

Fandango caught up with Bryan Singer who also let it be known he pitched a version of X-Force, that Simon Kinberg is working on an X-Force script, and that following X-Men: Apocalypse, he won’t have much to do with the X-Men universe as he will be working on 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea.

Singer did previousy state that if he is going to continue on with the X-Men universe, he wants the next movie to be set in space.

Here is what Singer had to say about X-Force and X-23:

“I have discussed that with the studio,” Singer reveals. “I actually initially pitched the X-Force and the female.”

“Simon [Kinberg] is in the earliest script stage, so that’s kind of where that stands, and we’ll see how it evolves,” he says.

Regarding an eventual X-Men movie that, similar to Marvel, features all the X-Men universe characters (X-Men, Deadpool, X-Force, etc), Singer said:

“But it has to be done right,” he cautions. “Anytime you throw all these characters together to hit a start date, it can make a lot of money, but it can also be a clusterf**k. To me, it has to be done with a lot of care. These things can get overwhelming, and if a character doesn’t belong in a movie, don’t use him. If the tone can still maintain itself, I’m all for it. What I’m not for is throwing a bunch of characters together and hoping it works.”

In the comics, X-23 was cloned from Wolverine DNA and brought up in the Weapon X program to kill Wolverine; however, she ended up joining the X-Men where Wolverine became a father-figure to her.

The Wolverine Will Be Rated-R; Now Filming Hugh Jackman’s Last X-Men Movie

It’s learned Hugh Jackman’s final Wolverine movie has begun filming and will be rated-R.

Collider caught up with Simon Kinberg at a press event for X-Men: Apocalypse where Kinberg offered the following:

“It’s a very radical, bold, different Wolverine than you’ve ever seen in any of these movies.”

“I’m not sure what I’m allowed to say about that. I will agree with you that Patrick Stewart was rumored to be a part of that film. It takes place in the future, and as you and others have reported, it is an R-rated movie. It’s violent, it’s kind of like a western in its tone. It’s just a very cool, different film.”

The untitled Wolverine movie has a March 3, 2017 release directed by James Mangold also starring Richard E. Grant, Stephen Merchant and Eriq Lasalle.

Hugh Jackman is also heavily speculated for an appearance in X-Men: Apocalypse, which hits May 27th.

Fox Said To Pull Out Of Comic-Con; No Assassin’s Creed Footage

Fox Studios is said to have pulled out of this Summer’s Comic-Con.

While the Wrap is stating the reason is in part because of people leaking the footage, more than likely it’s probably just that Fox has nothing to offer.

Wolverine 3 has yet to film, Gambit has been delayed, Independence Day: Resurgence will already have been released, and aside from Assassin’s Creed, there really isn’t much on Fox’s slate to promote.

The report does mention Fox will promote their movies through smaller events like their upcoming Dreamworks Animation Trolls movie that is due out in September.

Regarding their supposed reasoning of the leaked footage, the report says a source filled The Wrap in that Fox “cannot prevent the piracy of custom trailers and exclusive footage routinely screened for fans in attendance.”

That sounds a bit of a stretch as I’m guessing the studios and pr people love to have their movies trending worldwide on the various social networks and buzz created by the footage. I honestly don’t see why the studios attempt to keep the footage exclusive to attendees at the convention; it’s not like people are not going to go if the footage is released on online as well.

Fox’s loss.

The report does mention Fox and Comic-Con officials haven’t commented on the matter.

Bryan Singer Teases New Wolverine For X-Men: Apocalypse

Yesterday saw Hugh Jackman tease Wolverine in X-Men: Apocalypse on his social networks, and then we all saw Wolverine in the final X-Men: Apocalypse trailer.

Empire caught up with director Bryan Singer who offered an enigmatic response about the scene. While Singer at least offers more of Wolverine will be seen in the film, Singer also says it’s the “birth of a new direction.”

“Make of that what you want,” he pokerfaces. “I will say, it’s not simple. There’s something more pivotal that occurs with that. It hints to a sequence that again fits within the canon of all six movies, and the birth of a new direction. It’s not insignificant, nor is it simply just a throw-in.” So, will we find out to whom the claws belong? “It’s not the only shot you’re gonna see, let’s put it that way.”

We know Hugh Jackman will be featured in his last Wolverine movie, which hits next March. Is there a chance X-Men: Apocalypse will give us a glimpse of a new – assumed younger – Wolverine?

The Wolverine 3 Takes Place In The Future

Following the news of the villain, now the setting for the third Wolverine movie has become known.

“The Wolverine movie takes place in the future,” Simon Kinberg told Cinema Blend.

Kinberg didn’t offer further details, but the mention Wolverine 3 will be set in the future further hints at the use of the “Old Man Logan” comic book storyline, which is set in more than fifty years in an alternate post-apocalyptic future.

Regarding the casting of Boyd Holbrook as potentially a new character/villain for the movie, it’s possible since Marvel Studios owns the rights to certain characters used in the comic, that Kinberg and Fox may be replacing them with original characters (Red Skull, Hawkeye, etc.)

The untitled third Wolverine movie has a March 3, 2017 release directed by James Mangold starring Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart. It’s been said the movie may be rated-R.

Boyd Holbrook’s character is described as: “a relentless, calculating and intense head of security for a global enterprise who is set against Jackman’s clawed Wolverine/Logan hero.”

It’s been said the movie is supposed to be based on the “Old Man Logan” Marvel Comics storyline; however, as some of those characters are owned by Marvel Studios (Red Skull, Abomination, Hulk, Hawkeye, etc.), it’s possible Holbrook’s character could be an original character created for the movie.

Canada Releases Wolverine’s Military Records

It is April Fool’s Day, but Canada has gone out and done a pretty cool thing by releasing the “military records” of James Howlett aka Wolverine.

The official Library and Archives of Canada released the following “info” about Wolverine:

Library and Archives Canada’s major acquisition of the declassified journals and military records of Canadian supersoldier James “Logan” Howlett

April 1, 2016 – Gatineau, Quebec – Library and Archives Canada (LAC)

Library and Archives Canada (LAC) acquires the declassified journals and military records of Canadian supersoldier James “Logan” Howlett.

Logan was born in 1882 in Cold Lake, Alberta, Canada, to wealthy landowner Elizabeth Howlett and her grounds-keeper Thomas Logan.

Logan’s journals provide valuable insight into his early life in Canada, including work as a miner in a British Columbia stone quarry, a fur trader for the Hudson’s Bay Company, and a homesteader in the Canadian Rockies. His military career spanned multiple conflicts, making his personnel records an unprecedented study in Canadian military history. Logan was gravely wounded in action many times, and gained a reputation as a gritty survivor.

Quick Facts:

• WWI: Captain in the Canadian Armed Forces (Devil’s Brigade). Fought at Ypres in 1915. Wounded by a sword through the chest.
• WWII: Returned to the Devil’s Brigade in the Second World War, as an allied spy and paratrooper for the 1st Canadian Parachute Battalion during the Normandy landings on D-Day.
• Cold War: based in Ottawa and Calgary, worked for both CSIS and the CIA.
• Logan later changed his operative name to ‘Wolverine’, and worked with various NGOs.
