With Hugh Jackman hanging up his adamantium claws, of course the role has to be eventually recast as Wolverine is arguably the most popular of the X-Men.
While speaking with Variety, the head of FOX Studios, Stacey Snider, does offer up that is indeed a possibility.
“Anything’s possible,” Snyder says.
Stacey Snider is also asked if the recent James Mangold Logan movie, which was rated-R, should be an Oscar contender.
“Absolutely,” Snyder said. “The way it combines classic storytelling with superhero lore is brilliant.”
Regarding the future of Wolverine in the X-Men movies, as of now it is not known that Wolverine will be appearing in any of the upcoming movies, which includes X-Men: Dark Phoenix, Deadpool 2 and X-Men: New Mutants.
An X-Force movie is in the works starring both Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool and Josh Brolin as Cable, maybe that would be a bad ass way to introduce a new actor as Wolverine?
Regarding the new actor to play Wolverine, I always thought Tom Hardy would have made a good choice to play the beserker-raging mutie, but Sony Pictures cast Tom Hardy as their Venom. Another name that has surfaced as recommended by fans includes Scott Eastwood, and Hugh Jackman even recommended at one time that his Eddie the Eagle co-star Taron Egerton play Wolverine, who currently stars for FOX in the Kingsman movies.
Another possibility is that, similar to Hugh Jackman, FOX could always go with an unknown actor, as.back when Hugh Jackman first played Wolverine in 2000, he wasn’t a famous face like he is today.
