Thor: Ragnarok Will Feature Less Earth Says Feige

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23638:]]

Good news, Cosmic fans!

Marvel Studios president and producer Kevin Feige lets it be known that Thor: Ragnarok will feature less of Earth.

Speaking with Empire Magazine, Feige says: “The film will take place in the cosmos primarily, which is to say, frankly, very little Earth.”

Honestly, I’m glad Thor 3 will be more cosmic and keep Thor in space as I wasn’t too happy with how they portrayed Thor recently on Earth in Avengers 2 (comic relief).

Feige also had more to say about Ragnarok: “I don’t think people will read into that title alone what the movie’s gong to be. It’s going to be perhaps as tonally different from the two prior Thor movies as Winter Soldier was from the first Captain America. We want to take it to new places, we’ve got new characters that will show how big we’re swinging on this. And we have a Hulk.”

Thor: Ragnarok has a November 3, 2017 release.

Sounds Like Merged Smart Hulk Is Coming In Thor: Ragnarok Or Avengers: Infinity War

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23458:]]

We may see a merged smart form of the Hulk in Thor: Ragnarok or even The Avengers: Infinity War movies.

Ruffalo previously teased that Banner and the Hulk would have a confrontation, and now Ruffalo talks about the two merging.

As fans of the comic books know, at times Banner and the Hulk have merged or one has over taken the other (due to various factors).

Speaking with AICN, Ruffalo offered the following:

He’s on the run. I think that we carry that through. It’s not just a matter of taking himself to some remote place and hiding. Now he’s removing himself from humanity altogether. I’m not sure where we’re going to head with that, but I’m sure that’s probably still very much alive within him. It’s very subtle, but the Banner/Hulk consciousness is beginning to meld a little bit. Who decided to leave? Was it Banner or Hulk? It’s not really in the [cinematic] mythology of Hulk up until that moment to be that conscious and pro-active. It’s interesting, right?”

“Yeah, I think it [will be fun]. I think it’s really exciting where we could go with it. Now I feel like we’re kind of in No Man’s Land. I mean, the comic books have kind of broached the subject, but we’re moving away from the traditional Hulk/Banner relationship. We’re starting to mess with it a little bit. Now we’re going to see how far we can push the limits of it before people get sick of it!”

The merged version (or a one-sided version) of the Hulk on the big screen would be interesting as it could mean the introduction of the Green Scar, the Hulk from Planet Hulk and World War Hulk.

The merged version of the Hulk also brings up memories of the Peter David 1990s version (one of my favorites), which I consider more a superhero version of the Hulk, aka Prof. Hulk (and who also appeared in Infinity Gauntlet). I actually had Peter David sign my issue of Incredible Hulk #377 at the recent NYCC that featured the first Banner/Grey/ Green merged Hulk and asked him if he thought we would ever see that version in a movie. He said he doubted it and added this one of his favorite versions of the Hulk, too.

“Thor: Ragnarok” hits November 3, 2017.

No Hulk Movie Because Marvel & Universal Don’t Get Along Says Mark Ruffalo

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23457:]]

Mark Ruffalo previously offered the reason there is no new solo Hulk movie is because Universal Studios owns the distribution rights.

Now Ruffalo exands upon the subject, talking with Yahoo, offering that Universal and Marvel don’t even get along.

“I think they’ve been working on it. Marvel and Universal famously don’t get along very well, and so that’s working against us, definitely. But I know for a fact that everyone is holding out hope that one day we can do it. But the nature of the relationship right now, it’s a little prohibitive. And I hope that that changes, that changes with regimes, it changes over the course of time. But right now it doesn’t look particularly promising.”

It’s noted that things are working out between Sony and Marvel (with Spider-Man), which Ruffalo offers that’s the hope for Universal and Marvel, but again says things are not good between the two.

Yeah, I think ultimately that’s what they’re after, it working out for both sides. But like I said, Marvel and Universal are just not having a good time together right now.

The gist of the problem seems to be a feud between Universal’s parent company, Comcast, and Marvel Studios’ own parent company, Disney, over a failed merger from back in 2004, as Ruffalo compares the battle to Marvel vs. DC.

I know. It’s like the Marvel Universe and DC going after each other.

While no solo Hulk film looks to be happening any time soon, the Green Goliath is slated to next appear in Thor: Ragnarok and The Avengers: Infinity War.

Regarding a Hulk solo film, I wonder if the rights are in regards to the title of the film or if the majority of the screen time features the Hulk? Say for instance, Marvel simply didn’t use “Hulk” in the title (i.e. “Warbound”), would that be able to get by Universal’s distribution rights? Or what about if they gave a different character a minute of more screen time (i.e. Caiera) than the Hulk?

Update: Ruffalo hints at a smart Hulk for Thor: Ragnaork.

Michael Keaton Says Batman Could Beat Up The Hulk & Everybody Else

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:22884:]]

Former Batman actor Michael Keaton is currently starring in Spotlight along with the Hulk, Mark Ruffalo.

ABC (via Geek Tyrant) caught up with Keaton to get his take on who would win between the two.

Keaton let it be known that not only could Batman beat the Hulk and everybody else, but that he could, too.

“Everyone needs to stop asking the question of who could beat up who. Batman kicks everybody’s a**. And if they won’t, I will, Bruce Wayne will.”

This isn’t the first time that Keaton has come out and proclaimed himself as Batman. Last December saw Keaton answer a question regarding if he is jealous that Ben Affleck is playing Batman by answering, “No. Do you know why? Because I’m Batman. I’m very secure in that.”

Michael Keaton also appeared on Saturday Night Live this year which saw him reprise his Batman voice from the 1989 movie by stating, “I’m Batman.” The SNL Cast also tried to convince Keaton to don the cape and cowl once again.

Batman and the Hulk have fought in the comics, with the Dark Knight getting the upper hand over the Green Goliath.

Hulk Confirmed For Avengers: Infinity Wars; Loki For Thor 3

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:22740:]]

It’s recently been learned that Mark Ruffalo and the Hulk will be a part of Thor: Ragnarok, and now Ruffalo has confirmed the Hulk for the Avengers: Infinity War movies as well as Loki for Thor 3.

Regarding Loki, while it seems the inclusion of the Asgardian Trickster is a no-brainer, Tom Hiddleston recently questioned if he would be returning as he stated he hasn’t heard anything from Marvel in years; hasn’t heard about Thor 3, and also wondered if the fans wanted him back.

Now it appears we can all breathe a sigh of relief as Mark Ruffalo fills in USA Today that he has spoken with Thor 3 director Taika Waititi, and while Ruffalo doesn’t know story specifics, he does state Hulk, Thor and Loki will be in the movie.

I don’t know what the story is yet, but it’ll be (Loki) and Thor, and then I’ll be in there here and there. But I don’t know any of the particulars quite yet. I’ve talked to Taika a little bit and I like where it’s headed. … Chris (Hemsworth) and I have a really good time together, we goof off and play around when Tom Hiddleston is around. So it’ll be a lot of funny back-and-forth, especially with Taika, he does that really well. It’ll have that kind of antagonistic Odd Couple-thing going on.

As Hiddleston previously stated, it’s possible Marvel simply hasn’t informed him yet of the Thor 3 plans. Ray Stevenson and Zachary Levi, two members of the Warriors Three, haven’t heard from Marvel as well, but are expecting the call: “I’ve heard that it’s on the cards,” Stevenson told IGN. “As far as Volstagg is concerned, should he be called with his other Warriors Three to protect young Thor again, within a heart’s beat he will be there. So, I am waiting to hear. I’m very excited about the whole thing actually.” Likewise, Levi told CBR: “No, not at all. As far as I know, they are still writing the script. Once that’s all buttoned down, I’m sure they will be making the phone call to whatever actors are involved.”

The USA Today article also makes mention of the Hulk appearing in Avengers: Infinity War:

…he will resurface in the two-part Avengers: Infinity War sequels…

And Ruffalo comments on the possibility of a standalone Hulk movie:

“Actually, it feels even further away. It’s not Marvel’s property, it’s Universal’s property. I don’t know. It seems really problematic.”

“Thor: Ragnarok” has a November 3, 2017 release.

Mark Ruffalo Says We’ll See Thor Vs. Hulk In Ragnarok

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:22681:]]

Thor: Ragnarok is confirmed to feature Mark Ruffalo as Banner and the Hulk with it previously said the Odinson will team up with the Green Goliath. Now we learn not only will the two Assemblers team up, but they will battle as well.

The NY Daily News caught up with Ruffalo who offered: “I don’t really know that much about it, but I think it’s going to be a buddy picture with Thor and Bruce Banner. I think they’ll probably fight. There’s no doubt, everyone wants us to fight at one point.”

Ruffalo continued with mention of what he does know about the film.

“I know that it’s about (the Norse legends of) ‘Ragnarok,’ or the end times in the Marvel universe as it pertains to Thor — which seems to be quite the theme these days in movies,” Ruffalo said.

As mentioned above, Ruffalo says the film with be a buddy picture with Thor and Bruce Banner, which is interesting as Ruffalo recently hinted at a separation between the Hulk and his human counterpart.

“Thor: Ragnarok” has a November 3, 2017 release directed by Taika Waititi starring Chris Hemsworth.

Mark Ruffalo Teases Hulk and Banner Separation For Thor: Ragnarok

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:22616:]]

With the Hulk going cosmic in Thor: Ragnarok it’s a wonder how they will fit in Bruce Banner, the Green Goliath’s fragile and puny alter-ego.

As the Hulk will be smashing side-by-side the Odinson on Asgard, will there be any room for Banner in the cosmos?

It turns out Kevin Feige may have an out (which potentially could work for a Planet Hulk movie) as Mark Ruffalo recently spoke to the Huffinton Post teasing Banner and Hulk may be featured on screen together.

“I play Dr. Bruce Banner, and occasionally I turn into a big green, mean monster,” Ruffalo offered. “I am excited to keep coming back to this role. I see a lot of space for it to grow. I feel like there’s a lot of cool stuff to explore still, especially the relationship between Banner and Hulk. Hopefully, we’ll see the two of them in a scene together. That would be cool!”

Fans of the movies and comics know that the Hulk and Banner are essentially the same person, but actually, the Hulk represents sort of a different personality. At times, Banner’s various personalities have triggered different Hulk versions such as the dumb Green Hulk, which is akin more to Banner’s infant years; then there is the Joe Fixit Grey Hulk – actually the first iteration of the Hulk – who is not as strong as his green brother, but comes off as more cunning and more adolescent-like (there have been other versions as well including Devil Hulk, and the popular Future Imperfect version, Maestro).

The Banner, Green and Grey personalities actually combined in one of my favorite story arcs, with the culmination being the smart Professor Banner Hulk (I asked Peter David at the NYCC if we would ever see the Banner Hulk in a movie to which he replied, “Probably not,” and noted it’s one of his favorite versions of the Hulk, too). So as Banner seemingly suffers from a gamma-irradiated multiple personality disorder, it’s possible Banner and Hulk might actually be separated in the movies. This has actually proved disastrous in the comics as the two can’t survive without the other, and in addition, the inclusion of Banner was a calming factor for the Hulk.

So without Banner, we might see a totally nutso Hulk in Thor 3, as some cosmic factor could explain how the two get separated (Doctor Doom also separated the two recently in the comics). Still, another possibility (and similar to the comics) is that Banner could have a conversation with the Hulk in his head, which they were ought to do in the comics. At times, the various personalities would be attempting to take control, with the battle taking place in Banner’s mind.

“Thor: Ragnarok” has a November 3, 2017 release directed by Taika Waititi starring Chris Hemsworth.

Mark Ruffalo & Hulk Confirmed For Thor: Ragnarok

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:22489:]]

Following the rumor from a couple of days ago, it’s now confirmed Mark Ruffalo and the Hulk will be a part of Thor: Ragnarok.

Deadline confirms the news, as the site is essentially an “unofficial” voice for various Hollywood sources.

A second as-of-yet unconfirmed rumor also recently surfaced surrounding the Hulk and new director Taika Waititi stating Waititi was brought on board Thor 3 to lighten up the script and add in some humor as Marvel felt the Chris Yost-written script was too serious and dark. The same rumor also saw hints of Planet Hulk.

Thor: Ragnarok has a November 3, 2017 release.

Hulk Rumored For Thor 3

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:22423:]]

Following The Avengers: Age Of Ultron, the exact whereabouts of the Hulk is currently unknown.

It was thought the Green Goliath would be appearing in Captain America: Civil War; however, that doesn’t seem to be the case.

So where will we see Banner next?

A new rumor has hit the net from JoBlo stating the Hulk will be in Thor: Ragnarok.

According to the report, Thor will team with the Hulk as Asgard faces a Norse Apocalypse.

The report further mentions that Tom Hiddleston will be back as Loki, as there seemed question as of late if Hiddleston was set to return; Jaimie Alexander is also said to be back as Sif.

It’s also said a “distant planet” is involved in Thor 3 that is “not Asgard and not Earth” which is speculated to possibly be the planet Sakaar where the Planet Hulk Marvel Comics storyline took place.

Regarding Mark Ruffalo, the actor is said to be absolutely part of the supporting cast of Thor 3 and will be featured prominently as Banner.

Thor: Ragnarok has a November 3, 2017 release.

Why Grey Hulk Was Cut From Avengers: Age Of Ultron

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:22005:]]

Eagle-eyed fans caught a glimpse of the Grey Hulk in promos for The Avengers: Age Of Ultron, but when the movie came out it turned out the Grey Goliath had been cut.

Now it’s learned exactly why as VFX supervisor Christopher Townsend lets it be know the reasoning was to not confuse fans as there are different versions of Huk in the comics (and even different versions of the Grey Hulk with Joe Fixit and the Ultimate Hulk); via Screen Rant:

Yeah. What Joss wanted to do was he said, “I wanted to have a Hulk that’s this berserker Hulk.” Berserker Hulk was this Hulk that Hulks out, was what we had come up with on set. And then we sort of started talking about, “Well what are those extremes?” And ILM started playing with a deformed body with a deformed face with one eye larger than another. You know, like crooked teeth, and drooling, and red eyes, and all this kind of stuff.

Then we started playing with color and we started to de-saturate him and give him sort of red around his eyes and made him look strung-out heroin addict Hulk was the idea. Sort of like where he has totally lost it and he’s gone totally crazy. And then we gradually tended towards a grayer and grayer version till effectively we got gray Hulk.

We tried a few shots in the film with that sort of much grayer version. And then we’re thinking, “Will people confuse this with the gray Hulk from the comics? And is that a good thing or a bad thing?” Eventually, I think we backed off a little bit of that and made him greener so that…we didn’t want to confuse people in creating a new character, per se, in that way. So we ultimately backed off. But we had gone pretty extreme in the looks for him.

No Chance For Hulk or Captain Marvel In Guardians of the Galaxy 2 Says James Gunn

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:21993:]]

Over a year ago saw it rumored that at the end of The Avengers 2, the Hulk would be stuck in a pre-programmed Quinjet jettisoning the Green Goliath off to space where the Hulk would meet up with the Guardians in Guardians of the Galaxy 2.

Gunn previously shot down the Hulk Guardians of the Galaxy 2 rumor, and now seeing how it’s learned the Hulk’s story will not be told in Captain America: Civil War, speculation has again started up that the Hulk would be appearing in Gunn’s sequel.

However, Gunn once again shoots down any notion of the Hulk appearing.

“I will comment on it now (as I’ve done before) – there is zero chance you will see Hulk in GotGVol2,” Gunn offered on Twitter.

Gunn continued with mention that Captain Marvel won’t be featured in Guardians of the Galaxy 2 as well.

“For the time being, it’s important to me that Quill is the sole human (earthling) character,” Gunn replied to questioning about Captain Marvel making her MCU debut in Guardians of the Galaxy 2.

Gunn also offered he doesn’t want a lot of new characters in GoTG2 because he would like to focus on the characters already from the first movie.

“Not too many, that’s for sure!” Gunn responded in regards to how many new characters he would like to take on in Guardians 2. “I want all of our characters to get MORE personal time than they did in the 1st film.”

Regarding Gunn’s statement about Star-Lord being the sole human, which he has stated before, the line of reasoning stirs contention amongst the Cosmic fans as many Marvel Cosmic fans want to see Richard Rider Nova a part of the Guardians movies (Gunn cut Nova from an earlier script), and Star-Lord could easily be argued as not being a relatable human as, for one, he’s half alien, and secondly, in Gunn’s movie, Star-Lord was abducted at a young age and grew up in space. Hopefully a different director will want to tackle Richard Rider Nova’s story at some point.

“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” has a May 5, 2017 release.

Comic Book News Marvel

Yes. We Have An Asian Hulk.

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:21963:]]

No surprise here if you have been following all the Marvel Comics news as of late as the company under billionaire Ike Perlmutter has been replacing all the characters with PC minority versions.

As we all thought, the new “Totally Awesome” Hulk is Amadeus Cho, of Korean descent in the comics.

We can scratch another white character off of Marvel’s list.

Marvel revealed the news in an interview with EW.com.

Hulk happens to be one of my favorite characters, but I may actually give this a try, and it’s more due to the writer on the project, Greg Pak (himself Korean), as the Hulk title hasn’t been the same since he left some years ago. Pak’s run on Hulk is right up there with Peter David’s in my book.

Marvel EIC Axel Alonso spouts his usual spiel in the interview how they still love Banner – I was told the same thing by him about Nova and Guardians of the Galaxy, and we know how those turned out. Alonso offers there will only be one Hulk in the MU, and that it is Cho who happens to like being Hulk, which is different than Banner.

Pak offers some story details as well:

The story is working on three levels: we’ve got the big crazy action level — the big monster hunt — that’s what our big story arc is. Which is also up Frank Cho’s alley, because if you know Frank Cho, you know he draws monsters like nobody’s business, and he’s going nuts with this. So, we’ve got the monster hunt, we’ve got the mystery of what happened to Banner and what’s going on with Banner, and then there’s an emotional story, of course. My favorite kinds of stories are the ones that have these big crazy genre hijinks and then a real honest, meaty, emotional story where we’re watching a character grapple with some real things. And we’re going to see if Amadeus’ dream of being the greatest Hulk ever and his total confidence of that is really warranted. And we’ve got some great supporting characters that are going to be challenging him in some interesting ways.

The new series kicks off in December with art by Frank Cho.

Mark Ruffalo Says No Hulk For Captain America: Civil War

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:21950:]]

It looks as if those earlier reports of Mark Ruffalo filming in Germany for Captain America: Civil War were a tad bit off as Ruffalo has let it be known he is not in the movie.

At the recent Venice Film Festival, the Italian website BadTaste spoke with Ruffalo about the Hulk, where Ruffalo offered the following (translated):

Because it’s still missing is not known where. I thought that I would be in the film, but in the end evidently believe that reveal what happened Hulk is something too big, and Marvel wants to use this information later. My character had been inserted in the script, but then it was taken away.Who knows, maybe Hulk will never return. However, they want to keep the revelation of what happened a secret, because it is something really big.

Ruffalo says the Hulk is still considered missing following Avengers: Age Of Ultron. He thought he would be in the film, but Marvel believes what happened to the Hulk is something too big to reveal in Captain America: Civil War, and Marvel wants to use the information later. Ruffalo also reveals he was a part of an early script, but then he was cut. Ruffalo continues with mention the revelation of what happened with the Hulk is a secret, stating it’s something really big.

“Captain America: Civil War” has  a May 6, 2016 release date directed by Anthony and Joe Russo starring Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Elizabeth Olsen, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Frank Grillo, Paul Bettany, Don Cheadle, Emily VanCamp, William Hurt, Martin Freeman and Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther.

Synopsis:

Captain America: Civil War picks up where Avengers: Age of Ultron left off, as Steve Rogers leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain.

Mark Ruffalo Spotted In Germany For Captain America: Civil War

While the Incredible Hulk actor has yet to be officially announced by Marvel Studios, news comes from Germany that Mark Ruffalo is filming scenes there for Captain America: Civil War with Chris Evans (Cap), Anthony Mackie (Falcon) and Daniel Bruhl (Baron Zemo).

Germany’s BILD states the actors have also been spotted at various night clubs and included images.

A guest at one of the clubs offered (translated), “Ruffalo and Mackie had fun, danced the whole time. They were one of the last at the club to seven o’clok and danced to electro music.”

While the Hulk wasn’t a part of the original Marvel Comics Civil War storyline, it’s being speculated that Captain America: Civil War may include the Red Hulk to match the Green Goliath as William Hurt returns to play Generaly Ross.

There was also news about the Hulk following the incidents in Avengers: Age Of Ultron as an Ant-Man viral video made mention of Tony Stark stating public concerns about Dr. Bruce Banner are baseless and irresponsible.

Now We Have An Asian Hulk

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:21158:]]

Is Marvel’s Secret Wars really a secret war against white male comic book characters?

The latest to support the theory is that the Hulk looks to be the next in line to get replaced.

Marvel released a teaser image of the new Hulk, which is speculated to be Amadeus Cho, who is of Korean descent.

Greg Pak is writing the The Totally Awesome Hulk with art by Frank Cho.

Marvel Comics has been replacing their white comic book characters as of late with minority characters.

Their new Avengers book features five new characters that have replaced original white characters as well.

Stan Lee recently offered this thoughts on white characters getting replaced in that new characters should just be created.

A while back also saw Michelle Rodriguez rant about minority characters replacing white characters in Hollywood.

William Hurt Would Love To Play Red Hulk In Captain America: Civil War (Video)

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:21152:]]

While the Hulk wasn’t a part of the original Civil War Marvel Comics storyline, perhaps each side in the superhero squabble will have their own in the movie.

Mark Ruffalo is yet to be confirmed, but recently Robert Downey Jr. has been making hints about the inclusion of the Hulk actor in Captain America: Civil War, and with William Hurt announced returning as Thaddeus Ross, many fans online have been speculating about an appearance of the Red Hulk.

The WSJ caught up with Hurt and asked him about the possibility of the Red Hulk in Captain America: Civil War, which Hurt says he would definitely be open to playing.

Here’s the blurb:

“It’s very very different from the other [Incredible] Hulk. It’s really different. It’s done differently, and the style is completely modernized. So, I’m not playing the graphic novel version of Thaddeus Ross. I’m playing… a better suit.”

Regarding Red Hulk:

“I don’t know, I wouldn’t mind feeling like I had that much power. I created Thaddeus originally as an ego the same size as the monsters, with the same degree of messed-upness. Yeah, I’d love to have a shot at it.”

Robert Downey Jr. Says Mark Ruffalo Is In Captain America: Civil War

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:21021:]]

Mark Ruffalo recently teased that Robert Downey Jr. said he heard the Hulk actor was coming out to the set of Captain America: Civil War, and now Ruffalo states his science brother buddy has said he is in the movie.

Mark Ruffalo recently spoke with HitFix where Ruffalo offers Robert Downey Jr. told him he is in Captain America: Civil War.

“If Robert Downey Jr. says I’m in Captain America, I’m in Captain America, dammit,” Ruffalo said. “And I will wait for the day that my call sheet [or my script] shows up on my doorstep.”

As Mark Ruffalo mentions, he hasn’t been officially told by Marvel (at least that we know) whether or not he is in the movie, but Mark Ruffalo seems pretty confident the Hulk will appear.

“At this point, I’m told that I’m in it by Robert, which I’ll take as biblical, but I just haven’t heard or seen from production yet.”

While we do wait for the official announcement, a hint that the Hulk may be appearing comes as a result of the inclusion of William Hurt, who will be reprising as General Thunderbolt Russ from the 2008 Incredible Hulk movie.

“Captain America: Civil War” has  a May 6, 2016 release date directed by Anthony and Joe Russo starring Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Elizabeth Olsen, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Frank Grillo, Paul Bettany, Don Cheadle, Emily VanCamp, William Hurt, Martin Freeman and Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther.

Watch: Mark Ruffalo Talks Hulk Vs. Superman With Jon Stewart

Who wins between the Hulk vs. Superman?

That’s a battle long been argued over by comic fans, and a battle that has taken place a few times in the comics with Superman winning the majority.

Now Mark Ruffalo weighs in as the actor recently appeared on Jon Stewart.

In the above video around the 2:30 mark, Stewart asks Ruffalo about Hulk vs. Superman and makes a point that the Man of Steel can fly.

Ruffalo doesn’t seem to impressed as he responds, “Okay,” and mentions if the high-jump was the determining factor then Superman would win.

While unfortunately the two don’t really get into it as Ruffalo is there to promote his latest indie movie, you can check out the Hulk vs. Superman outcome from the comics:

Mark Ruffalo & Robert Downey Jr. Tease Hulk For Captain America: Civil War

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20963:]]

The big question following The Avengers: Age Of Ultron is where did Banner and the Hulk go off to?

But perhaps the bigger question is will the Hulk appear in Captain America: Civil War?

As of right now, the Hulk is the only Avenger that has yet to make a confirmed appearance in another Marvel movie.

No Hulk solo movie is being planned as there is a rights issue over the character having standalone movies with Universal Studios.

Now we hear from Mark Ruffalo who offers hope that the Hulk might be featured in Captain America: Civil War.

While Ruffalo spoke to the Daily Beast stating he still doesn’t know if the Hulk will make an appearance:

“I don’t know! I heard a rumor about that the other day. I haven’t seen a script, nobody’s told me, and I don’t have dates. But I can only hope so!”

Ruffalo does go on to say that Robert Downey Jr. teased the following:

“I was talking to Robert Downey the other day, and he said, ‘Ruffalo! I heard you’re coming out here,’ and I said, ‘OK! I’ll be there,’” said Ruffalo, with a chuckle.

If indeed Ruffalo hasn’t read a script, it doesn’t necessarlily mean the Hulk won’t show up in Captain America: Civil War as the appearance could be small (such as at the end of the film), and it’s possible that Ruffalo might not be appearing as Banner, but the Hulk would be CGI.

Another rumor/fan-speculation going around the net is that the Hulk will appear – as the Red Hulk. Fans of the Marvel comics know that General Thunderbolt Ross is the Red Hulk; William Hurt returns to reprise Ross for Captain America: Civil War.

Another intersting tidbit is the following tweet Ruffalo posted last month:

“Captain America: Civil War” has  a May 6, 2016 release date directed by Anthony and Joe Russo starring Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Elizabeth Olsen, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Frank Grillo, Paul Bettany, Don Cheadle, Emily VanCamp, William Hurt, Martin Freeman and Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther.

Mark Ruffalo Responds To Jason Statham’s Marvel Remarks

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20931:]]

Mark Ruffalo smash Jason Statham?

Well, the madder the Hulk gets the stronger the Hulk gets, so maybe Statham better watch out.

Following the rumor that Jason Statham was up to play Bullseye in Marvel’s Daredevil Netflix series, the actor stated he felt Marvel movies aren’t authentic and that his grandma could do the stunts.

Now Mark Ruffalo has words for Statham as Vulture caught up with the Incredbile Hulk actor.

“I mean, do you really need to ask that question? It’s Jason Statham,” Ruffalo joked. “He’s like a featherweight. He’s got nothing on me! Clearly.”

Ruffalo better be careful though, as Banner definitely doesn’t get any stronger the madder he gets; plus Statham has trained in real life martial arts.

Maybe we’ll see it on the big screen some day?

Ultimate Reed Richards Rumored To Be New Hulk

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20885:]]

Yesterday saw Marvel reveal plans for their Fall reboot with EIC Axel Alonso teasing a new Hulk.

Now the identity of the new Hulk may have become known as Bleeding Cool is reporting the Ultimate Universe Reed Richards will be Marvel’s new Hulk.

Regarding the new Hulk, Alonso yesterday stated to various news outlets:

“The all-new Hulk … this character is certain to cause debate. The same people who went crazy with female Thor will have a field day with this one. Will there be enough room for him and Peter Parker? Read and find out. Wolverine will return to the Marvel Universe (again, this will be something big). Who is Wolverine? You’ll have to read and find out.”

“I’ll go ahead and tell you the Marvel Universe is about to see the arrival of an All-New Hulk—not a Hulk that you’ve seen before. And this development is deeply rooted in story. I am personally excited about it and its ramifications and it’s a fascinating story that I think Bruce Banner fans will definitely want to read. You’ll also see the arrival of a new Spider-Man in the Marvel Universe and you’ll also see—spoiler alert—a Wolverine emerge on the scene. I’m not going to say who, but a Wolverine that is certain to provoke reactions.”

“We’ve put the onus on the creators to come up with big changes in the lives of our characters, whether it’s Spider-Man or Ms. Marvel or Daredevil or the Hulk. You’re going to be looking at, in certain cases, new characters inhabiting those roles, and new characters dealing with profound changes in the relationships with others around them and where they live.”

“…Incredible Hulk like no fan has ever seen before. That’s certain to be a topic of conversation. All the same people who yelled about female Thor are going to do the same thing about this Hulk.”

Marvel Rebooting In Fall With New #1’s & Characters

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20864:]]

Following on the heels of DC’s own reboot attempt with the New 52 back in the Fall of 2011, now it’s official that Marvel is rebooting as well with the “All-New, All-Different Marvel” approach.

It’s reported Marvel will be rebooting with 55-60 new #1 issues this Fall, which will include a new Wolverine, new Spider-Man and a new Hulk, with titles written by Brian Michael Bendis, Jason Aaron, Mark Waid, Dan Slott, Charles Soule, G. Willow Wilson, Jeff Lemire, CM Punk and Nicole Perlman.

The new event follows Secret Wars and takes place eight months later.

Marvel EIC Axel Alonso and David Gabriel, SVP of Sales and Marketing, offered the following to various news outlets:

Update: Marvel has released a second teaser image.

Axel Alonso:

“This is the Marvel Universe. This fall, we will be inviting readers into a universe comprised of bold new landscapes populated with characters and teams both familiar and brand-new.”

“She [Kamala Khan] is Peter Parker for the 21st century. Peter Parker can be a 16-year-old Pakistani girl from Jersey City. If her story is universal, then people are going to come and read it. If it feels true, if it resonates, people are going to come.”

You’re going to be looking at, in certain cases, new characters inhabiting those roles, and new characters dealing with profound changes in the relationships with others around them and where they live.

“We’ve challenged everybody to come up with the right ‘Oh (expletive)’ reveal for their character to shake it up and make it interesting.”

“…Incredible Hulk like no fan has ever seen before. That’s certain to be a topic of conversation. All the same people who yelled about female Thor are going to do the same thing about this Hulk.”

“…they’re going to read the story and go, ‘Oh God, they’re on to something!’ “

“There’s no red sky, there’s no icecaps. But there will be new places on the map, there will be new characters that were just too cool to not bring back from ‘Secret Wars.’ There are new teams that are necessary to deal with new threats.”

“I think that the comics industry — certainly, we are — slowly working into a season model that’s not too unlike what we see in our favorite cable TV shows: a seasonal model that offers accessible entry points for new readers and is respectful of long-term fans. We did Marvel NOW! and All-New Marvel NOW!, which were both two very successful campaigns. And this is the latest campaign.”

David Gabriel:

“This is going to be an absolute game changer for Marvel. Similar to the most successful comics industry program of this century—Marvel NOW!, All-New All-Different Marvel is going to be presenting fans new #1’s for every title coming out during this event. This is a brand new beginning that honors our past 76 years, yet takes a bold step with daring, and accessible, entry points.”

“The real beauty of that is if you’re one of these fans who’ve been around for many years, it’s a great, exciting mystery. And if you’re these new fans who maybe only jumped in this year when you saw the Avengers movie, you’ll be able to pick up any of these comics and you will not need to know 50 years of backstory of anybody.”
