Incredible Hulk Star Lou Ferrigno Hospitalized After Vaccination

What can take down the Incredible Hulk? How about a shot in the arm, as Lou Ferrigno posted an image of himself on social media in the hospital.

The 67-year-old actor, known for playing and voicing Marvel’s The Incredible Hulk, was admitted to St. John’s Health Center in Santa Monica, California after receiving a vaccination for pneumonia.

“Went in for a pneumonia shot and landed up here with fluid in my bicep,”  Ferrigno said. “I’ll be ok but it’s important that you keep an eye on who’s giving the shot and make sure they not only swab the spot correctly but that you watch the needle come out of the package.”

Ferrigno seems to be doing okay as he further posted images of himself at an event with Dolph Lundgren.

“Happy I made it out of the hospital in time,” Ferrigno said.

Regarding what went wrong, it’s possible Lou Ferrigno could have had a bad reaction to the shot or that the skin might not have been appropriately disinfected before the shot, or the needle or vaccine could have been mishandled, said Dr. William Schaffner, an infectious disease specialist at the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. who did not treat Ferrigno (via CNN).

In related news, Lou Ferrigno’s son has been cast as Hourman in the DC Universe app Stargirl series.
