Vincent D’Onofrio Says Kicking Spider-Man’s Butt Would Be Awesome

Believe it not, we are just about a week away from the big debut of Marvel’s Daredevil series on Netflix.

Daredevil will be available with all thirteen episodes next Friday, April 10th.

Disney’s PR sites have already given the series rave reviews, and since the Marvel movie universe and TV universe is connected, maybe one day we’ll get to see Daredevil alongside the Avengers.

Or how about Spider-Man vs. Kingpin as Wilson Fix is featured in many of the Spidey Marvel comics?

“That would be super-cool, yeah,” Vincent D’Onofrio told IGN. “To be able to kick Spider-Man’s butt would be awesome.

“But we just don’t know about those things,” he continued. “Those are all the Marvel secrets that they never tell us until they need us, so… Yeah, I would do it. I would do it in second.”

Home Entertainment (WBHE) and Warner Archive Collection (WAC) take the spotlight for all three days of WonderCon in Anaheim, April 3-5, with World Premieres of the highly anticipated animated films Batman vs. Robin and Batman Unlimited: Animal Instincts, and a pair of WAC panels highlighted by the first-ever sing-along with the “Mayhem of the Music Meister” episode of Batman: The Brave and the Bold and a salute to super hero “sidekicks.”

Ryan Reynolds just announced that Deadpool will be Rated-R in a super cool video.

Now Deadpool creator and comic book writer and artist Rob Liefeld has taken to his Instagram page to offer the following.

DEADPOOL RANT….So you’re thinking, “of course Liefeld, you brought Deadpool to life, what else are we to expect but you to cheer, homer.” Let’s get something straight, after Wolverine:Origins I went on the apology tour, for those many umpteen thousands of you who came up to me at the bazillion conventions I do and asked me “Hey, Liefeld, what did you think of Deadpool in Wolverine:Origins?” you saw me smile through gritted teeth and give a very deliberate response “Well, it’s a good start..” Because I already knew that there were plans underway to restore Deadpool and that given the opportunity, the new team that Ryan was assembling would produce the film we all wanted. But I knew that I couldn’t apologize twice, I couldn’t smile through gritted teeth any longer, this one would have to be earned. Rhett Rheese and Paul Wernick came on board and wrote the most amazing, exciting, unique comic book script I’d ever read. Even my Marvel pals have confided and said, “Wow, that Deadpool script…That’s spectacular..It should get made” but it didn’t. And years passed and management at Fox passed and executives came and went, each unable to move it forward. During this time, the outstanding Tim Miller stepped into the directors chair to guide the film and from the word go, he started making things happen. I saw storyboards, costume designs and animatics. The vision was becoming a reality and that amazing test reel footage was shot and I thought for certain that the film would be on its way to a green light. Then…more waiting. And here we are, this outstanding vision is being filmed and prepared for a Feb. 12th 2016 release date. I can tell you that you are in for a cinematic comic book experience unlike any you have experienced! Deadpool is all that you’ve been waiting for and a round of applause to Tim, Rhett, Paul, Ryan and Simon Kinberg for seeing it through! #robliefeld#deadpool

Dwayne Johnson Voicing Lead In Disney’s Moana

Dwayne Johnson has taken to Instagram to announce he has been cast as the male lead, Maui, in Disney’s next animated musical, Moana.

Johnson posted the following including mention he will be singing, with WWE fans of the actor already familiar with The Rock’s musical talents.

Moana has a November 23, 2016 release date and sees a young woman using her navigational talents to set sail for a fabled island. Joining her on the adventure is her hero, the legendary demi-god Maui.

The Avengers 2 Cast Appearing At MTV Movie Awards With New Clip

The cast of The Avengers 2 will be appearing at the MTV Movie Awards.

MTV announced that Robert Downey Jr. will be the recipient of the Generations Award, and that fellow Avengers 2 cast members Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo and Jeremy Renner will be with him.

In addition, a new 90-second Avengers 2 clip will be debuting at the MTV Movie Awards.

“Throughout his career, Robert Downey Jr. has mesmerized audiences by capturing the humanity in larger-than-life characters like Charlie Chaplin, Sherlock Holmes and Tony Stark,” said Stephen Friedman, President of MTV, in a statement. “He’s a brilliant actor and a Hollywood icon, and we are proud to recognize his tremendous passion and talent with this year’s Generation Award.” 

The MTV Movie Awards take place Sunday, April 12th at 8/7c hosted by Amy Schumer.

Ben Hardy Playing Angel For X-Men: Apocalypse

Bryan Singer recently teased Angel for X-Men: Apocalypse (see image below), and now it is looking likely Ben Hardy is playing the character.

It’s not official as of yet, but a reporter for The Wrap tweeted out that he is hearing Hardy is “indeed playing” Angel in X-Men: Apocalypse.

Hopefully that means Ben Hardy is playing Archangel as well.

Attack on Titan: Humanity In Chains 3DS Trailer

Attack on Titan: Humanity In Chains for the Nintendo 3DS will be available this May in Europe and North America.

Based on the hit Attack on Titan anime and manga, players will defend the three Walls from invading Titans as a member of the elite Scout Regiment with their omni-directional mobility gear and blades. Based on the upcoming Japanese remake of an earlier Attack on Titan game, Humanity in Chains will be the first Attack on Titan game to reach North American shores, and will release exclusively on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS in May 2015 with the original Japanese audio and English subtitles.

The features for  Attack on Titan: Humanity in Chains  include:

• Story Mode: As a member of the elite Scout Regiment, defending the outer walls from the Titans will push players to their very limits to save humanity. Enhanced Titan AI behavior will sap every ounce of ability from players as they make a last stand for the human race.

Mortal Kombat X Jax and Jacqueline Trailer

Today, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment released the Mortal Kombat X Official Briggs Family Trailer, which showcases cybernetically-enhanced Major Jackson “Jax” Briggs and his daughter Jacqueline “Jacqui” Briggs, who followed in her father’s footsteps in the Outworld Investigation Agency Special Forces. The trailer shows off their dynamic father-daughter relationship and equally deadly fighting moves.

Mortal Kombat X is NetherRealm Studios’ next highly anticipated installment in its legendary, critically acclaimed fighting game franchise that propels the iconic franchise into a new generation. James Gunn Updates Guardians of the Galaxy 2

Update: Gunn held another QnA where he revealed Guardians of the Galaxy 2 will start filming February 2016 at Pinewood Studios in Atlanta, Georgia.

 

James Gunn recently gave the new Periscope App a test drive where he answered questions regarding Guardians of the Galaxy 2, Marvel and other topics.

Gunn has been busy developing the sequel, in which he previously let it be known Marvel thought his latest approach was “risky.”

Screen Rant caught the QnA and jotted down the following:

Gunn has submitted his treatment for Guardians of the Galaxy 2 to Marvel brass.

He has a follow-up meeting this Friday about the treatment and will begin the actual screenplay in about a week, in which he later added he is about 70 pages into it.

Gunn confirmed that Ronan is dead and that “not everything is going to happen in the movies as same as the comics.”

Gunn said fans will get to know the Guardians in the sequel in a “deeper way.”

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 will be in 3D.

Gunn offered they don’t do motion-capture work for Rocket and Groot, they just reference images at times.

They may have figured a way for Karen Gillan not to shave her head for Nebula.

Regarding the writing process of both movies, Gunn said he plots out the whole story, and then writes it after.

Other tidbits mentioned include:

Gunn has seen and liked Avengers 2; “lept for joy” about Spider-Man joining Marvel; current favorite comics are Silver Surfer, Wolverines and Secret Avengers; “really dug” the Fantastic Four trailer; would never direct an X-Men movie, and his favorite villain is Heath Ledger’s Joker.

“Guardians of the Galaxy 2” has a May 5, 2017 release date.

Guillermo del Toro Still Waiting On WB For Justice League Dark

Guillermo del Toro’s Justice League Dark film featuring the more supernatural characters of the DC Universe is all set on his end as the director is finished with the script and has handed it in to WB.

Now it’s a waiting game.

Guillermo del Toro attended a press event for his FX series, The Strain, where he offered an update on Justice League Dark to IGN.

“We turned in our [script] revision, and it all depends on the calendar, you know?” del Toro offered earlier today. “If I can do it, I would love to do it. And I think the screenplay and the characters are very solid.”

The report goes on to mention that del Toro stated that if he is unable to direct Justice League Dark due to other commitments and timing, that “somebody will do it.” It’s reported del Toro said it’s not easy to commit to directing considering the amount of time it takes to direct a movie and especially with Justice League Dark being a part of a shared DC movie universe.

“You cannot say, ‘Yeah, I’ll do it after I do this,’ or ‘I have the first season of The Strain,” said del Toro. “[Justice League Dark] needs to fall into the plan of the DC Universe.”

Synopsis:

With today being April Fool’s Day, Ray Fisher has taken to his Instagram account to have a little fun with the fans by posting a “first look” at Cyborg.

Ray Fisher will be playing the character in Batman Vs. Superman, Justice League and the standalone Cyborg movie due out in 2020.

Ryan Reynolds Confirms Deadpool R-Rating In Video

Yep, you read that right – and it’s not an April Fool’s Day prank – the Deadpool movie will be Rated-R.

Reynolds confirmed the news in the above video with Extra’s Mario Lopez.

Reynolds is currently in Vancouver, his hometown, where he confirmed the news.

“Yeah, he was in Wolverine, but that’s not the character we are putting on screen right now,” Reynolds offered. “Deadpool is definitely a wise-cracker, but I think the most distinct feature is that he is a guy who is morally flexible and has a motormouth. He doesn’t care if people love him or hate him.”

“Deadpool” has a February 12, 2016 release directed by Tim Miller starring Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, TJ Miller and Gina Carano.

Tron 3 May Have A Title

Following an earlier report that Joseph Kosinksi is due to film the third Tron move this Fall, a potential title for Tron 3 may have been revealed.

A research industry website tweeted out the title with “Tron: Ascension” and stated the movie will film in Vancouver as well.

In addition to Kosinksi, Garrett Hedlund is expected to return as Sam Hedlund.

Previous details mentioned by Kosinki stated Tron 3 won’t be a rehash of Tron: Legacy, and the director also compared Tron 3 to an Empire Strikes Back.

With Dwayne Johnson being the People’s Champ, why did the fan-favorite actor go with Black Adam for the DC Shazam movie?

Johnson explains to Digit Spy that Black Adam is a character he loves and has been drawn to for the past ten years.

I felt ultimately, and this is with all due respect to Shazam, Billy Batson, it’s a mythology that I love, it’s been with me for almost 10 years now. What made me choose Black Adam was I just inherently felt Black Adam was more interesting to me, because I felt like there were more layers to Black Adam, starting out as a slave and then ultimately becoming the anti-hero who we enjoy today.

Shazam has a 2019 release, though Dwayne Johnson did recently state the release date might be moved up. 

The actor playing Shazam has yet to be cast as well.

Check out the “Artoo In Love” Star Wars short fan-film above made by an Autodesk employe with the help from a few LucasFilm employees as well.

The short is described as: “Follow our intrepid, droid-hero R2-D2 as he tries to find love in our galaxy.”

“Artoo In Love” was featured at the Sonoma International Film Festival 2015.

New Toho Godzilla Said To Be Taller Than Gareth Edwards’

Toho is developing a Japanese Godzilla movie of their own, which will be released next year.

New details have come to light from the co-directors on the film, Hideaki Anno and Shinji Higuchi.

The Anime News Network reports the new Toho Godzilla will be the tallest Godzilla to date, even bigger than the Gareth Edwards version from the 2014 film.

Toho released a teaser of their Godzilla foot imprint where it’s stated: “The foot is indicative of the new Godzilla being the tallest one yet, towering over the 108-meter-tall (about 355-foot-tall) incarnation in Gareth Edwards and Legendary Pictures’ 2014 Hollywood film.”

It’s also stated the Toho Godzilla movie will be set in Japan, and Higuchi offered: “Finally, the time has come. Playtime is over. Next year, I will deliver the greatest and worst nightmare to everyone.”

Legendary has given their Godzilla sequel a June 8, 2018 release date.

Watch: Arnold Says Terminator 4 Sucked

Check out a behind-the-scenes set video and interview with the cast of Terminator: Genisys where Arnold Schwarzenegger talks about the previous movies.

It’s mentioned that T2 is the best of the series, with Arnold disagreeing and stating the three Terminator movies he played in each had their own “personalities and interesting storylines.”

It’s then mentioned that Arnold wasn’t in the fourth Terminator (2009’s Terminator: Salvation starring Christian Bale), with Arnold replying, “Thanks God.”

The interviewer then questions, “Why was it bad?” with Arnold replying, “It sucked. Exactly,” to the laughs of everyone in attendance.

Arnold also goes on to talk about how he fights his younger self and more, in the video above.

“Terminator Genysis” has a July 1, 2015 release starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connor, Jason Clarke as John Connor and Jai Courtney as Kyle Reese.

Synopsis:

Batman Vs. Superman Trailer Said To Be Attached To Mad Max: Fury Road

Do we finally know when Warner Bros. will be releasing the Batman Vs. Superman trailer?

Now it’s being said the Batman Vs. Superman trailer will be attached to the May 15th release of Mad Max: Fury Road.

Apparently the online chatter is stating WB doesn’t want to release the Batman Vs. Superman trailer while Avengers 2 is showing (plus the Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer) and wants to wait a bit until mid-May with Mad Max so they can have the attention soley centered on Batman Vs. Superman.

Per the norm, consider this another rumor as nothing officialy has been announced, but since Mad Max is a WB movie, this has been just about everyone’s guess.

Update: Variety is reporting the Batman Vs. Superman trailer is confirmed for Mad Max.

Stephen Amell Cast As Casey Jones In Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2

Arrow‘s Stephen Amell will be playing Casey Jones in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2.

Variety reported the news as the next TMNT movie is set to begin filming next month in NYC and Buffalo, NY.

Stephen Amell joins Megan Fox as April O’Neil and Will Arnett as Vern Fenwick.

David Green is directing the sequel, which has a June 3, 2016 release.

No specific plot details are known, but both Bebop and Rocksteady have also been confirmed.

It’s reported Stephen Amell beat out a half-dozen actors for the role, with it said Amell nabbed the role do to his good chemistry with Megan Fox.

Scott Eastwood Rumored For Wonder Woman’s Love Interest

While it has been confirmed Scott Eastwood will be featured in Suicide Squad, the son to actor Clint Eastwood’s role is currently unknown.

However, online speculation is leading to Scott Eastwood possibly playing Steve Trevor, who in the comics is the love interest to Wonder Woman.

The new DC Comics have Steve Trevor and Amanda Waller discussing the Amazons, with Trevor serving as a goverment liason to the Amazons as well. Steve Trevor has also been attached to various groups including ARGUS, Team 7 and Justice League Of America.

“I’m doing a movie up there called Suicide Squad,” Eastwood confirmed to Canada’s eTalk, as the film is shooting in Toronto. “I can’t tell you anything. It’s all under shhhh.”

“Suicide Squad” has an August 5, 2016 release date directed by David Ayer starring Will Smith as Deadshot, Jared Leto as the Joker, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, Jai Courtney as Boomerang, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag, and Viola Davis is playing Amanda Waller.

Ben Affleck Will Be Able To Turn Head As Batman

It’s learned the redesign of the new Batman suit for Batman Vs. Superman will make the costume more comfortable and flexible for Ben Affleck.

Costume designer Michael Wilkinson, who also worked on Man Of Steel, told fashionista.com that getting the new Batman suit right was paramount to director Zack Snyder.

“That’s actually one of the first things that Snyder mentioned to me in one of our initial meetings,” Wilkinson said. “It’s a very important thing to Zack that the Batsuit would be comfortable and very flexible, but then would be able to perform in a very natural and forceful way. So a lot of incredible engineering went into the development of the new black cowl.”

Interestingly enough, when Ben Affleck was cast as the new Batman, Christian Bale’s advice for Affleck was “to tell the costume designer to make sure the cowl doesn’t feel like the Joker is sitting on your shoulders every time you try to turn your head.”

Bale also said it took three people 20 minutes to take the cowl off of his head and that he found it “ridiculously unheroic” when he needed help to “take a pee.”

So actually it sounds as if Zack Snyder is going for a more realistic approach for his new Batman costume than even Christopher Nolan’s approach, and the Batman costume has come a long way from the Michael Keaton design, which had no neck movement at all.

Update: THR has further comments from Wilkinson where it doesn’t sound as if the new Ben Affleck costume is all that more convenient.

“It does involve multiple costumers,” admitted costume designer Michael Wilkinson, adding that turning the actor into the DC Entertainment superhero is “not the sort of thing that I could just sit in Ben’s trailer and he gets into it himself. It’s a six-handed operation.”
