Ryan Reynolds Still Hoping For Deadpool R-Rating

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:19857:]]

The rating is still to be determined for the Merc With The Mouth movie.

Fans of the comics know that Deadpool could easily go the R-Rated route; however, that was one thing that seemed to be holding up the movie from getting made in that Fox Studios executives didn’t think an R-rated “superhero” movie could make it.

Things changed when the Deadpool footage was leaked, and the movie is now getting made.

Earlier today saw Ryan Reynolds fire off a couple of tweets: one showing his Deadpool physique, but the other stated they are still fighting for the R-rating.

A while back, Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld agreed that the movie could still be hilarious and brutal with a PG-13 rating.

Deadpool” has a February 12, 2016 release directed by Tim Miller starring Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, TJ Miller, Gina Carano and Brianna Hildebrand.

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:19854:]]

Henry Cavill was a presenter at the Empire Awards recently where he recently offered up details about Batman Vs. Superman.

Two interesting details come from the discussion in that:

Believe me.” The interviewer then mentions “a firm hand shake,” with Cavill confirming: “There is  firm hand shake at some stage. Yes.”

Fox Rebooting X-Men? Hugh Jackman Teases Last Wolverine Movie

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:19847:]]

Despite stating a month ago he would like to play Wolverine as long as possible, Hugh Jackman has just posted a rather interesting message on Instagram.

“Wolverine… One last time,” Jackman stated.

It’s unknown if the statement is in regards to X-Men: Apocalypse or the sequel to The Wolverine, but it suggests Hugh Jackman is finished with Wolverine following his next appearance.

Jackman hasn’t been confirmed for Apocalypse as of yet, but has been said to be a part of The Wolverine 2 along with Patrick Stewart.

Jackman’s cryptic message lends credence to Fox possibly rebooting the X-Men franchise and bringing the characters into the here-and-now (as the movies are set within the past).

Jennifer Lawrence just said that X-Men: Apocalypse will be her last X-Men movie as well, and Nicholas Hoult also said X-Men: Apocalypse is the last X-Men movie that he is signed on for, but did add he would like to keep making them.

Update: Director James Mangold has confirmed the tease is for The Wolverine 2.

X-Men: Apocalypse has a May 27, 2016 release; The Wolverine 2 is due out in 2017.

Joss Whedon Reveals The Avengers 2 Run-Time

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:19843:]]

Contrary to earlier reports that The Avengers 2 would be nearly three hours in length, it’s learned Age Of Ultron is actually shorter than the first Avengers movie.

Joss Whedon spoke with BuzzFeed and confirmed The Avengers: Age Of Ultron run-time is one-minute shorter than the first movie, coming in at 142 minutes, when discussing Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver:

“They don’t like America, and they don’t like the Avengers,” Whedon told BuzzFeed News many months later while in the final weeks of post-production on the movie. “We only touch on it briefly — there was more. When the movie was an hour longer, everything got explained a lot.” (According to Whedon, Age of Ultron clocks in a full minute shorter than its predecessor, or roughly 142 minutes, debunking rumors that it is nearly three hours long.) “The Avengers are like a world power, and not everybody’s on board with the Avengers coming in and starting fights, even in the name of justice,” he continued. “So you need that dissenting voice, and you need to understand it and sympathize with it.”

“The Avengers: Age Of Ultron” hits May 1, 2015 directed by Joss Whedon starring Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Samuel L. Jackson, Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch, Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Quicksilver, Paul Bettany as Vision, with James Spader as Ultron.

Synopsis:

When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test as the fate of the planet hangs in the balance. As the villainous Ultron emerges, it is up to The Avengers to stop him from enacting his terrible plans, and soon uneasy alliances and unexpected action pave the way for an epic and unique global adventure.

Transformers Spinoffs & Sequels On The Way

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:19838:]]

Taking a page from what Disney is doing with Star Wars, Marvel’s Avengers and the Fox Avatar films, Paramount is planning to expand the Transformers franchise.

Deadline reports Paramount is in negotiations with Akiva Goldsman to work with Michael Bay, executive producer Steven Spielberg and producer Lorenzo di Bonaventural to “organize a ‘writers room’ that will incubate ideas for a potential multi-part Transformers sequel along with potential spinoff films.”

It’s said this is happening rather quickly, and that it’s not hard to see why Paramount is moving forward as Transformers is a billion dollar franchise and last year’s Transformers: Age Of Extinction was the highest grossing film of the year with nearly $1.1 billion.

No specific details are mentioned, but it sounds as if we’ll possibly see back-to-back Transformers movies, akin to the Avengers: Infinity War movies, as well as spinoffs in-between the main movies (again similar to Star Wars).

I wouldn’t mind seeing a Transformers / Unicron two-parter.
