Taron Egerton, Jack Reynor & Alden Ehrenreich Rumored For Young Han Solo

Three names have surfaced for the shortlist to play the young Han Solo in the Star Wars Anthology movie with Kingsman‘s Taron Egerton, Transformer‘s Jack Reynor, and Alden Ehrenreich, known for Hail, Caesar!

According to THR, other names may be on the list as well, but the list is being closely guarded.

Names said to have previously tested for the young Han Solo role also include Fantastic Four and Divergent’s Miles Teller; Ansel Elgort, also known for Divergent; Emory Cohen, known for Brooklyn, and it’s said actors tested from Richard Linklater’s new movie Everybody Wants Some.

The report mentions the young Han Solo role has become one of the largest casting calls ever as upwards of 2,500 actors have auditioned or sent in audition tapes in some form or another.

The Han Solo movie has a May 25, 2018 release directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller.

Harrison Ford & Steven Spielberg Returning For Indiana Jones 5

Disney has announced Harrison Ford will be back for the fifth Indiana Jones movie re-teaming with Steven Spielberg who will direct the film.

The untitled Indiana Jones 5 has a July 19, 2019 release date with Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall back as producers as well.

Indiana Jones will return to the big screen on July 19, 2019, for a fifth epic adventure in the blockbuster series. Steven Spielberg, who directed all four previous films, will helm the as-yet-untitled project with star Harrison Ford reprising his iconic role. Franchise veterans Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall will produce.

“Indiana Jones is one of the greatest heroes in cinematic history, and we can’t wait to bring him back to the screen in 2019,” said Alan Horn, Chairman, The Walt Disney Studios. “It’s rare to have such a perfect combination of director, producers, actor and role, and we couldn’t be more excited to embark on this adventure with Harrison and Steven.”

Famed archaeologist and explorer Indiana Jones was introduced in 1981’s Raiders of the Lost Ark – one of AFI’s 100 Greatest American Films of All Time – and later thrilled audiences in 1984’s Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, 1989’s Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, and 2008’s Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. The four films have brought in nearly $2 billion at the global box office.

Barnes & Noble, Inc., the nation’s largest retail bookseller and a leading retailer of content, digital media and educational products, is celebrating Batman v Superman Day at its stores nationwide on Saturday, March 19, in honor of the upcoming release of the major motion picture Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (Friday, March 25). Batman v Superman Day will feature fun themed activities, including a trivia event happening exclusively at Barnes & Noble on March 19, and free giveaways including a special edition of the SUPERMAN/BATMAN Vol 1 comic book while supplies last.

The Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Trivia Event for teens and adults, sponsored by DC Entertainment, will begin at all Barnes & Noble stores nationwide at 7 p.m., and feature trivia stations dedicated to characters from Batman v Superman including Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman. In addition to getting the opportunity to test their knowledge on all things Batman v Superman, customers in attendance can also enter for a chance to win one of three posters featuring images from the movie.

Select other activities for customers of all ages will also take place at Barnes & Noble stores nationwide on March 19 during Batman v Superman Day. Events could include a DC Comics Cosplay Showcase in which customers are encouraged to show up dressed in costume, DC Comics Storytimes featuring popular DC Comics titles like DC Super Heroes Storybook Collection and Batman Classic: 5-Minute Batman Stories, plus much more. After some leaked screenshots, we finally get a look at the made for HTC Vive VR experiment shared by the team behind the game, Industrial Light & Magic.

Last year, ILM made a video that showed off some of its work on a Star Wars VR experience. The glimpse at Trials on Tatooine suggests something a bit more game-oriented than the mild interaction shown off last year.

First Look At New Pinhead For Hellraiser: Judgement

Following the controversy that Doug Bradley will not be returning to the role he made famous, Dimension Films has released a poster of the new Pinhead for Hellraiser: Judgement, played by Paul T. Taylor (Sin City, Super).

Hellraiser: Judgement has a 2017 release directed and written by Gary J. Tunnicliffe also starring Nightmare On Elm Street‘s Heather Langenkamp; Damon Carney, Randy Wayne, Alexandra Harris, John Gulagher, Mike Jay Regan, Diane Goldner, Andi Powers, Jeff Fenter, Helena Grace Donald, and Grace Montie.

Synopsis:

Batman vs. Superman Ticket Sales Outpacing Deadpool, Avengers and Fast & Furious

Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman are not only set to kick each other’s butts, but by the looks of advanced ticket sales, the DC Trinity are going to take down Deadpool, Avengers and Fast & Furious.

Deadline reports the advanced ticket sales for Batman Vs. Superman are out performing Fox’s Deadpool (opening weekend $132.4M), Marvel’s The Avengers ($207.4M opening weekend) and Universal’s Furious 7 ($147.1M opening weekend) two weeks prior to its U.S. debut.  

It’s further said the advanced ticket sales figure is somewhere between $20-25 million, which is similar to The Dark Knight Rises ($25 million) that went on to have a $160.9 million opening.

As it stands, it’s estimated Batman Vs. Superman could open from around $140 to $160 million.

The current record-holder for advanced tickets is held by Star Wars: The Force Awakens with $50 million.

Mark Hamill & Kevin Conroy Confirmed For Batman: The Killing Joke

First announced at last Summer’s Comic-Con, now it’s confirmed Mark Hamill and Kevin Conroy are returning for the animated Batman: The Killing Joke movie, which will see Hamill reprise as Joker, with Conroy as the voice of Batman. The image above is a first look from the film.

In addition, CBR has it that Tara Strong will voice Barbara Gordon/Batgirl and Ray Wise will provide the voice for Commissioner Gordon.

“The chance to work once again with Kevin Conroy, my favorite Batman, in what some consider the definitive origin of this iconic villain is a dream come true for me,” Hamill said in a statement. “I am beyond thrilled to return as The Joker in The Killing Joke!”

Kevin Conroy offered: “I’ve had the great privilege of voicing Batman for more than two decades, and some of my favorite moments in the recording booth have been alongside Mark Hamill. Mark always enables me to be a better actor. I’m thrilled that we’re both back to bring these characters to life in one of the most heralded Batman/Joker stories of all time.”

The Batman: The Killing Joke animated movie will premiere at this Summer’s Comic-Con, with a later release date to-be-announced.

Mark Hamill and Kevin Conroy are also voicing their respective characters for the new Justice League Action animated series coming to Cartoon Network.
