James Gunn Goes Woke: Gender-Swaps Cosmo In ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ 3

Fitting with Kevin Feige's approach to Phase 4, you can't have man's best friend in the MCU.

James Gunn Goes Woke: Gender-Swaps Cosmo In 'Guardians of the Galaxy' 3

Following Kevin Feige’s woke approach to Phase 4, it appears to be more of the same regarding James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

It has become known that the fan-favorite character from the comics, Cosmo, has been gender-swapped by James Gunn in Guardians of the Galaxy 3 from a male to a female, as the comics make it clear that Cosmo is a boy and man’s best friend (of course, you can’t have that as part of Feige’s woke MCU).

Maria Bakalova playing Cosmo in Guardians of the Galaxy 3

Bulgarian actress Maria Bakalova is providing the voice of Cosmo in the film who is known for Borat Subsequent Moviefilm (Cosmo is a Russian cosmonaut/test animal in the comics).

The actress confirmed playing Cosmo the Spacedog in Guardians of the Galaxy 3 to Discussing Film (via CBM).

“Yes, I was in mo-cap. I think that’s the only thing I can share so far,” she said. “It’s been amazing. I’ve been a fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, alongside being a fan of Dogme 95, the movement created by Lars Von Trier and Thomas Vinterberg. Yes, they are two completely different things, but equally important to me”

She continued, “So having the chance to join the family of Marvel and especially the Guardians of the Galaxy, which was my first love in the MCU, was a dream come true. I love seeing all the people excited for Vol. 3, the fans have been so welcoming and warm. It’s truly precious and reminds you why you’re actually doing this kind of work, to make people feel something. I think that’s the biggest gift.”

Of course, it’s being said Cosmo in the MCU is based on the real-life Soviet space dog who died orbiting Earth in 1947 who is female, which is just an excuse to make the character female, as again, Cosmo is known for being man’s best friend, particularly to Richard Rider Nova (whom Feige will probably replace as well).

Feige’s woke MCU destroys decades worth of comics

Again, this isn’t a surprise as Kevin Feige and his woke producing crew gender-swapped Mar-Vell in Captain Marvel (Captain Marvel is also gender-swapped in the comics, Taskmaster in Black Widow, the Eternals, etc.) and worth a mention is that while I attended the San Diego Comic-Con in 2019, sources close to Marvel who are huge comic book fans and who were close to Stan Lee told me Stan Lee especially didn’t like how they replaced Mar-vell with a female character, which wiped away decades worth of comic book stories.

Speaking of wiping away comic book stories, as a result of James Gunn’s goofy take on the Guardians of the Galaxy, the comic book creative team responsible for inspiring the MCU’s multi-billion dollar franchise was fired from the books, and the comics were replaced to match Gunn’s goofy take, eliminating years of stories. Thanks for that.

The comics have also made Star-Lord bi-sexual as well as Hercules and Marvel Boy.

Kevin Feige’s MCU destroyed Marvel Cosmic and the Comics

I’m also guessing if James Gunn is using Quasar in Guardians of the Galaxy 3 that he is either using the space lesbian clone replacement or the gender-swapped version from the recent comics instead of the Wendell Vaughn Quasar created by Marvel Comics editor and writer Mark Gruenwald who is the inspiration for Owen Wilson’s character in Loki and who passed away before his time back in 1996.

Gruenwald was such a comic book fan and particularly a Marvel comic book fan that instead of jumping ship to DC, he created his own “Justice League” with the Squadron Supreme (where his wife included his ashes in the ink in a printing of the graphic novel and at the Captain America statue in Brooklyn).

Gruenwald also is well known for being the longest writer on Captain America, and Quasar happens to be inspired by and an amalgam of various DC and Marvel characters including Captain America, Captain Marvel, Superman, Green Lantern, and The Flash. None of that matters though and this is whose legacy guys like Kevin Feige and James Gunn are shitting on.

I’m also guessing Gunn’s take on Adam Warlock, starring Will Poulter, will be some kind of jab directed at President Trump – a blond dude – much like Patty Jenkins did with Pedro Pascal in Wonder Woman 1984.

Cosmic Book News was created as a result of Quasar getting replaced by a PC character

I actually created this site back in 2008, long before there was mention of woke or ComicsGate or anything or anybody like that, as a result of the Wendell Vaughn Quasar getting replaced by Phyla-Vell in Annihilation.

I created Cosmic Book News to promote the line of Marvel Cosmic that included Guardians of the Galaxy and Nova, as at the time, Joe Quesada and Marvel Comics didn’t care anything about them, only that they sold enough to warrant them to continue.

In hindsight, if I didn’t promote them, they might not have ever sold as well as they did and the movies wouldn’t have gotten made and destroyed the comics and characters. Imagine that.

I also use to vie for Kevin Feige to take over all of Marvel instead of Perlmutter and his cronies and to use Nova in the MCU, but, boy, what I know now and if I could go back… RIP Marvel.
