Watch: Green Lantern Movie CliffNotes

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:24254:]]

With the Deadpool movie opening this weekend, how about a look back at Ryan Reynolds’ other superhero role with 2011’s Green Lantern?

Check out the video below put together by the JoBlo YouTube channel summarizing the Green Lantern movie in a fun way.

Green Lantern had a budget of around $200 million and brought in just over that with $219 million worldwide.

It’s probably a good thing the movie flopped otherwise Deadpool might not ever have been made.

Green Lantern is getting a reboot in the Batman Vs. Superman universe. A Green Lantern Corps movie has been announced to have a 2020 release date, with the film rumored to be described as a “Lethal Weapon in space” film featuring Hal Jordan and John Stewart. The most current rumor also has Dan Amboyer as playing Hal Jordan.

Following the Green Lantern CliffNotes video, you can also check out probably one of the best scenes of the movie with the Mark Strong post-credit scene.

It’s expected director Tim Miller will be back, and of course Ryan Reynolds will return as the Merc With A Mouth.

Deadpool is currently tracking for a $60-70 million opening four-day weekend, which would surpass the movie’s budget of around $50 million.

Ryan Reynolds recently stated more Deadpool movies are his priority as is an X-Force flick.

Now Ryan Reynolds Wants X-Force Made (Video)

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:24225:]]

With the Deadpool movie looking like a success, now Ryan Reynolds wants to get the X-Force movie made.

Check out the video below where the German YouTube channel Filmstarts at first talks about seeing Deadpool in The Avengers: Infinity War, with Reynolds clarifying and adding there is plenty of material in the X-Men universe, while stating a priority is X-Force.

There’s so much material to mine in just the X-Men universe … In the future, if we’re doing a bunch moreDeadpool movies, we’re really going to explore the X-Men a lot. We’ll see. And maybe X-Force — X-Force is my priority. I really want to get that in.

Regarding an X-Force movie, not much has been said as of late as it seems to be shelved, but Cable looks like a strong contender for a Deadpool sequel, X-Force movie concept art recently hit the net, and Rob Liefeld recommended Jon Hamm for the character (with cool fan art surfacing).

Maybe Reynolds can put together an X-Force teaser and somehow get it leaked?

“Deadpool” hits February 12th.

Deadpool Banned In China

Deadpool Trailer

There must be a billion soccer mom’s in China, as it’s being reported the Chinese have banned the Deadpool movie.

THR reports the Chinese have banned Deadpool due to its violence, nudity and graphic language.

Reports first surfaced about China denying a release of Deadpool on China’s news.mtime.com.

It’s noted China usually works with Hollywood studios to clean up a lot of R-rated movies, but it’s said that wouldn’t work for the Deadpool movie as removing the offending material would cause a lot of plot problems.

China doesn’t have a rating system like we do, but instead has a government ratings board, the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television (SAPPRFT), that makes the decisions.

“Deadpool” has a February 12, 2016 release directed by Tim Miller starring Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, TJ Miller as Weasel, Gina Carano as Angel Dust, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Morena Baccarin as Copycat and Ed Skrein as Ajax.

Rob Liefeld Says A PG-13 Deadpool Is A “Waste Of Effort”

Deadpool Trailer

A petition has recently launched online to get a PG-13 rated version of the Deadpool movie as some soccer mom’s kid complained about the fact he can’t go see it. Worth a mention: The petition doesn’t want to change the rating, just make a second “safer” version of the film available.

Well, I do recall Ryan Reynolds and director Tim Miller were pretty adamant about wanting an R-rated version of Deadpool made, as that’s true to the character. Actually, that was even one of the issues Fox Studios had with the movie and why they didn’t initally green light the project, as Fox thought an R-rated superhero movie wouldn’t do that well at the box office. Obviously things changed when the Deadpool test footage leaked a while back as the footage went viral, which inevitably caused Fox to change their minds.

Now Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld has shared his thoughts about the PG-13 petition and thinks it’s a waste of time.

“Waste of effort. Movie is R,” Liefeld tweeted.

Liefeld also attended the surprise Deadpool screening last night and offered it’s even better the second time around.

“2nd time I’ve seen Deadpool but the 1st with an audience and the response was tremendous! A few more weeks everyone!” Liefled said.

I’ll also throw in my two cents: I’ll be taking my two sons to see Deadpool, which actually will mark their first R-rated movie. I guess it’s up to the parent to decide what they want their kids to see, but I don’t see them getting too scarred from watching it (lol). I mean, watching Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders debate is scary enough, no?

“Deadpool” has a February 12, 2016 release directed by Tim Miller starring Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, TJ Miller as Weasel, Gina Carano as Angel Dust, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Morena Baccarin as Copycat and Ed Skrein as Ajax.
