Ryan Reynolds Hit By Car Driven By Paparazzi

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20031:]]

This past Friday saw Ryan Reynolds hit by a car driven by the paparazzi.

Reynolds, who is presently filming Deadpool in his hometown, was struck by the car in a parking garage in Vancouver.

Canada’s CTV News reports the car drove off after striking Reynolds, and that the police are investigating.

The report mentions that Ryan Reynolds was not injured by the incident.

“While walking, Ryan was struck by a paparazzi driving a car through an underground parking garage,” Reynolds’ publicist, Leslie Sloane, confirmed.  “The man fled the scene. Ryan is okay.”

It’s said the police presently have “an idea” who hit Reynolds, and also that the hotel where the parking garage is located is fully cooperating. As Reynolds wasn’t hurt by the incident, it’s said the police need to speak with Reynolds in person to determine charges.

As the incident happened this past Friday, we see that Reynolds was unaffected as filming continued on Deadpool Saturday, with Reynolds tweeting out the image of Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead.

Rob Liefeld Addresses Deadpool Movie & R-Rating

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:19902:]]

Ryan Reynolds just announced that Deadpool will be Rated-R in a super cool video.

Now Deadpool creator and comic book writer and artist Rob Liefeld has taken to his Instagram page to offer the following.

Check it out below.

“Deadpool” has a February 12, 2016 release directed by Tim Miller starring Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, TJ Miller, Ed Skrein and Gina Carano.

Congrats to Team Deadpool on each and every victory along the Deadpool highway! The R rating ensures the film will be unique and faithful to the amazing vision of the filmakers Tim Miller, Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick and Ryan freakin’ Reynolds!! DEADPOOL RANT….So you’re thinking, “of course Liefeld, you brought Deadpool to life, what else are we to expect but you to cheer, homer.” Let’s get something straight, after Wolverine:Origins I went on the apology tour, for those many umpteen thousands of you who came up to me at the bazillion conventions I do and asked me “Hey, Liefeld, what did you think of Deadpool in Wolverine:Origins?” you saw me smile through gritted teeth and give a very deliberate response “Well, it’s a good start..” Because I already knew that there were plans underway to restore Deadpool and that given the opportunity, the new team that Ryan was assembling would produce the film we all wanted. But I knew that I couldn’t apologize twice, I couldn’t smile through gritted teeth any longer, this one would have to be earned. Rhett Rheese and Paul Wernick came on board and wrote the most amazing, exciting, unique comic book script I’d ever read. Even my Marvel pals have confided and said, “Wow, that Deadpool script…That’s spectacular..It should get made” but it didn’t. And years passed and management at Fox passed and executives came and went, each unable to move it forward. During this time, the outstanding Tim Miller stepped into the directors chair to guide the film and from the word go, he started making things happen. I saw storyboards, costume designs and animatics. The vision was becoming a reality and that amazing test reel footage was shot and I thought for certain that the film would be on its way to a green light. Then…more waiting. And here we are, this outstanding vision is being filmed and prepared for a Feb. 12th 2016 release date. I can tell you that you are in for a cinematic comic book experience unlike any you have experienced! Deadpool is all that you’ve been waiting for and a round of applause to Tim, Rhett, Paul, Ryan and Simon Kinberg for seeing it through! #robliefeld#deadpool

Ryan Reynolds Confirms Deadpool R-Rating In Video

Yep, you read that right – and it’s not an April Fool’s Day prank – the Deadpool movie will be Rated-R.

Reynolds confirmed the news in the above video with Extra’s Mario Lopez.

Reynolds is currently in Vancouver, his hometown, where he confirmed the news.

“Yeah, he was in Wolverine, but that’s not the character we are putting on screen right now,” Reynolds offered. “Deadpool is definitely a wise-cracker, but I think the most distinct feature is that he is a guy who is morally flexible and has a motormouth. He doesn’t care if people love him or hate him.”

Ryan Reynolds Still Hoping For Deadpool R-Rating

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:19857:]]

The rating is still to be determined for the Merc With The Mouth movie.

Fans of the comics know that Deadpool could easily go the R-Rated route; however, that was one thing that seemed to be holding up the movie from getting made in that Fox Studios executives didn’t think an R-rated “superhero” movie could make it.

Things changed when the Deadpool footage was leaked, and the movie is now getting made.

Earlier today saw Ryan Reynolds fire off a couple of tweets: one showing his Deadpool physique, but the other stated they are still fighting for the R-rating.

A while back, Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld agreed that the movie could still be hilarious and brutal with a PG-13 rating.

Fanboys Will Embrace Deadpool Says Ryan Reynolds

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:19668:]]

Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool movie looks to begin filming soon, which looks to please the fanboys.

Though fans were less than pleased with Deadpool in the 2009: X-Men Origins: Wolverine movie, it sounds as if the new Deadpool movie is on the right track.

Ryan Reynolds recently spoke with Shortlist.com where he offered the following promising comments.

I’m incredibly happy about it – we’ve got a director that understands that world, and writers with a slavish devotion to the canon of that character. That’s the most important aspect: it’s made in a way the most critical of fanboys could embrace. Well, that’s the hope.

Reynolds also tweeted a couple of days ago that he participated in a photoshoot for the movie.

Ryan Reynolds Talks Green Lantern & Deadpool

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:19002:]]

Ryan Reynolds latest movie, The Voices, hits February 6th.

With Reynolds doing press rounds for the film, he has also been talking Deadpool.

Ryan Reynolds previously stated they are doing Deadpool the right way and he hopes it’s R-rated.

Now Reynolds compares working on the Green Lantern movie to Deadpool in that when he started GL, there wasn’t even a script, but for Deadpool, it’s already ready and leaked online (via Yahoo).

Well, script. When we shot Green Lantern, nobody auditioning for the role of Green Lantern was given the opportunity to read the script, because the script didn’t exist. I’m not complaining about it — it was an opportunity of a lifetime, and if I were to go back and retrace my steps, I would probably do everything the exact same way. But script, that’s what’s different on this one.

We’ve had a script for three years. The script got leaked, and people even loved that. That says a lot — if you can create a script around a comic-book character that is directly within the canon of the character and be embraced. That’s a huge step in the right direction. I’ve since learned that a lot of superhero movies don’t really have a fully functioning draft of the screenplay ready until they’re already well into shooting.

Reynolds also lets it be known the reason Deadpool was recently green lit was because of the leaked Deadpool footage.

I was excited, because you can look back at an email chain from all of us, the core group involved in Deadpool, saying “We should leak this, f—-,” like three years ago. Saying, “Hey, if this thing is going to stagnate, one of us should just say ‘Whoops, I slipped it online by accident.’” And nobody seemed to want to nut up and do that, myself included. Someone did it for us, years later, when we all completely assumed it was dead in the water.

Now, we get to make the movie. We don’t get to make it with the budget of most superhero movies, but we get to make it the way we want to make it, so that’s even more exciting than having a catered lunch.

Ryan Reynolds Hopes Deadpool Is R-Rated & More (Video)

We get more from Ryan Reynolds above talking Deadpool.

Reynolds previously stated they are doing Deadpool the right way, and now Reynolds talks briefly about a potential R-rating for the movie and also about director Tim Miller.

While Reynolds can’t say much, he offers a lot of testing is coming up, but he does have the following to say about Miller:

“[He’s] always been the right guy.  He’s always, you know, shown nothing but a fierce loyalty to the canon of Deadpool and that’s the thing you look for first and foremost, a guy that is always wanting to push a little bit farther.  And the advantage of doing a movie like this on a budget that is significantly less than any other kind of superhero movie is that you get to do things that you don’t get to do on other superhero movies so that’s what we’re most excited about.”

Regarding an R-rating for Deadpool, Reynolds doesn’t want to spoil anything, but does hope that is the case.

“I have no idea … I don’t want to spoil anything so we’ll see.  We hope.”

Deadpool Is Happening The Right Way Says Ryan Reynolds (Video)

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:18885:]]

We get to hear Ryan Reynolds’ thoughts on the Deadpool movie as the actor recently spoke with MTV.

“I’m waiting for your Deadpool question,” Reynolds joked with MTV. “Yeah, I knew it was coming.”

‘Yes it is,” Reynolds responded when told it’s actually happening. “The budget isn’t what we hoped. This is the suit,” Reynolds continued to joke.

“It’s been a long time. It’s happening the right way. That’s all that matters,” Reynolds continued. “We don’t have the kind of money that most superheroes do. That’s great, actually. Necessity is the mother of invention. That’s why we get the movie we want to make.”

MTV then mentions Green Lantern stating there were some ups and downs.

“Yes, there were some downs,” Reynolds remarked with a laugh.

“You got to just have faith with the people you are working with,” Reynolds said when asked if there was any fear of failing again. “You have to have faith in the prep, and that’s all I’m doing. On this one, the prep has been eleven years, so you like to think you put your best foot forward. We’ll see.”

Ryan Reynolds also comments on the leaked Deadpool footage, which is what seems to have sparked renewed interest in the Deadpool movie and got Fox to greenlight the film.

“Yeah, I would have leaked that footage myself. No. I would have Fox’s lawyers so far up my ass, they could smell Wade Wilson’s feet. No, I didn’t leak it, but I would have. Looking back now. In a heart beat. I should just go home and scan the old hard drive and see what I got in there.”
