Ryan Reynolds Wants Deadpool & Cable X-Force Movie (Video)

Hopefully when Fox finally realizes how big Deadpool is we will get a lot more of the Merc With The Mouth.

A while back there was talk of an X-Force movie, but the film seems to have been swept under the rug, at least for the time being.

Now while appearing at Comic-Con, Ryan Reynolds is asked about a crossover between Deadpool and the X-Men, where the actor states he would like to see an X-Force movie.

“I feel so bad for them if we do that,” Reynolds responds with a laugh to Yahoo when asked if we’ll ever see Deadpool crossover with the X-Men. “It’s a tough transition, but I know there is a plan. I personally would love to see an X-Force film brought to the forefront. I think that’s a great way to expand that universe–the Deadpool universe a little bit. [It] also introduces Cable and all these other great characters that come along with that.”

Reynolds continues with mention Deadpool appearing in an X-Men movie would need to be done carefully.

“As far as [Deadpool] just showing up in an X-Men movie, I don’t know. It’s totally doable, you just have to be careful about how meta you are in those moments. He’s aware that he’s in a comic book, he’s aware that he’s played by another person. So you just have to be kind of careful how you do it, but I don’t see why not.”

“Deadpool” has a February 12, 2016 release directed by Tim Miller starring Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, TJ Miller as Weasel, Gina Carano as Angel Dust, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Morena Baccarin as Copycat and Ed Skrein as Ajax.

Ryan Reynolds Says Deadpool Leak Is A Gift From God (Video)

There’s a big tizzy over the leaked footage from Comic-Con, where it’s been stated the movie studios are considering not releasing any more footage.

I just posted a rebuttal to that, and now Ryan Reynolds thanks the fans for the fact that the Deadpool footage was leaked.

Ironically enough, it’s Deadline’s sister site Variety that interviewed Reynolds (watch above) about thanking fans for their support, while Deadline is currently blasting fans for leaking footage.

“The fans of Deadpool are the reason we got to make the movie,” Reynolds said. “That test footage leaked… that test footge was never meant for anyone’s eyes except studio executives, and somehow it found its way on to the internet, and that is a gift from God for us.”

Likewise, The Walking Dead‘s Robert Kirkman, who missed Comic-Con due to a surgery, hoped the Deadpool trailer would be leaked as well.

” I wish you all a fun and safe Comic-Con,” Kirkman posted. “Someone please be sure to bootleg the Deadpool trailer for me!”

Movie Studios Holding Out New Footage Over Leaks At Cons? That’s BS

Suicide Squad Trailer

Can’t bite my tongue on this one guys…

The past couple of days saw the Hollywood trade news site Deadline (owned by Jay Penske, son of billionaire Roger Penske, and owner of Variety and TVLine) report that the movie studios are considering not releasing any more footage following the “leaks” that occurred this past weekend at Comic-Con.

Deadline went even so far as to call the fans that recorded the footage “copyright-thieving weasels,”– but we guess it’s okay when a rival site like THR posts an exclusive, and then ten minutes later Deadline reports the same thing without giving credit (lol).

While Deadline doesn’t cite specific sources that state the movie studios are not considering releasing new footage, they state: “Insiders said that this breach of etiquette might carry consequences at future Comic-Cons.”

I’m going to have to call complete BS on this one, guys.

I do know that studios intentionally leak stuff themselves (such as the Man of Steel shirtless Henry Cavill set pics), and they will even leak stuff intentionally to make sure the images are of high quality and not a paparazzi shot from a distance or a low quality fan pic.

I don’t know if they leaked the Comic-Con footage, but last year’s Batman Vs. Superman leaked trailer that went viral looked pretty obvious as some guy was holding up his camera high in the air seemingly near a doorway.

Regardless what’s what, we do know leaking stuff is beneficial; so to say, for example, that “Fox might not show any more footage at the SDCC” is ridiculous as even Ryan Reynolds, at this past Comic-Con, thanked the “asshole” who first leaked the Deadpool test footage as that is why the movie is now being made and why they are all at the Con.

In Deadline’s latest article on the leaks, they state WB couldn’t keep up with all the pirates out there, so they decided to release the Suicide Squad trailer.

That’s more BS.

How do I know? About an hour following the release of the official Suicide Squad trailer, the leaked version was taken down. Obviously, WB let the leaked version stay up for the free PR (guessing millions of dollars worth), and then went with the official version. So in essence, WB gets to release the Suicide Squad trailer twice (can’t go wrong there).

It’s not like the leak hurt the number of views for the official Suicide Squad trailer as it is (probably increased them due to the hype). Last I checked, on Facebook the Suicide Squad trailer has 6.7 million views, and on YouTube it’s at 3.9 million — and that doesn’t even include views by sites that use their own player.

I’m not sure why Deadline is trying to spin this – unless it’s just to add more hype – but hey, it is working and the fans are pretty happy, which in the long run makes the studios happy.

Why so serious, guys?

Update: Ironically enough, Deadline’s sister site, Variety, releases an interview with Ryan Reynolds who states the Deadpool leak is a gift from God.

Deadpool Trailer To Be Released In 3 Weeks

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:21361:]]

With the release of the Deadpool trailer at Comic-Con, fans have been waiting for the full version to hit the net.

Numerous leaked videos of the Deadpool Comic-Con trailer are online, but Fox has yet to release a high-quality version, which is sort of odd seeing how Reynolds thanked and credited the leaked trailer from last year as the reason why the movie ended up being made.

Regardless why the real reason the Deadpool Comic-Con trailer hasn’t been released, Ryan Reynolds took to Twitter to offer something will be released in three weeks because the VFX shots aren’t quite ready.

New Deadpool Image

Check out a new image of Deadpool via Entertainment Weekly and comments from Simn Kinberg and director Tim Miller.

“Deadpool is a hard R,” assures producer Simon Kinberg (X-Men: Days of Future Past). “It’s graphic. Nothing is taboo. You either commit to a truly outrageous boundary-pushing kind of movie or you don’t.”

First-time director Tim Miller, who designed the arresting open credits sequence for The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, cites a different David Fincher movie as a touchstone: “I felt Fight Club and Tyler Durden were good corollaries,” he says. “We are in strip clubs and dive bars and crappy apartments and far away from the shiny X-Men world.”

Disney Continues Cancelling X-Men & Fantastic Four Merchandise

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20743:]]

It’s been stated Marvel CEO Ike Perlmutter isn’t happy that Fox Studios owns the rights to the X-Men and Fantastic Four, so much so that Permlutter has ordered the cancellation of the comics and merchandise.

As Rob Liefeld previously pointed out, there was no merchandise for X-Men: Days Of Future Past.

The Fantastic Four comic has been cancelled, and Wolverine has been killed off.

There is even Marvel Comics killing off the Fantastic Four actors.

Marvel/Disney, under what is said to be a mandate by billionaire Perlmutter, has also cancelled planned Fantastic Four posters and removed Fox Studios-owned characters from t-shirts.

Now the latest is confirmed to be the cancellation of both X-Men and Fantastic Four statues from XM Studios, which were underway with sculptures already designed.

Bleeding Cool points out XM Studios updated their Facebook page with the following:

Folks, it’s been a sad day for us… due to reasons we aren’t at liberty to disclose, we have been asked to put a hard stop to all X-Men characters for now. That means Cable can’t be released, and neither can the awesome Sentinel Diorama which we’ve all been so looking forward to. Still, we continue to have faith that this isn’t an indefinite red light forever and you can have our promise we will be back to producing these dream pieces once the coast is clear – no matter how long it takes!

And:

No Fantastic 4 too… same issue

Spider-Man Sony Hacked Documents Now Online

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20096:]]

The leaked e-mails and documents as a result of the recent Sony hack are now online.

WikiLeaks published all the hacked documents, which includes information on Spider-Man and Marvel.

The WikiLeaks site has a search engine which allows users to input keywords, with “Spider-Man” returning more than 1000 results (inputting “Marvel” yields a similar number).

Leaked e-mails also reveal communications between Pascal and Disney billionaire and Marvel CEO Ike Perlmutter.

E-mails reveal that Pascal and Perlmutter had a friendly relationship as e-mails are regularly sent back and forth between the two ranging from Pascal congratulating Marvel for a movie’s success, to Perlmutter and Pascal talking about Kevin Feige, to Perlmutter offering Pascal a Happy Jewish New Year and a happy birthday.

Further e-mails reveal some sort of problem with Drew Goodard as litigation is cited. E-mails from Head Of Marvel TV Jeph Loeb state something about litigation, Drew Goddard, Sony and Netflix – with Perlmutter replying to Pascal they should be “very concerned,” which was dated April 15, 2014. Subsequent e-mails read Marvel worked everything out, with Pascal excited for the upcoming Amazing Spider-Man 2 and Goddard writing Sinister Six. Perlmutter regularly replies Marvel and Disney will help in any way and often calls Spider-Man, Marvel’s “baby.”

An e-mail sent from the CEO of Sony, Michael Lynton, reads he thought putting Spider-Man in Captain America 3 served no benefit to Marvel: “Putting Spider-Man in Captain America 3 with Chris Evans and with Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man doesn’t provide much benefit to Marvel, but it definitely provides a significant amount of benefit to Sony and to Spider-Man.”

An e-mail offers a tidbit about Sinister Six in that Spider-Man is set to appear. Andrew Garfield had questions about his pay as he wondered if it would be the equivalent of  an “Amazing Spider-Man 3,” as well as if it would fulfill his three movie contract obligation. Sony’s Doug Belgrad told Garfield’s reps Sinister Six was a “standalone” with Spider-Man only set to “appear.” In addition, a Sony e-mail reads they are not paying Garfield “the same money.”

Another e-mail from Perlmutter to Lynton reads Perlmutter apparently is against solo female movies and cites Electra, Catwoman and Supergirl as being “disasters.”

An e-mail from an executive at Marvel, John Turitzin, concerns Fox’s Deadpool movie as an article at Variety is cited to state Kevin Feige is producing. Turitzin’s e-mail to Bob Cohen of Fox Studios tells Fox that isn’t the case and to correct their information. The e-mail says Marvel doesn’t want people to think there is a chance of a Marvel / Fox crossover with the “falsehood” of Feige being involved on Deadpool (dated October 2014).

Regarding Spider-Man returning to Marvel, e-mails from Lynton to Perlmutter feature a list of articles on various sites, dated October 2014, about the character’s return. Perlmutter states some of the mainstream press is asking about Spider-Man returning to Marvel – with Perlmutter questioning “how can this be?” – and states it could be a problem. Lynton responds it has been brought to his attention, but he has no idea where it’s coming from, and that it can be ignored.

Other leaked Spider-Man documents include information on the Amazing Spider-Man films media budget, TV spots, Amazing Spider-Man 2 Superbowl trailer, marketing strategy (where a memo mentions they think AS2 will do better than the first), and lots more.

Bear in mind the e-mails were date 2014, so obviously things could have changed regarding some of the contents and subjects (and obviously have such as Spider-Man now a part of Marvel).
