Yesterday saw an accident on the set of Deadpool 2 that led to the death of stunt driver who was driving a motorcycle and went airborne crashing down on to the street.
Now Fox Studios and Deadpool 2 have shut down production.
It’s reported the local Vancouver law enforcement, the British Columbia Coroner’s Service and WorkSafeBC are investigating the accident. Deadpool 2 marked the stunt driver’s first film, with the accident reportedly happening after several takes on Monday.
It’s said the stunt woman was not wearing her helmet when the motorcycle went out of control causing her to go airborne with the bike crashing through the glass of a ground-floor studio inside Shaw Tower near Jack Poole Plaza. According to witnesses, the stunt driver never applied the brakes. The stunt driver was playing the role of Zazie Beetz’s Domino character.
Fox Studios and Ryan Reynolds have both offered their condolences.
“We are deeply saddened by the accident that occurred on the set of Deadpool 2 this morning,” a statement from Fox Studios says. “Our hearts and prayers are with the family, friends and colleagues of our crew member during this difficult time.”
